Accurate K9 Training - BT rot pup

    Accurate K9 Training

I highly recommend NOT working with Accurate K9 Training! My 82 year old mother called this company…read moreto have a trainer come to her house to help her train her puppy AT HOME. Brittany Katterfeld took advantage of an elderly, vulnerable woman who lives alone by manipulating her into letting go of her puppy for supposedly an inboarding 3-week training. She took my mother's credit card number and charged 1/2 of the $3000.00 fee. Brittany offered no contract or paperwork to sign. My mother was very upset after Brittany left driving off with my mother's dog. The next two days involved my sister and I intervening to help my mother get her dog back as this was not what she wanted nor did she ever intend to spend that kind of money as she is on a limited income. Brittany agreed to meet us after two days as we explained the situation over the phone. She had been cooperative and met us at a parking lot so we could get the dog back; she even mentioned a refund. However, since that time she has been avoiding my mother's phone calls and texts. Interestingly, Brittany was very quick to answer while obtaining my mother's business. Now she avoids all contact and is a thief for keeping all of the $1500.00. Technically my mother only owes 3 nights of boarding and training and is willing to give well over the amount due for the trouble and confusion. What poor business, horrible work ethic and decency. Thumbs DOWN.

I wanted a trainer that not only used multiple training techniques and tools, but also was actively working her own dogs as well. At ~65# each it's very difficult to handle my dogs when they start going after each other. It was even more disheartening when my deaf 3yo pittie mix bit a friend. Both dogs are insecure and needed more direction and less opportunity to fail. The moment I contacted Brittany, she immediately made me feel that all hope wasn't lost and this could get better. We set up an appointment and she came in ready to make miracles happen! My dogs were also ready...they did not want to have anything to do with her. They were growling, lunging, snapping, and just behaving badly. Brittany stayed calm and reassured us that she wanted to see the naughtiness so that she could better help us. We were so embarrassed and nervous. She handled our dogs with care and control. By the end of our session our dogs were calm and obeying not only her, but us as well. She left giving us homework and we are so excited to start this process. I'm eager to see our dogs transform into the companions we know they can be. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone that had dogs.

‼Warning: Read Before Enrolling at Spokane Dog Training Club‼…read more Dog parents, consider this a friendly warning based on a genuinely upsetting experience. I enrolled my 10-month-old pup at the Spokane Dog Training Club expecting guidance, structure, and care. What I found instead was chaos, poor organization, and a stressful environment for both humans and dogs.   Training Structure: The club requires all participants to pass the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class before moving forward, even if you're aiming for agility or other training. While I appreciate the idea behind this, the instruction quality made it nearly impossible to succeed. Classes felt rushed, disorganized, and unproductive.   Instruction Quality: The instructors (mostly volunteers) seemed overwhelmed, undertrained, and often rude or dismissive. There was little to no individualized support, and we were all herded through like cattle.   Facility & Safety Concerns: The building is very echoey and poorly maintained. Dogs of all sizes and training levels were packed together -- not ideal, and honestly, not safe. Easy Parking? Forget it! They are letting the next class's dogs and owners come in and out while our session is still going on. An absolute mayhem!    Negative Impact: Instead of making progress, my dog actually regressed during our time there. He left more anxious after each session. This place added stress instead of building confidence. Yes, the price tag is only $65, but you get what you pay for -- and in this case, that meant confusion, stress, and zero progress.    SAVE your Money and your dog the Trauma! Look elsewhere for professional, compassionate training.

DO NOT GO TO UNLEASHED ACADEMY…read more Warning to any dog owner stay away from this business, I am out $3500 now, my dog is not trained, it's a many part series where they train the dog and then you. I did not get the entire second half which was the training the human. When I called after not getting a response over email. Owner continues to be disrespectful telling me is not going to talk to me, she won't give me refund, regardless of their satisfaction guarantee, then hung up on me. She took my money won't take accountability for anything!! Attached is my email which states all things that I had an issue with. Her comment, "We don't each marriage counseling here," then laughing thinking it was funny. Unprofessional, disrespectful, ignorant. The most expensive negative experience ever. Owner refuses to communicate and tells you she is done talking. To add to this they use an E COLLAR to train, then want you to buy the $200.Who is walking around the house with a tv remote all the time. That completely defeats the point of training, $3500 to tell me buy a $200 collar to walk around my house with a remote. Then told me when I asked how to get the dog to stop barking without the collar. "Just put the dog in the kennel and let him bark, it will stop." So yeah go to Amazon buy a bark collar and a bag of treats. Owner refuses to take any accountability.

