The trainer and her assistants have been more than helpful in giving me some tricks and tips for training my stubborn little guy. When I got discouraged because he was acting up or just checked out for that exercise, they encouraged me and were quick to point out a skill he was able to do that he hadn't been able to before we started. Our trainer did recommend for him a prong collar. I researched the heck out of it and decided to try out. Next class we fit it, and there was a night and day difference. On our walks, he no longer chases bicycles, squirrels, cats and children. I'll admit, price and location were the driving factors for choosing them at first. I'm glad I did! For me that was one of the biggest problem .I have grown up with dogs my whole life. But this dog he gave very little cues , at least not the stereotypical dog signs. They taught him respective space which for a dog of his size he really needed to learn.They socialized him extensively which is something that he very much needed ,lots of exposure. I think the most important thing that I learned is what his cues are and advocating for him. Advocating for an animal is not something that is traditionally taught in my experience .But it should be if you want/expect them to trust you . Things like not allowing strangers to pet them unless they desire it ,and even then only when it's an appropriate time and setting. For instance I don't want strangers touching me Lol makes sense when you think about it. Also I learned the power of making him earn his meal.If I can in the future I will continue with refresher classes. Thank you Stephanie and your whole team !!!

I enrolled my 10-month-old pup at the Spokane Dog Training Club expecting guidance, structure, and care. What I found instead was chaos, poor organization, and a stressful environment for both humans and dogs.   Training Structure: The club requires all participants to pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class before moving forward, even if you're aiming for agility or other training. While I appreciate the idea behind this, the instruction quality made it nearly impossible to succeed. Classes felt rushed, disorganized, and unproductive.   Instruction Quality: The instructors (mostly volunteers) seemed overwhelmed, undertrained, and often rude or dismissive. There was little to no individualized support, and we were all herded through like cattle.   Facility & Safety Concerns: The building is very echoey and poorly maintained. Dogs of all sizes and training levels were packed together -- not ideal, and honestly, not safe. Easy Parking? Forget it! They are letting the next class's dogs and owners come in and out while our session is still going on. An absolute mayhem!    Negative Impact: Instead of making progress, my dog actually regressed during our time there. He left more anxious after each session. This place added stress instead of building confidence. Yes, the price tag is only $65, but you get what you pay for -- and in this case, that meant confusion, stress, and zero progress.    SAVE your Money and your dog the Trauma! Look elsewhere for professional, compassionate training.

Hello, I wanted to…read moreshare my experience with Dog-n-It. Through unforeseen circumstances I had to find daycare for my 10 year old pit bull. She has never been alone nor boarded nor day care. When I spoke with Logan & explained my need and concerns he was attentive and caring. A year and a half ago Lilli and I were attacked by a vicious dog. She has not been the same sense. She is very nervous around other dogs. She stands between me and them barking & refuses to give up until I remove her. Logan was very compassionate & confident in her safety & assured me with his knowledge of dog behavior and breed specific, he can help her to regain the calm, loving girl she had always had been. After speaking with him & visiting the facility I knew this is the best place for her. I had asked for her to be separated in her own kennel. Their personal kennels are superior to other facilities I visited. They are 3 sided cement block with 1 wall being fully chain link. This allows the dogs to see out and be fully protected at the same time. This gave me peace of mind, She would not be locked up in a four sided box hearing extremely loud barking from dozens of dogs, not knowing how close they were or if she would be attacked by them. Which could be very frightening to her. When I took Lilli by the facility the night before her first day at day care, Logan invited us in & allowed her to walk around and go out into the yard. His interaction with her was perfect, inviting her to get to know him at her own pace. He was not pushy nor demanding. I have complete confidence in his ability to care for her. The kennels are kept clean and all 17 dogs seem content. Very little anxiousness or uncontrollable barking. Its more like a home environment. With couches and t.v. Not at all like the dog shelter environment. I feel very fortunate to have found them & impressed by Logan's canine experience, knowledge and confident demeaner. What we have come to know about Dachshund Rescue NW is that they have placed over 2,000 doxies in loving homes. Margo Mossberg is the Director and treats each and every dog as if they were her personal dogs. Before a person that wants to adopt a dog from her Rescue, the applicant must complete an application. When she takes them in she spends time with each dog to determine their demeanor, mental and physical health. She also takes the dog to the vet to have them spayed or neutered, oral exam, update on their vacations and discusses any issues the dog may have. If the dog needs to be treated, it comes out of the money from people who have previously adopted from her. She is very knowledgeable about dachshunds in that she makes it clear that this breed does bark. So if you live in a condo, townhouse or apt., she will let you know that this is not the breed for you. We met Margo this past Saturday at the St. Patrick's Day parade in Spokane. We were very impressed by all of the people that attended the parade to show their support for this Rescue and to see the dogs that they have adopted from this Rescue. We were able to talk to them about their experience in adopting their wiener dogs, and because of our conversations it reinforced our desire to possibly adopt another dachshund from Margo and her organization.
