If my neighbor hadn't told me about this place, it wouldn't be on my radar. In a non-descrip shopping center set far back from the street - difficult to see what's there from the street unless you drive in and check it out. Usually wash my 45 lb Aussie/Lab mix at home, but by the time I'm done, the clean up and sore lower back makes the entire episode a dreaded chore. She was at the kennel overnight and came back with that doggie aroma. It's bath time. Looked the place up and self washes are available as walk-ins. Took her on a Saturday around 11am and out of the 6 wash areas, only one was in use. Someone came over to show me the ropes and I'm off. Used to using baby shampoo, so bought my own, but they had shampoo and conditioner available along with towels, cotton for ears and a rubber 'scrubber' to assist with washing (I loved that thing). After the bath, I was getting ready to get her out so I could rinse out all her fur. (Wish I had gotten the person's name who helped me. Let's call him Bob.) Bob told me, "Don't worry about it. That's my job." He then took me to the drying room and showed me the set-up and how to dry her. I love it. She's long fur dog and I tell you the fur was literally flying all over that little room. Keep your mouth closed while drying or you'll eat some fur. Bob then came back in and told me to brush her a bit and that I probably won't see much fur around the house for a few days. The whole experience was positive and Bob was super helpful. I know me and my dog will be regulars. For $16, it was worth it. Note: There were groomers available and working in the back area and an enclosed front room. They also use the self wash area, too. No problem, was plenty of room for everyone. read more

We have been coming here for 3 years. At first I was nervous as the previous groomer at a different business always said my two dogs were naughty after every visit. They were puppies (only 3 years old right now) but I had also taken them to the groomer since they were little, so they're used to it. They see Judy now and absolutely love her (even know her as Grandma Judy)! Judy must have a magical touch because she says they always do great! Since day one she has loved on my boys. I know they are loud barkers, but she has worked with them and tried different ways to quiet them down with keeping them together in a cage, moving them away from other dogs so they aren't triggered, and now she keeps them in the room with her so they can watch her cut other dogs hair. I love that she has tried different ways to calm them down and make it an enjoyable experience since one of my boys is very reactive. They always get greeted by her coming out and saying, "my babies!". I feel so comfortable leaving my two boys here with this team. They love their Judy spaw days! Thank you S'paw Team!!! read more

I occasionally walk my Dane up to Doggie Day Spaw for the last 6 years and self groom him. I like that they have shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, and different doggie colognes and smell good sprays. I ask if I can use their dog toe nail trimmers and, if my Dane is acting up Alicia will help wrangle him with me. Sometime I hold my Dane and Alicia will do all the nail trimming with NO charge, awesomeness. Alicia is the one that always helps me out and was the manager (don't think she works there anymore) :0( and Dawn comes over and lends a hand too when she's free. One time I asked her Dawn " How do you squeeze a anal gland, bc my dog is scratching his butt all over the floor". Dawn came over and took that situation under control lol, no charge. Dawn and Alicia are super friendly. Their's one male employee, he's quite, & does his job well. I recently stated taking my gmas Pomeranian here. He's is a ridiculously crazy rescue dog we got for my Gma for Christmas with serious behavior issues. I explained we wanted a wash and hair/ nail trim. I don't know who groomed him but he was "OnFleek". At one point Doggie Day Spaw had a teeth cleaning system service they offered. It was ummmm about $40 or around that price. My Danes teeth look amazing and I only ever did that once, beats the $250+ teeth cleaning at the vets. Overall I like the prices and services I had paid for. Sometimes in the summer and around holidays I cannot book a appointment that day, usually a week or two out. Sometimes I have to call a couple times too in order to get ahold of someone bc it is kinda loud like most dog groomer businesses. Sadly this was our first and last visit here. We have visited a few other local "DIY" options and this was the only one that smelled horrible, and made us feel like we were walking into a shady, creepy place. The woman who greeted us (eventually) seemed annoyed to see us and then was helpful on a very dry and "if I have to" level. The shampoos and conditioners were in unmarked/labeled bottles and very well could have been dish soap, especially based on smell and look. The dryers are in the back in a separate room behind where the groomers work, so you have to move the pups back and forth. Some of the towels by the tubs were dirty/stained, and the place in general just felt... dirty and ignored. We have a wonderful groomer we love, but with four dogs having a local place for a quick bath is very helpful. This is not that place for us. read more

You were our favorite grooming but last two times both my dogs grooming was horrible first one feet were not done and my Yorkie look like goat in face . Let it go cause maybe dogs were not still. Went again my husband said cut both short and please get feet this time and nails cut. Got home after work my shituz feet had hairs coming out and no nail trim . I brought my Dog Daisy in for the first time for a self wash and (I believe her name was Sue) was incredible with her. Everything was clean and within reach. They have a separate area to dry your dog so they don't sit in a wet tub. Daisy was 100 percent dry when we left. She is clean, soft and smells so good. She even left with a bow on her collar. I am so happy to have a new place to bring my dog for her washes every two weeks. Keep up the good work :) read more

