I completed the good dog course with my dog and couldn't believe how much we learned in the 5 week course. I really felt this training helped improve my dogs confidence as well as strengthening our bond. The facility at the DSPCA is beautiful with an indoor arena available for the days we got rain. There are great staff to client ratios with small class sizes and lots of trainers and assistants in each class. All of my questions were answered and the class was so interactive and fun. I couldn't recommend this training school more.

For someone in the north side of Dublin, it's just as close as the DSPCA and their working hours are way handier. You get a 35% discount on neutering fees at a Drogheda vet too. Lots of cats and dogs in there too, unfortunately for these poor creatures.

A friendly stray dog had been in our neighbourhood and had fallen into the hands of a sheep farmer who had in fairness brought the dog to CAS but the owner told them that she couldnt take strays..? I had been searching for this dog to ensure its safety and called to CAS where the owner told me a different story that she hadn't room to keep the dog..despite empty 'cells'. The real reason being that the dog had visible tumours/growths & had been neglected by its owners (but in no pain) so it wouldn't be very 'saleable' hence CAS owner told the lady to contact the dog warden so the dog would be put down..I tried in earnest to intervene but to no avail. Animal Sanctuary..what a lie..lucrative business..absolutely. If you want to buy a dog or cat, sure go ahead but be under no illusion that this place is charitable to neglected animals.
