The door was unlocked, walked into the facility at 1:30 and was met rudely by a woman who informed me they opened at 2 pm and that it was on the door. Since I read online they opened at 1:30, I was not looking for any alternative time and did not see 2 pm notice. She briskly and rudely ushered me out the door. We had a person who would stay in the house for several years with them. However, she retired, so we were left trying other boarding facilities. Our pups always came how smelling awful from the stark conditions in which they were boarded. Our new pups have only been boarded at one other place, which we did not care for, so based on a recommendation from our niece, we called Alex and Alena for boarding for our recent vacation. It turned out to be the best call ever. They are the new owners who recently took over the operation, which is fantastic. We were escorted on a tour of the facilities and blown away. A huge play area where they provide daycare and dogs can mingle. Boarding accommodations are excellent, with beds and exceptionally clean, climate control, and even ceiling fans. You would never know they had been boarded when we picked them up. They were clean and didn't have that boarded odor. The best part for us is that the operation is at their home. Unlike other places, they don't lock up and leave the pups overnight. They are there! They play, walk, and care for the dogs every day. They are truly caring and amazing people. We wish them many years of success and look forward to boarding with them whenever we leave. In fact, we already booked our next visit. In our opinion, there are not enough stars in the universe to award them with!

I apologize to her and told her I only had my dog for 3 months. She told me that I should have my dog on a collar. By the way she was the one who recommended the halter a week ago. I then told her my vet told us a collar is not good for dogs. She then told me my vet is wrong. So I go up to the counter to cash out. There was a woman in the store with 3 dogs that was unleashed. My dog was leashed and I had the leash wrapped around my hand.These 3 dogs cornered my dog and started to snap at my dog. I scooped up my dog. While I was cashing out I heard the same woman tell the customer with the 3 unleashed dogs say to her. " It is not your fault, she only has her dog for 3 months. I said in a loud voice that it was not my dog's fault he was leashed and cornered. This woman seems to think I was at fault. I have always come to your store for over 15 years. We had a Yorkie that passed away at the beginning of the year. I am so upset with this woman. She was stressed out and nervous, but they made her feel at ease by sitting on the floor and playing with her. They did not push me into things I was uncomfortable with, but gave me choices and even tried to help me save money with her meds and tests. They did not treat me like a bad mom because I don't like to pump my dogs full of chemicals. They were easy to talk to and ask questions so that I could make informative decisions about my dogs health and well being. We will be returning every year for check ups and anything else my pups need to be seen for. Highly recommended.

Took my 9 y/o cat there as we had recently moved to the area. All of a sudden he had started…read moredropping weight. The people at the clinic were very pleasant . They took blood and did an exam, but said they were not sure why he was losing weight. They scheduled a dental for him in case his teeth were the problem. They also gave him an antibiotic shot. They mentioned he wasn't very compliant with the exam. At this point, my cat has gone from 20 pounds to 11 pounds, very quickly. They scheduled the dental for two months away. Uncomfortable with watching him look like he was dying while waiting for the dental in 2 months, we took him an hour away to our old vet. They palpated (no mention of lack of compliance) and found a mass in his abdomen, confirmed it with X-rays and 2 different vets both concluded it was likely cancer and he was in the process of shutting down. We didn't come home with him. In future we will continue to drive the hour to our previous (current) vet. I will add that they did communicate well. They followed up via text to see how he was getting on, which was good, but I'm disappointed they missed an abdominal mass, esp on a cat that was sooo skinny. I'm sure they'd be great for vaccinations etc.

Dr. Ryan is the most incompetent veterinarian in Saratoga Springs…read more Last August our then 13 year old chow mix rescue started having severe urinary issues. She needed to go outside constantly. We had to leave our back door open at night so that I could sleep a few hours. This issue continued. I brought Sarah in to be seen at least once a month with the same symptoms never getting better. I expressed how worried that I was that she had a bladder tumor. I took videos of our girl pushing blankets and toy's between her legs. The video clearly showed how uncomfortable that she was. Her urinalysis always came back showing infection. Big red flag. Dr. Ryan said since there was no blood in her urine it was not cancer. Never once did she recommend an ultrasound or even an x ray. After 3 or 4 times seeing a vet for the same symptoms, especially when they were getting worse, a competent veterinarian would have suggested an ultrasound of some kind of imaging. I finally called her office and said that " she needs an ultrasound ". One week later we had an appointment for an ultrasound. The radiologist took Sarah back for the 20 minute exam. Five minutes later Sarah was back in the exam room. The radiologist was right behind her. He gave us the devastating news that my special girl had a large tumor in her bladder, it was inoperable, and it was pushing on her urethra making it very difficult to empty her bladder. Imagine going for more than 7 months with that kind of pressure on your bladder. Anyone that's ever had a bladder infection knows how painful and uncomfortable it is. We started treatment a few days later but it was too late. On April 15 2023 we had to rush our girl to UVS in Latham. She was very uncomfortable, had stopped eating, and was drooling. She died in my arms that morning. I am completely devastated over losing her in such a brutal way. Our girl suffered. There's no doubt about it. Two weeks later Dr. Ryan sent my husband and I an email titled " termination of professional services". She accused us of posting phony emails and social media reviews to her accounts. I haven't had FB since April 2020. I had every intention of going to a bigger and better practice after she failed to diagnose Sarah's cancer. She dismissed everything and every detail I talked to her about. Her exact words " let's not go searching for something we don't want to find". My Sarah's bladder could have ruptured had I not stepped in. Spring Family Vet is not a hospital. It's a clinic. The only reason she terminated us as clients is because I made an absolute fool of her. We followed our veterinarian Dr. Amy Bergin here from another practice. I should have considered it a big red flag when Dr. Bergin left this practice in less than a year of being there. Dr. Bergin would have immediately suggested an ultrasound for our Sarah had she still been there when these symptoms started. I knew my sweet girl had something very serious going on. Please advocate for your animal companion. Trust your gut. We have filed a complaint with the NYS Department of education for professional misconduct against Dr. Ryan. No other animal companion or their human should ever have to suffer from her incompetence. She is not a strong enough veterinarian to have her own practice. She pushes this ridiculous " fear free " baloney! Let's face it ! A veterinary clinic could be built out of steak bones and most dogs will be very scared and stressed when they come in. She should be working under the supervision of a much stronger vet. This is the most devastating loss I've ever experienced with one of my beloved dogs. Gina Burns

Ravin and Nick are the best…read more My ten-year-old Maltipoo Teddy, had never been dog sat by anyone but my daughter, is suspicious of strangers, and has special food and bathroom needs. Ravin and Nick took the time to meet him in advance, handled his needs with professionalism, and played with him, and petted and brushed him during each visit. After each visit Ravin texted pictures and a detailed description of the visit which did a lot to ensure my wife and I that Teddy was safe and being given tender loving care. In addition, a snow and sleet storm on the morning of the first visit made my road impassable. Ravin parked at the nearby school and walked to my house to make sure Teddy had his first morning breakfast on time. And later in the week Ravin worked on clearing the entrance to my driveway for my return. In my opinion, it is very clear their love of animals, coupled with their work ethic, make Ravin and Nick the team to trust for the care of your four-legged family member.
