This review is from an experience I had with a so-called manager there. She was absolutely rude. When I called to tell her that my precious baby had been cut, not nicked, but cut. She continued to argue with me, told me that I was not to come back and that she was pretty much banning me and that she was the owner. I said Really? I doubt so have the real owner call me and she said well I'm the owner. I don't know if that was true and it was a family owned business, but whoever took it over should be ashamed. I really don't know what happened but when I first started going there with my two pups, they were great. They came on a great referral and I had since referred several People. That place went downhill fast. My babies have since passed on, but let me tell you looking at the photos of other people that had problems there that place needs to be investigated and/or shut down. Actually shocked that after all these years since I've been there, they're still in business. I was so distraught after that I started bathing them more at home than I did previously. I used to take them both monthly to do a full groom, but I would bathe them weekly so I just started doing it more and just never went to another groomer for fear that there was another place out there like this one. We can't recommend this place. We were not allowed to bring our dog's beds, it's their rule. And when we picked up our dogs they had fleas and one developed kennel cough. The vet bills and flea dips were more expensive then the stay. When I called the manager to inform them of the issues, NOT asking for any refund, she was argumentative and combative. I was concerned about using community dog beds and will never return. This place is unsanitary and a health risk. Today I read another local dog owner also has a sick dog from their stay. i recently had my dog boarded at your facility for 21 days - 12/13 to 01/03 orginally her stay was 12/13 to 01/04 with a haircut service. i called 01/02 and spoke to christine that i would be picking her up on friday 01/03 instead and she mentioned that they can only do a full bath service because the groomers are booked up for friday 01/03... i got a call from christine at 4:10pm on friday 01/03 that nala was ready for pick up, i advised her that i was already on my way and would be there at 4:30pm due to traffic. once i arrived, christine mentioned that the groomer said nala needs to be come calming pills when she comes in for grooming. she jumped out of the tub and you guys had to chase her down. well nala is still a puppy and she has been under your care for 21 days plus she was in her dog run for 21 days, so of course shes excited to be out. thats what i told christine and she just ignored that. i also mentioned that shes getting spayed in 3 weeks and hopefully that will calm her down... also the pet bather that bath her said for nala and then started to speak in spanish to an older gentleman. (i believe was the manager. when i first came in to take atour, he was the one that gave me a tour and mentioned he was the manager. i forgot his name - i think it was luis) when christine brought nala out, 1. she wasnt fully dry. 2. her nails were not cut at all!! 3. she was still wet. her front legs towards her front paws where shaved. 4. her ears were super dirty. 5. she still smelled like you guys just washed her with water. 6. her paws/legs were still dirty. 7. she wasnt brushed when the full service bath said " bath and briush" i paid $75 for a full service bath service and got a half ass bath service. now i have to take my dog to a different pet groomer to get it done. i didn't mentioned it to christine at the time of pick up cause from the tone and voice of chrstine she was over with nala.. keep in mind everytime i drop off or pick up nala, chrstine has that attitude/vibe that she hates her job or even my dog.. this isnt the first time i had a problem with the grooming service. on 11/02/24 nala got a haircut and the groomer had trouble with her as well. she couldnt brush her ears and left big mats behind her ears and didnt trim her nails. whenever nala goes to the groomers, i get good compliments that she was a good girl and they let her brush her, do her nails and etc. read more

THE DOG LODGE. When I brought my dogs home they were starving and thirsty! they lost wait and had a kennel cough. This place needs a makeover and new management and probably employees too. I have brought my dogs to get groomed so many times at this place. Even during pandemic times and I know they went through changes. But last Saturday I took my two pets a lab and a pug. I was charged $95.00 for both dogs that were given to me wet. Not dried because by the front clerk they don't like the hair dryer. Lies I have never been told that! No scarfs were given and my dogs stank like if they were not bathed at all. To make things worst my labs right paw she wouldn't stop licking at it and by the next day she was bleeding non stop due to her nail cut too short. Also We found blood in the back of my CRV that means that she was bleeding since being picked up this is heartbreaking and not fair to be done to a dog. I am just heartbroken and angry. Nothing will convince me to take them back to this abusing place. They offered on Monday to have her be checked by their. Vet but I did not want to bother. I was too disappointed and sad by their poor unprofessional service. I did take her to my own Vet they diagnosed her of being burned. Yes she got burned by the groomer who' worked on my dogs. I paid $95.00 for my poor dog to get burned. . They offered no apology, no money back, no concern, no interest. Don't waste your time bringing your pets here they are not good nor profesional anymore and they just plainly don't care. We had to find a dog sitter last minute for our 2 fur babies, over a holiday weekend no less. What a surprise we were in for when we came to pick them up... our dogs were calm, well adjusted, and groomed! One of the owners gave us a tour of their facility... we are impressed and will be back! This was a huge difference (dogs reaction when we come home from vacation) typically they are screaming/whining and scratching at the door, can't wait to get out of there! Awful place. We went to pick up our dogs and one of the started crying as he heard our voices. The guy working there went to where they had my dogs and started telling my crying dog to shut up in a very mean way. I can only imagine how they must've treated them when we weren't there. We left our dogs boarding for 3 days. When we arrived, they told us the dogs were too excited around other dogs and they had to move them because they kept pressing their noses against the fence. We thought okay that seems like them. Well when they came out, their noses were scraped off. I believe they were negligent otherwise they would have noticed earlier and not have let them scrape them this bad. I also just saw a review of this happening to someone's dog 4 years ago so this has been happening and they haven't done anything about it? Anyway as soon as we take our dogs out, the boy starts peeing everywhereeee. Then we get home and they both continue to pee all over the backyard and he poops 3 times in a row. We asked for 2 play times/exercises per day and now I think this didn't happen if the dogs went to the restroom this much right after. Once we brought them inside, they drank 3 big bowls of water between both of them. They have never done this before. When they gave me the blanket back, it smelled weird. I just took it out of my car a few hours later and realized it's urine. My dogs peed in their blanket. We are so sad. They weren't taken out to the restroom, they peed in their blankets, they scraped their noses, and they weren't given water for a while. This is the first time we taken them there and will be the last. read more

