First time here. Found it on Yelp and decided to give it a try, and boy are we glad we did. This place is a diamond in the rough. Friday nights are our pizza and movie night and 95% of the time we order pizza or go and pick it up. This time we walked in and ordered. When I walked in there was no one in the lobby but I could hear the bustle in the kitchen. They were cracking. I had looked at the menu online before hand and knew what I was ordering. We went with an 18" large cheese, a 9" personal pepperoni and sausage, and an order of cheese bread. I paid and was told 25 min. Cool, no problem we needed to make a run to the store anyway. We got in the car and started to back out and out ran the guy who took my order. He says, sorry it's going to be more like 35 minutes. No problem I replied. I liked that. He could have let me go and had me waiting when I got back but instead he gave me a heads up, which I appreciated. About 30 minutes later we returned and just as we were walking in they were boxing up the las of our order. They handed us our order and off we went. It took us about 15 minutes to get home and the smell coming out of those boxes was so good I was ready to eat my arm. The pizzas were still hot and looked so good. The thin crust cheese was huge, so was the cheese bread and the personal pep and sausage looked like a medium. My wife likes pizza but it's not her favorite. She said this was the best pizza she had ever had. It was very good! I would say it's a top 5 for me. Definitely the best pizza I've had in Florida. The kids enjoyed it as well and we all look forward to eating there again! read more

Tried them tonight for the first time because a pizza made with pickles ricotta garlic butter and bacon looked and sounded amazing. And it was! We got that on half and a different specialty on the other half. Best crust we have ever had. Half of pie was called the pickle Rick and other half was the Pitbull. A must try! The pizza used to be outstanding I got the Leroy like we always do and got it home and it was burnt on the edges , extremely, oily to were I could not hold it, way to much spices on top and on the bottom and the underneath was burnt to were you could not eat it comfortably, and extremely thin because of how it was cooked. They told me when I walked in it needed 3-4 more min. I'm thinking NOT. This has been about the fourth time it's come like this but this was the worst and probably won't be back. read more

The Pickle Rick is sooo good!! It was a little greasy on the bottom but it was absolutely delicious! I called my order ahead and came right at the time they told me and it was done! This place lives up to the hype... ...My wife and I decided to try this pizza joint after all the reviews on FB that pointed to a very solid if not spectacular experience. After having heard that the wait times were a bit longer than you would expect, I call early on a Friday for my pizzas. I spoke with the owner, a nice, respectful man, who accommodated my request, early as it was, and had my pizzas waiting for me when I went to pick them up hours later. As far as the pizza itself? It was spectacular. The crust was seasoned, the pizzas was cut into squares, and everyone we had over to movie-night that evening walked away impressed. It's not often someone experiences that. The worst pizza I have ever eaten. We got an 18 inch pepperoni. We were excited to try this place since all the other pizza joints in PSJ have low quality pies. Well, this place is no better. Greasy, extremely thin soggy cracker crust, and they forgot to put any sauce on it!!! The bottom and edges are burned. The grease soaked into the bottom of the box. If you are looking for a very low quality, greasy, no sauce, expensive pizza, then this is the place for you. We ate 3 small pieces and tossed the rest. At least the staff was pleasant. read more

I have a real problem with this pizza. The problem is I CAN'T STOP EATING IT!! We ordered the "Homer" which has ham, bacon, pepperoni and sausage. The sauce was outstanding and the ingredients were very fresh. This is a thin crust pizza which in the past with other places, was burnt on the bottom. This one was perfect! Crispy but not overdone and hard. Truly adds to the enjoyment of the pie. One thing to add - is that they charge a $5 delivery fee & they limit the delivery area to 7 miles. That's excessive. Plus they charge a credit card fee in addition to the pies being quite expensive. As good as the food is, there's enough competition in the area with good food and lower prices. read more

Finding ourselves in Port St. John at lunchtime, and in the mood for pizza, we gave Doghouse Pizza a try and boy are we glad we did. We ordered a "Chuck Norris" (but left off the pepperoni) and took it to our car to eat. This may be the best pizza we've had in this area, and just gave the feeling of eating quality ingredients, well-prepared. The toppings are edge-to-edge on a very crispy, tasty crust. They put a mesh liner on the bottom of the pizza box which keeps the crust from getting soggy from the toppings. The only downsides are that there is no place to eat-in or outdoor tables, it's strictly takeout, which isn't great when, like us, you live 20 minutes away. Also, the selection of drinks is limited to canned beverages only. But hey, when you are eating pizza this good, it's worth some minor inconveniences. Best pizza around, hands down. It's the closest we've found to the pizza where we are from. Not a fan of New York style, which seems to be what most places serve here, so it's refreshing to find pizza made in the style it should be. Beware, on busy weekends they can sell out! read more

Finally found a Midwest style pizza that we are absolutely loved. Spoke to the owner for a good 15 minutes I was probably his last customer of the night. Told him it was our first time he said you'll definitely be back. He was absolutely correct this will be our main pizza place from now on Love the big chunks of sausage and pepperoni. The only reason this is not a five-star in my opinion is they need to add more sauce to the pizza. Maybe a little bit of Italian seasoning too. But other than that by far the best pizza we've had in Florida since we moved here a year ago. read more
