THEY DO NOT TAKE RETURNS ON DOG TOYS! NO WHERE IS THIS POSTED. I have been a loyal customer for at least 4 years, buying all food, leashes, collars, toys, and other items from them exclusively. Having three dogs, I considered myself a good customer. I purchased three toys. The first one was a lamb, my small dog played one night with it and the squeaker inside broke. The other two had the tags on them and never left the store bag. The next day, I returned to the store to exchange the defective toy and return the others. I was informed that the owner would not let the clerks accept any toy returns, not even the defective one. When a store has a no return policy, it should be displayed in a prominent location. As a result they have lost my respect and future business. read more

Been shopping here for 6 years for the furkids. Was sad when previous owners left, but the new staff are nice and helpful. I love visitng the 2 store kitties. I never pass them by without a chin scratch. I like that they keep track of your purchases in the computer bc I usually forget which flavors of food I buy for each furbaby. I like that they always help me to my car with my purchases. I wish they would carry more locally produced toys like the ones from Montana. But am happy they are close to my home and carry the brands of foods my furbabies like. read more

This place is great. I don't make many reviews online, but felt compelled to do so after my visit 5 minutes ago. I just moved to the area, saw the sign next to Publix and figured I'd take a look inside. Wow, I'm impressed. You wouldn't think it, but they have a TON of product. And not the low quality stuff, they have the high quality stuff that I usually have to search high and low for. The owner was quick to greet me, help me find what I was looking for and I'll be back for sure. If you're anywhere in the area, based on my first experience, it's worth a visit! read more

Their products are expensive but that is to pay for the expensive location that they have. I found Dog Gone Holistic via Google while looking for a place that had mostly natural products. Upon reading some reviews I knew I wanted to visit. I have a 13.5 yr old male yorkie who has been nothing but a blessing. Within the last few years he started to show signs of a collapsed trachea, which caused a few ER visits that led to Vet visits where he was placed on 3 narcotic drugs "for life" to control the issues of collapsed trachea as well as his bad knees. Within a week of doping him up on a pain narcotic, steroids, and a bronchial med I noticed he wasn't the same - he was lethargic, constantly hungry, thirsty, having accidents daily, and worst of all he was bloated to the max & gaining weight by the second. I couldn't do it anymore. So I found Dog Gone brought my baby boy in and was assisted by a very nice man who took his time with us explaining the benefits of each option shown. He recommended raw food, and a glucosamine additive for his food. Upon showing us the options he gave us space and allowed us to choose without pushing anything or keeping the high $ stuff at the top of the list. He has been on the raw food & glucose for exactly a week now - this is where my excitement begins. He has lost enough weight to keep him from honking during regular activity, he gets up & walks with no prevail, his spirit is so much happier and in turn so is mine! I couldn't be more thankful for the advise I received at Dog Gone they have gained a new customer for life. That's what retail and great customer service is all about. read more

I shopped DGH for four years and when new owner Darrell refused to call me when a new batch of Acana arrived I sought other stores. DGH is no longer holistic as "low cost " shots are not holistic: holistic is minimal shots and shots that are thimerosal free. Darrell is neither knowledgable nor friendly, but Bob is a great guy, and we will miss spending our 100$ or more per month with him! read more

Wonderful store, very helpful and knowledgable staff! We just brought a new puppy into our household, and the staff at Dog Gone Holistic has been more than helpful in helping us choose which food would be best for our new little guy. They also have two very sweet and incredibly soft store cats that my son adores-he asks on a daily basis if we can go by Dog Gone Holistic just to pet the kitties! Since retrievers have a high susceptibility to certain deadly cancers, we are particular about the food for our flat-coated retrieve mix. After a review of the dry foods, we decided on Nature's Logic because of their dedicated to nutrition without any unnecessary and unhealthy additives. Dog Gone Holistic is one of the only places in the Tampa metro area that carries this food, and it's not a popular product, so we appreciate them selling it. The bonus is that now we get to see Darrel and Robert, the new owners. We appreciate their knowledge and enthusiasm for pet health and well being. read more