She is such a sweet girl with my husband and I but becomes aggressive, anxious and highly excitable in new situations. Lunging when on the leash around other dogs and barking uncontrollably when new people come to our house were 2 of the biggest problems we knew we needed help with. Lisa was recommended to us by another trainer as an expert on training dogs with behaviors such as Lucy's. We were not at all familiar with over reactive dogs but Lisa right away upon introduction was able to assess and offer positive guidance on how we can help Lucy. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and experienced but she has a calm manner that is very reassuring. Almost immediately with her specialized help we noticed improvement in certain areas. We like the individual attention and appreciate the small class size. The lessons are broken down into a manageable size and not overwhelming. Also the training booklet includes lots of tips and examples and has been very helpful to use at home while working with Lucy. Lisa is not only wonderful with dogs but with pet parents too! My husband and I both feel that her positive feed back and support in developing a long range plan have helped us understand the steps we need to take for the best outcome. We like that Lisa can see possibilities and sees the good qualities in Lucy just as we do. We don't dread taking Lucy to class but now look forward to it and so does Lucy! We definitely would recommend Northern Tails Dog Training and Lisa Lucas. Our Lucy is a work in progress we know but those few classes with Lisa have already made a world of difference in our lives with Lucy. Thank you Lisa!

My dog, Koa, was boarded at this facility on two occasions: July 3-5 and July 10-14. I cannot determine during which stay he became ill. When I picked him up on July 14, he was noticeably lethargic and not acting like himself. Later that evening, his condition declined rapidly. He became disoriented, was unable to stand to go outside, and his temperature measured 106°F. He was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic and admitted immediately. Over the next several days, Koa's condition was described as critical. His white blood cell count was dangerously low, he continued to spike high fevers despite continuous fluids and cooling measures, and he required round-the-clock hospitalization. Multiple veterinary teams repeatedly prepared me for the possibility that he might not survive. I was told more than once that his prognosis was very guarded and that we needed to be prepared for the worst. He underwent extensive diagnostic testing, including imaging and a bone marrow biopsy, and ultimately required transfer to Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital for ICU-level and internal medicine care. He remained hospitalized for nearly a week. The drive to WSU was approximately an hour and a half each way, and I traveled whenever possible just to see him during limited visiting hours, not knowing if each visit might be my last. Despite exhaustive testing, no definitive source of illness was identified. Koa ultimately survived due to aggressive medical intervention, including prolonged steroid therapy and the advanced care provided by the critical care and internal medicine teams at Washington State University. His total medical expenses exceeded $12,000. The owner of the boarding facility was contacted on the morning of July 15 by my boyfriend to inform her of the situation and to ask whether any other dogs had been ill during that timeframe, as this information could have assisted with veterinary diagnostics. Although I am the legal owner of the dog and the individual listed on all veterinary and boarding paperwork, the facility owner never contacted me directly by phone or email. I would have expected direct communication with the registered owner during a medical emergency of this severity. To this day, she has never reached out to me personally. Koa survived, but his recovery was long and difficult. He required months of steroid therapy with significant side effects, including excessive thirst, increased urination, and loss of bladder control--none of which he had experienced previously. Initial attempts to taper him off steroids resulted in serious complications requiring further medical intervention. He ultimately required additional long-term medication and ongoing veterinary monitoring. The emotional distress of nearly losing a family member after trusting a facility to care for him is something I would not wish on anyone. Beyond the medical crisis itself, the lack of direct communication with me as the registered owner was particularly difficult. I am not making claims of legal fault or causation. I am sharing my experience. Pets are family, and facilities entrusted with their care carry a significant responsibility. I strongly encourage anyone considering boarding here to ask detailed questions about illness monitoring, emergency response procedures, and communication expectations. I sincerely hope others take the time to think carefully before entrusting their animals to this boarding facility.
