I submitted the initial application online and then called to schedule an appointment to meet her since they didn't take drop ins due to COVID. I got to see her that night, submit the final application, and pay the adoption fee. One week later and we picked her up and took her home with us. I believe that sometimes they allow you to take the pet right away, but we had to wait a week because she had just been spayed. She had a clean bill of health from our vet after taking her home. The SPCA even allowed us to come back to finish the distemper series that they had started, for no additional charge. Here are some pictures of her at the shelter when we met her, and they say we picked her up!

On August 12, 2026 my grand rabbit passed away. I called my daughter who's out of state at school…read moreto let her know because Miley (the rabbit) was hers. She sent me the money to get Miley cremated so she could come back home which is $60 for the cremation. My daughter sent $80 so she could get her nose print and fur clipping. I called her while there and told her that the clay paw print was a extra $30. She said okay and asked for that as well. My daughter sent me the $30 for Miley's clay paw print. I and my daughter paid a total of $110 for her rabbit to come home. We paid on card and left Miley with APF. We trusted APF to make sure our wishes were fulfilled and granted. I was called yesterday August 19, 2026 towards the end of day that Miley had been returned and was ready for pickup. I was unable to pick her up yesterday so I went and picked Miley up today. I arrived at APF around 12:10pm. I walked in and picked up her remains. I was looking thru the bag when I noticed that the paw print was not there. So I walked back in and addressed the issue. They made it feel like I was lying to them and went and checked the receipt and saw that I did pay for it but never got it. Then they said that they will talk with the people tomorrow when they come in and I told them no because it wasn't going to fix the issue it's not like they can do her paw print now as she is cremated. I told them I wanted a refund. They asked me my address and I told them that they could refund it how I paid for it. They said that they aren't able to do that which I found highly aggravating. So they are mailing me a paper check. If this happened to someone who had lost a child in birth and they never did their child's hand and foot print an the child was cremated the parents and family would be highly upset and emotional. This is the same thing. Some people view there animals as there kids and treat them as such. There are no words in which we can express our aggravation, hurt, and there is absolutely no way they can ever correct this for us either. I'm shaking writing this because this is something that we will never be able to look at again. When I look at my dog's paw prints, my cat paw print, I an my daughter will never be able to look at Miley's paw print.

The customer service is non existent if the plant and fish shipment is being unloaded…read more If they aren't busy and you want something they make you walk over and pull a ticket and wait for your number to be called. I was there today and it wasn't busy, but the shipment was being unloaded. I pulled my ticket but no one was calling out numbers. I finally asked a woman for help but she said "I don't work here but I'll let them know". At that point I just left. I've been ignored there for 25 years going back to the old Latham location. One positive experience I had was a few years ago. They had species plant I wanted but there was only a couple left. The salesman informed me that they had some that were yet to be unpacked in the back room. Long story short he was reprimanded for selling plants that weren't yet in the display case (in front of me while I was checking out). That ruined the experience and made me feel I did something wrong. So I guess I never had a positive experience, I just witnessed someone going above and beyond being treated like trash. It's sad to say, but I'm actually happier walking in and not seeing anything I want to buy. The stressful part is seeing something I want and having to jump through hoops to get someone's attention and get service. To sum things up it's not really worth the stress for me and I will go elsewhere from

My name is Jessica and I live in Boston, Massachusetts. As a marine biologist, during a recent…read morevisit my husband and I were disappointed to see Eddie's Aquarium Centre housing incompatible species together -- for example, Flagtail Porthole Catfish (Dianema urostriatum), Kribensis Cichlids (Pelvicachromis pulcher), Butterfly Plecos (Dekeyseria sp.), and Congo Tetras (Phenacogrammus interruptus) in the same tank. These fish require different water parameters and have very different temperaments, which creates stress and weakens their immune systems. Stressed fish are far more likely to develop ich (Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, or "white spot disease"), and once one fish is infected, the entire tank is at risk. Unfortunately, stores that mix species like this often deny responsibility and may mislead customers to avoid refunds or replacements. For anyone buying fish from any store that displays mixed species, I strongly recommend quarantining and proactively treating for potential bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections before adding them to your main aquarium. This precaution protects both your tank and your fish.

This is one of the best run, caring and compassionate businesses in the Capital District. Pet Spas…read morewas the only place that I would take my dog to for services. I took my maltese here for boarding and grooming for almost 16 years (my dog just passed). In this time the cost for a grooming only went up three dollars and some change! I was always happy with his cut and reasonable time it took for him to be groomed. Amy used to groom him, she was the best. My dog always came out with a big smile on his face. The staff are ALL beyond kind and considerate towards my dog and I. I boarded him at least once or twice a year (for 10 days) in the suites with the webcams. You must book early for these on holidays. I loved checking in on him and watching him play in the doggie day care (while I missed him on vacation). The staff are attentive to any medications and/or dietary needs, and will call you if there are any major problems while boarded. This business is so great that there is a strong following of people who keep it really busy, so plan ahead for a grooming and boarding. It will be worth it. I totally recommend Pet Spas and Suites. They are so personable and caring. This isn't run like a corporate pet store where you never see the same people again the next time you come in, the crates are half the size at the corporate chain pet store. I went once and they were rude. I had a friend whom the corp. chain didn't take notes on her dog who had a hip problem (nor did they listen to the owners) and the dog ended up getting hurt- requiring surgery- costing thousands of dollars and pain and suffering to her dog. That would never happen at Pet Spa. It will be sometime before I get another pup but I know where I'll be taking him/her when I do. I will miss the Pet Spa & Suites family until then.
