I learned a valuable lesson from boarding my dog here -- no one will care for your pet the way that…read moreyou do. I will NEVER leave my dog with Pet Nanny again. She might be suitable for keeping larger dogs, but definitely not smaller dogs. My dog stayed with her just 1 night and when I picked her up on Sunday, her entire chest looked as though she had been kicked with a steel-toe boot. It was purple and swollen...resembling a blood blister. Not to mention the fact that she was filthy with dirt. I did not notice the area of concern until I got home and immediately bathed her. After seeing her chest area and evaluating her pain level, I called Pet Nanny to see what happened. She told me the following: "Your dog was jumping out of a window the whole day, having fun. It was about 5 feet tall, but she wasn't clearing the jump every time." It blows my mind that she did not think to stop her from jumping even though she noticed that she was not "clearing" the jump every time. Her little legs could not land the jump so she was essentially falling onto the ground and her chest was breaking the fall every time. She could have broken bones or even worse, severely injured her spinal cord. I hesitate to say that she may be suitable for watching larger dogs as well. There is no possible way that she can keep watch over so many dogs in an open area. Dogs can get in fights, dig through fences, etc... within a matter of minutes. Let me be clear, I do not believe that the Pet Nanny is a bad person or intentionally hurt my dog. I just think that she was negligent. I would never trust her again. As someone who agrees to board your dog, it is their responsibility to keep them safe and free of harm. Pet Nanny did not do this. As a pet owner, it is my responsibility to ensure my dog's safety, even when I am away from her. I would rather my dog be safely confined in a crate at the vet than able to run freely at the risk of hurting herself...sometimes we have to stop a dog from doing something because they do not know to stop for themselves. From what I understand, she is not licensed to board dogs as a business. My vet told me that I should never trust someone like this again. Think twice about keeping your dog here.

I contemplated reviewing this and keeping my opinion to myself but if what I feel like happened is…read moreremotely true it needs to be shared for others to be wary. Ever since 2019 my dog has been staying at BJs and typically adores it there. I even let a five star review several years ago. Upon his last stay late May 2024 he acted very different upon pick up. He was kenneled for roughly 4 days and once he saw familiar family faces he almost took the door down to get out. He had a bath (& usually typically does) the last day before pick up and I'm led to believe he had to lay in his own filth during his entire stay as he had his first ever UTI (he is 6). He peed in the truck on the way home, peed in the house around 6 more times back to back the same day and he has not EVER done that (not since he was a puppy potty training). I always opt to pay $5 daily for him to have a raised pet bed & the largest bedroom suite but I feel he was NOT given that considering he acquired a uti. He wasn't let out enough or he just laid there in filth. I felt in my gut as a doggy mommy (& mommy of twin tots) when he was picked up that he was mistreated while he was there and I will never bring him back. It's unfortunate we have to go this route with BJs but I can't risk it happening again. EDITED TO ADD: I did try to call BJs 3-4 times that day and even the next day for answers & nobody ever answered or called me back. In the past I usually would always get a return call from BJs from a nice girl and didn't even have to leave a voicemail for her to call me back. No longer the case. It seems this establishment is going downhill fast due to careless staff.

This was our family vet years and years ago, and we stopped going because our concerns were ignored…read moreand our pets suffered for it. A few months ago, our elderly dog began seizing, and literally no other vet in town would see us except for this one. No need to make an appointment, just pull up and let them handle the rest. I was relieved to learn that they had a whole new staff, and at the moment everything seemed all right. Unfortunately, our little old lady passed away in their care, though I believe it was likely her time and they had tried their hardest to save her. Wednesday, December 8th, our regular vet who is located 45 minutes away performed a spay and mass removal on one of our cats. Around 6pm, she ripped out a staple and began bleeding and within an hour, she was stretched out on the floor, moaning and shivering. Our vet does not take emergency calls so we reached out to the last people who had helped us, assuming we could be seen especially given that they're 10 minutes up the road and all of their social media states that they're available 24 hours a day. That was the first lie. The woman who answered the phone could not have been in a bigger rush to hang up. She repeatedly asked if we were clients and I explained that they had treated our dog so we should still be in their files. She offered to page the after-hours vet then cut herself off and told me to call the "emergency number" instead. She was referring to the veterinary school at Mississippi State. When I pointed out that that's out of town and that we live right down the road from her, she interrupted with, "Oh, no, they're in Columbus." That was the second lie. As a tech working in a vet's office who regularly gives out referrals, I would expect her to know where they're located. I did call the number she gave me, and after getting nowhere, I called her back intending to ask that she page the vet since I now knew one was available. She picked up, waited a beat, gave the loudest, most dramatic sigh, then put me on hold without saying a word. I then had to explain the situation to a second tech who had no problem taking my number and having the vet on call contact me. I then of course had to explain for a third time what was happening and ultimately was told that it was most likely a bad reaction to either the anesthesia or the painkillers and to get ahold of our regular vet in the morning. If it weren't for the fact that it looks like our baby is going to be okay, I would give this place absolutely zero stars. I truly believe that the doctors are good people, and that means a lot, but at least one member of their staff needs a swift, hard kick in the ass. You have no business working in this industry with such a disrespectful attitude. How they manage to book patients with that woman handling the phone, I have no clue. It's also wrong to advertise that you are open all day, every day when you apparently close the doors at 7pm to anyone who isn't a "current client." Change your hours, discipline your staff.