Great first time experience here. Was used to Petsmart but wanted to try an independent groomer. Had the same great service, honestly for less cost. I have a fluffy almost 70lb husky/malamute with fur that mats easily (on her hips and behind her ears). Have had to shave her down twice at Petsmart and while I told the Dog Lodge that I'm prepared for her to be shaved again, I would like it if they could brush out her tangles. Her grooming took 4+ hours but I'm used to that at Petsmart too. They brought her out looking sleek and extra with a bandana! They also do boarding, bring vet records for that. No records needed for just grooming. Would recommend new clients to try this place out! read more

We've been using Dog Lodge for grooming for almost ten years now, and today is our last time. The service has plummeted over the last couple of years to the point that I worry about the health and safety of my dogs. This morning's visit was typical, so I'll use that experience as an overall review: Dropped my Golden Retriever off at 9:00am. We had an appointment and we were on-time. As I left, the woman at the counter said, "we'll call you; no more than three hours." So I planned a few other errands around that timeframe. By 1:00 I called to check on my dog so that I could set out on my errands. The same woman told me, "we've been too busy to get to him. We'll call you." So, an hour after the promised time, they hadn't even started his grooming. I got the call that my dog was ready at 3:45 - six hours, forty-five minutes after I dropped him off and three hours, forty five minutes after the time promised. The worst part is that each and every time I pick him up (almost always after five to six hours) he urinates urgently as I get him outside and when we get home, he drinks a ton of water, causing me to assume that he is left in a kennel for the day with no opportunity to relieve himself and no water. Unfortunately, todays experience is increasingly typical. At the same time, their prices have gone up a couple times over the last few years. It appears to me that Dog Lodge's issues are with staffing, but I will not be returning our dogs for grooming, and you shouldn't either. read more

Dropped our dog off at the Dog Lodge on 12/21, in good spirits, perky and happy. Picked our dog up from the Dog Lodge on 12/24 in shock, terrified, trembling, shivering, breathing heavily, covered in her own urine and feces, simply hosed off with some cold water before abruptly handed to us wrapped in the blanket we left for her. She had urine burn all over her stomach and legs, she couldn't stand up when sat down. Her bedding was dirty and smelled of feces as well. We then spent 24hrs after coming home trying to get her to eat, relax and rest but were not able to. She could not get up and walk and appeared terrorized. We don't know if she ate, drank water, or if she received the medication we left for her. Or any attention for that matter. On 12/25, Christmas Day, we took her to an emergency veterinarian who recommended she be euthanized. We lost our beloved on are in complete shock. She was an elderly dog with arthritis but was a completely different dog upon pick up. I can't imagine what our 12 year old lady experienced to lead to this outcome. Never take your dog to this boarding location. read more

Brought our puppy here for 5 nights of lodging as we took a vacation. Their rates were great compared to other overpriced boarding places. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our little guy. We even called a few times to check on him and they gave us updates on how he was doing and getting along with all the other dogs. I really liked this doggy boarding place for my puppy. They were responsive, kept us updated on how our puppy was doing, and very accommodating. The place was clean, and I was confident leaving my young puppy in their care. When I picked up my pup, he was happy and looked healthy and well taken care of. I'm careful and observant to make sure my puppy was ok during his stay, and when we picked him up it was obvious he was healthy and safe and looked good. The staff was also very warm and accommodating whenever we called to check on our puppy. Highly recommended and I would leave my puppy at this day care again. :-) read more