This was the worst experience ever. Do not take your dog here. I was crying after I picked up my puppy. As a matter of fact I'm contacting the BBB tomorrow. They did absolutely nothing to my dog and then charged me for service. I showed up and they acted like they didn't know I had an appt. I left my dog and came back. She was in a cage. They had not done a thing and tried to tell me it's because it was her first visit. Both of the women were so rude. My dog was shaking. Please do not bring your pet here. read more

Took my big chocolate lab here for a good scrubbing. They have really big bath tubs which you can access from both sides which was my favorite part! When you have a big dog it can be tricky to reach their far side if the tub is against a wall!! They also had great shampoo, conditioner, face wash, mouth wash, eat cleaner, tons of towels and a blow dryer! Very friendly and helpful staff! read more

Had been here before and had a good experience with a helpful lady that works there. Today (Saturday) called them at 3:40 asked how late they're open. She said 5 and do it yourselfers needed to be there by 4. So we rushed to get ready and headed over. Car clock said 3:58, IPhone said 3:59. Got in the door, lady looked at the wall click that said 4:05 (not kidding) she said "we don't allow selfers after 4. SERIOUSLY? She said Yup! Left and won't be back. Went all the way to the "dog wash" on Ustick in Boise. Was done within 45 minutes. read more

Doggie day spaw is a great pet grooming shop. They truly do love our pets as much as we do, like they say on their website. I have a big dog that we take in to self wash and their tubs are very convenient. And when our old small dog needs grooming they do a great job. Alicia loves dogs and I trust her to treat our dogs with loving care. The shop is clean and the groomers do a good job. Our dog came home with a fresh hair cut and a cool bandana tied around his neck. He looked great and I could tell he felt better too. I would highly recommend doggie day spaw. Unable to follow simple instructions regarding cutting less off a dog. Instead was shaved extremely short all the way around, including the areas specifically asked to be left longer. Upon pickup, we were greeted with "I forgot until I had already shaved one leg" and then a bad attitude by an unapologetic manager, unwilling to provide a partial refund. I am unsure which is the worst part, the inability to follow instructions, the unevenness/clipper marks/overall poor job or the bad attitudes. I guess we have our answer on why they are not booked out a few weeks like all the other locations in town. NOT going back! read more

Possibly the worst pet groomer in town. Not helpful. We've given them multiple chances and are disappointed every time. Not only are they poor at giving the cuts, they don't even seem to want to let you do it yourself. We went in one day at 1:30 to do it ourselves and they said it wasn't a good time because they were going to be "closing at 4". Another time we took a dog in, there was literally zero difference in his hair when we went to pick him up after. We're done wasting our time, don't waste yours either. read more

I've taken my dog here numerous times over the years since they opened, but my last visit was horrible. My corgi went in for a bath and brush grooming, nothing major. She takes a sedative before she goes and has never had an issue. This grooming, however, caused a medical crisis. My dad took her in while I was at work. He was told when he picked her up that she has a nosebleed during grooming. That's never happened before. When she got home, she was VERY crippled up when trying to walk. She was wheezing. None of this has happened before. As I was petting her the next day, I discovered a fairly nasty cut near her shoulder. A phone call was made to Dawn, who asked us to bring Sayde back to the spaw and denied any wrongdoing. We said that we would not bring a traumatized and ill dog back there, but text message photos of the cut to Dawn. Oh, and Dawn stated that my dog was unhealthy. She has a managed medical condition and is under routine care by a vet. She is NOT unhealthy. Needless to say, I never got a reply, call or anything. Meanwhile, my dog was placed on daily steroids for a week and it took weeks for the cut to heal. I don't know what happened there. If I had to guess, I'm guessing that the groomer was too rough and my dog fell off the table while in the "noose". As for the cut, I don't know. I don't have enough adjectives for terrible to use here. read more

My Ozzy (Rottweiler) will not be going back. by Natalie Bravo - 04/23/2014 I have been taking my Rottweiler to Doggie Day Spaw in Meridian for about 18 months now and I usually take him every 3 months. I called in today to get an appointment and when I told the girl my name and dog's name she sounded like it was an inconvenience I asked if they could clip a little scraggleys on him and she said well you know it takes two of us to do him and I asked if it was because he is big and she said NO he has behavorial problems and is an ALPHA MALE and does not listen to them. I was shocked since no one there has ever said this before and first of all my dog is NOT an ALPHA dog and is a big teddy bear and is so submissive with us and I told her this and she said well he is not when he is here and I asked her if they use the training collar on him and she said no they use love well I know with my dog loving on him means you want to play but he in no way does he control us we have made that firm from the beginning than she asked if we socialize him and I said not really because of other viruses or diseases that he could contract and that with people he is normally only around us and she said well that's why he has behavorial problems and this dog is afraid of his own shadow but he is not a big chicken or anything like that and that he is a big playful teddy bear and listens to us with no problems. I asked her if I could watch while they bathe him to see what the problems were and she said NO. When I have taken him there and I go to pick him up the lady always has nothing but nice things to say about him but I guess they were all lies. read more
