When I reached out to Jack he suggested we meet up prior to my needing his services to meet my pup so they could get to know one another before the trip. When I left him with Jack during my vacation, I received a pic of my baby as well as daily updates on his well-being. He told me how he was eating, his many walks and his temperament while being in a different home that he was not used to. This was really a relief to me as I didn't have to worry that my pup was being taken care of in a knowledgeable, calm atmosphere. I will definitely use Jack again for any future pet sitting vacations that I will need. He is the best! G

In addition to his size and strength, Zippy is extremely reactive, thus very difficult to control, when he encounters other dogs during walks. I advertised for dog walkers on Nextdoor and received a few responses from kids and other dog lovers. When Jack Feldmann the owner of Your Pet's Best Friend reached out to me, it was immediately apparent that he is a professional -- the real deal. He and his associate, Kevin Wilson, were totally unfazed by Zippy's size and potential for problems. Both developed great relationships with our monster dog and managed him beautifully. Fortunately, I'm again able to walk Zippy, but I will certainly call Your Pet's Best Friend anytime our circumstances require support with Zippy. If you live in the Wilmington area, I highly recommend their services. Jack's number is (302) 379-5501.

Broke our dogs bowl and then put the bowl back in our bag without saying a word. When we finally pick up our dogs, both were soaking wet and smelled like urine. Not sure if our dogs were ever let outside. Very unprofessional and would not recommend anybody take their dogs here.

They promptly returned my phone calls to check on their status. They paid attention to my concerns when dropping them off, and adjusted their care of my dogs accordingly. For instance, my younger dog actually put on some much needed weight while there, and my older dog's failing back legs were well cared for. They mentioned putting tiles down in the run for him on his next visit to make him more comfortable. They also did great with my behavior concerns with my dog. My younger dog, feral as a puppy, really benefited from the socialization he received there. The animal care staff really did a wonderful job. My dogs seemed happy and well-adjusted when I picked them up. In addition to all these positives, the property is very clean and well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate to have my fur babies stay there again. The piece of mind Joyful Acres provided me was well worth the hour and a half drive to get to them. To the previous poster who gave them 1 star: living on the property doesn't mean that you are there 24/7, and since you mentioned a storm was coming, I'm sure you would understand their need to prepare as well. There's no reason that a state of emergency would have prevented you from driving there during their "open hours", as there is a fundamental difference between a state of emergency and weather related travel restrictions. You are free to move about during a state of emergency. Your review is based on a misunderstanding of basic emergency terms and an unreasonable demand for services outside their very well posted hours, and so I'm glad Yelp has deemed it "not recommended".