I was recommended this place by a friend that loves to take her dog there. I had a morning appointment with Monica and did not get a call back until 3pm. When I picked up my dog they informed me that he was a difficult dog to groom because he acted like a puppy (which he is). They then inform me that they cut his nail too short and it is now bleeding. They gave me a powder to stop excessive bleeding. Then I check out his ears after being cleaned and notice it looks like it had also been bleeding. I inform the front desk lady Eva about his ear and she argues with me saying that is how his ear is supposed to look. I was so angry, I walked out and took my dog home. I then found that his edge of his eye looks red like it was cut way too short. I was very sad to see my dog limping and feeling very uncomfortable just because they were unprofessional and careless. I decided to call and explain all of my concerns with their service and Eva agreed to give me a full refund. Upon leaving the dog lodge after receiving our refund Eva approached the car arguing with me and asking if we took before and after pictures proving that there was something wrong with my dog. Definitely never taking my dog back and just want to warn other dog parents of their unprofessional service and carelessness. read more

You could not pay me to leave my dog here again. I dropped my dog off for boarding over the weekend (Fri-Mon). When I picked him up, it looked like he had been in a brawl. His nose was ripped open, and he had bite marks on his legs. When I asked the employee what happened to him, they told me said "I have no idea, maybe he did it himself. We don't have the time to monitor all the dogs." So what I am paying for? I have brought my dog to many boarding places before and have never had an experience like this. I just hope these injuries heal properly and my dog isn't scared for life. Not to mention, my dog smells terrible. I gave him two baths and still cannot get the smell to go away. I took our yellow labrador retriever here for grooming and a bath. The owner gave me $5 off for the entire $35 service since it was our first time here. That was nice of her. Our dog came out smelling good and had a huge smile on his face. I like how it's tucked away from the main street and has the feeling of a home rather than a business. TEETH CLEANING MIRACLE! I don't get some of those negative reviews-the staff here were SUPER nice and my dog's first visit was a success! My dog is 12 years old and I never brushed her teeth (bad mommy) so her breath was stanky 24/7 and her teeth were greenish brown from plaque. I made an appointment to see a vet who quoted me $500-800 to put her under anesthesia, cleaning, possible extractions and medicine for pain. But before the vet I decided to bring my dog here. My mother-in-law has 2 dogs and she said they were not only affordable but does a great job...Thank God I came here first! Not only are her teeth white again but her breath is better! $65 for teeth cleaning (doesn't need to be put under) and $14 every month for upkeep! I peeked in the window while they were finishing up on her and the staff handled her nicely. The guy who cleaned her teeth even came out and answered my questions! Great customer service :) They also do the pet hotel thingy which they've been doing for 60 years. Def bring your doggy here! read more

We've been taking our 70 lb lab here for about 3 years. Abel works the front desk and is awesome. My dog loves him and expects him to personally greet her every time, which he obligingly does. When we groom our dog only ever gets a shampoo but I have no complaints. We board here a few times a year and everything has always gone well. For comparison, we have boarded other places and our dog was so stressed she wouldn't poop. At the Dog Lodge we pay a little extra for the outside time each day. I think overall it's reasonably priced and I recommend it to anyone that asks where they can take their dog. read more

I agree with the disappointment and frustration felt by Eddie N regarding Panzer's care at this facility. We had all seen Panzer the day before he was entrusted to these individuals. Eddie is correct, by the time we received the call that Panzer was not doing well, Panzer was a shell of his former self. This is not a sudden over night phenomenon as it would have taken days for him to become this emaciated. We lost the opportunity to give him proper care as the staff took days to notify us. This is in addition to the extensive veterinarian costs that were incurred to try and get Panzer back to health; he passed away shortly after. We are disappointed at the level of trust that we granted these individuals to provide even the basic care of our beloved family member. read more

I normally try to ignore terrible service or a bad experience at a location and not give a horrible review. However this review is personal, painful and just very sad. My parents left their Boxer Panzer at the dog lodge for two weeks while my Dad picked up my Mom who had major surgery in Mexico. Panzer was my Mom's dog, and she had not seen him for over 10 months as she recovered from her procedure. Two weeks after Panzer was left at the dog lodge I receive a call from one of the workers telling me Panzer was not doing well. Panzer is a senior dog but was doing as well as can be for his age. I was the emergency contact and upon hearing he was not well I went to see him. They informed me he had stopped eating for 3 days. Upon seeing him, I knew he had stopped eating for much longer than three days. He was severely emaciated. His ribs were showing and he looked very sad. I picked him up immediately and rushed him to his vet. They informed me he was not doing well and needed to be placed in ICU. After one night in ICU, his condition worsened. The Vet recommended I put him down, 3 days before my Mom returned. I opted to take him to my brother's home to be around family rather than a Vets office. We cared for him for one night, made him as comfortable as we could and showered him with love. At midnight, he fell asleep comfortably. Sadly, by 6am he took his last breath. My issue with the dog lodge is why did they wait to call the emergency contact. Was it negligence or ignorance, I do not know. We paid $390 for his stay there and an additional $913 for emergency care. I feel that had they called a few days earlier, Panzer may have had a chance. They deprived us of that. For that I am extremely upset and issue a warning to anyone leaving a dog there. Panzer... rest in peace. read more
