I was looking for a dog recently, did all my research re the various animal charities and finally decided to go have a look at Ashton Pound. I wasn't looking forward to it having read reviews saying that the staff were horrible & the dogs were badly treated.
The reality couldn't be different. i'm not going to say it's the happiest place in the world, but the kennels were clean, the dogs were well cared for (maybe a bit skinny) and the staff were kind, friendly and do an amazing job - I couldn't do it knowing that many of the residents will be destroyed if they are not adopted. In the end, I got a beautiful 7 month old puppy who has the sweetest temperment ever. She loves meeting new people, adores other dogs and is a joy to be around. The rehoming fee was EUR40.00 and this included her dog license & her microchip.
