I give no start to this behavior:…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to help other pet owners. I boarded my beloved Black Russian Terrier, Mulan, at PetSmart PetsHotel believing she would be safe and well cared for. Mulan is a rescue who came from an abusive situation, and I have spent years rebuilding her trust in people. She is well-trained, socialized, obedient, and is an important member of my family. When I picked her up, I immediately knew something was wrong. She was not the same dog I had dropped off. Her behavior had changed, and as someone who knows my dog better than anyone, I knew she had experienced something that caused her distress. Watching her like that was heartbreaking. I contacted PetSmart to express my concerns and expected compassion, answers, and accountability. Instead, I was met with poor communication. Although a manager initially contacted me, my follow-up emails and messages went unanswered. I eventually had to file a complaint with Consumer Affairs because I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously. What disappointed me most was not just what happened during Mulan's stay, but how PetSmart handled the situation afterward. As pet owners, we place tremendous trust in boarding facilities. When something goes wrong, we deserve transparency, empathy, and a genuine effort to make things right. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Because of this experience, I will never board Mulan at PetSmart again. In fact, I have since arranged for a private pet sitter because I no longer feel comfortable leaving her at a commercial boarding facility. No pet owner should have to worry whether their dog will return home emotionally changed. I hope PetSmart takes customer concerns more seriously in the future and improves both the quality of care provided to pets and the way they respond when customers report problems. Our pets cannot speak for themselves, so it is our responsibility to speak for them. Mulan deserved better, and so did I.

MatchDog Rescue has given me and my bf our first love, Hewitt…read more Before attending the event in Atco, we were given a phone call with a proper run down on how the event would work so we were not confused when we got there. They are extremely communicative, and the events are usually held on Saturdays, but the transport that was bringing the dogs in had troubles and the event ultimately had to be moved to Sunday. I had my phone call at about 11:15 and about 1 PM hours later I was informed about the date change. It is not a typical adoption shelter that I have been to in the past. At the event, there is a ticket system, as in, the earlier you get there the earlier you will be called. While you wait you mingle with the volunteers and the dogs. You get a vibe on which dog feels like the best fit for you. However, be mindful that the crew with MatchDog Rescue does their due diligence and wants the best for EVERY SINGLE DOG. We went to the event with a very specific dog in mind. One that was on the medium/large end. However, the staff that reviewed our application and lifestyle, let us know that the dog might not be the best fit for us in terms of training and size of our home. While it was disappointing to hear, we knew at heart we wanted what was best for the dog and us. As mentioned before there is a mingling period while waiting to be called on by staff. During this period you can meet dogs of all ages, sizes, and all types OUTSIDE of dog cages. We had met several different dogs during this period, just to name a few that I can remember, Nevada, Hewitt, Cassidy, Dukie, and Garret. We bonded with several dogs early on, but with our hearts set on a specific dog, we just enjoyed their presence. However, after being informed that the dog we had our hearts set on was not a good fit for us, we knew which of the many dogs we met during the mingling period we wanted to go on a walk with. We asked if Hewitt was a good fit for us, confirmed he was, took him on a little stroll around the lot, and knew that our hearts were set on him. We went through the process of adopting him and each volunteer we worked with, remembered Hewitt and always told us how he was such a great dog and a cute little snippet or fun fact about Hewitt. There was never a doubt in my mind that Hewitt was not loved under their care. On our way out with Hewitt, the last volunteer that we worked with walked us to our car, ensuring that Hewitt was buckled in and safe and had their very loving and sad goodbyes with each other. Hewitt has been with us for about a week. We are a very calm, but active couple and Hewitt matches exactly that for us. When we are relaxing, he is relaxing. When we are running, Hewitt is right there running with us. It is not something that I considered when I was looking into adopting a dog, but I am extremely grateful the staff at MDR let us know before adopting a dog. If ever in the future I am looking for a second dog, there is no doubt in my mind that MDR will be the first adoption agency I look into.

Their volunteers coordinate with partner rescues in areas with an abundance of overcrowded, high-kill shelters. They travel to these areas, rescue and transport the pooches to New Jersey, where dedicated fosters await their arrival. The fosters nurture, care for and partner with veterinary professionals to ensure that the rescued pups are primed to thrive in their new "Furever" homes. We highly recommend Match Dog and are eternally grateful to them for bringing our beloved Jessy "home" to us. - Steve and Anna C.

I made it abundantly clear when scheduling that I would need to be given Oxytocin in the event of complications which I was told 'of course, no problem!'. I took her on February 9th, received her radiographs and was then made to wait about 25 minutes where they could 'see about the prescription'. Once I was given it, I went through Chewy to order it (on February 9th) and staff neglected to approve the request for two entire days full well knowing Bay was due on Friday, February 13th and I stressed it's importance. I made phone calls, sent texts and was told a doctor would get back to me. I then was told it was my responsibility to upload the script to Chewy (which I couldn't find anyway) - which I then contacted Chewy and was told that was incorrect and they had been waiting for my vet approval this entire time, Chewy even called them and received no response. Regardless if I had the script or not, it was not my responsibility and the office did not prioritize my pregnant dog nor her puppies. I eventually was contacted on February 11th around 4pm by the practice manager who told me her staff did not feel comfortable prescribing the medication anymore after I spent $400 on the vet visit and now wasted two days. Fast forward February 12th - Bay goes into labor and as I expected, needs assistance from the drug; but I do not have it because Doylestown Vet had my hands tied and denied my dog the care she needed for a successful labor. I make an emergency trip to the ER (an additional $900 expense) she delivers 3 deceased puppies and 3 living puppies. We head home and now her labor is stalled again and the ER asked me to use the Oxytocin my vet should have responsibility prescribed me as standard repro practice. But here I am, unprepared because Doylestown chose ignorance over the reality of whelping puppies. I understand vet school and ethics, but if you care for some field experience, there's a big reality check here at my house because of your lack of concern for myself, my dog and her puppies. Shame on you for putting me in this position, stalling to tell me you had a change of mind about my dog's care, and then running down the clock so I had limited options on how to proceed finding her the care she needed. Edited to add, we are now a week out from Bay's delivery and I have had zero follow up from this practice. Ethics? I don't think so.
