Aaron has been helping my family with Stella for a while now. First, when Stella was a young puppy Aaron's dog pack walks were the only thing that would tire her out all day. It was such a key service during a time I was quite busy at work. Then I moved overseas & my mother had Stella for 1 year & without Aaron , I don't think my mom could've handled taking care of Stella. As a result of Aaron's services, it made the entire situation so much easier as Stella would be so tired at the end of the day. Thank you Aaron read more

Aaron has been walking our dog Turlock for a few years now. He was referred to us by a neighbor whose dog has been with Aaron for even longer. Aaron is the most reliable dog walker we've ever had, and he is so very good with all types of dog personalities. Our dog needs structure first, then his love and adoration is sealed. He has found his alpha in Aaron! He loves Aaron so much and looks forward to his pack walks with his buddies, eagerly sitting at the door in his harness waiting for Aaron to pick him up. He comes home happy and tired - which is perfect for a lab! We wholeheartedly recommend Aaron Uplinger at Dog About Town for your furry friend. Feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions - happy to talk all things Dog About Town. read more

Aaron has been walking our pup for 3 years now. He picks him up at our house in his truck three days a week and brings him on a fun group doggy playdate. He is trustworthy and dependable. He is a good communicator and lets us know if he thinks our dog is down or something is bothering him. He will check our pup's water and set out some food if I let him know we're going to be home late from work. Very appreciative to have a reliable friend in our dog's life. :) read more

Aaron is great with our dog Howie. Always on time and never misses a day. Very good communication.

Aaron has been walking our dog Oliver for over 5 years now and I can't imagine working with anyone else! He's punctual, professional, friendly, and does genuinely care for the dogs he walks. Oliver waits excitedly for him to arrive each morning and comes back tired and happy a few hours later. Oliver is also suspicious of most people, so the fact that he trusts Aaron so much is a big deal. I can't recommend his services highly enough! read more

Aaron takes great care of our dog, and our dog comes home happy everyday. He is very communicative regarding updates to dog walk plans. We'd definitely recommend him for dog walking services. read more

Aaron has been walking our dog, Stella, for close to three years now. During that time, he has been professional, dependable, and trustworthy. He is easy to reach by text or email and always responsive. He communicates with us when walks need to be canceled due to weather or if anything else comes up on a walk that we need to know about. It is clear that Stella loves him - she is always excited to see him, eagerly jumps in the car with him, and comes home tired. I appreciate Aaron's calm presence and trust him completely with access to our home and the care and well-being of our pup! read more

We have been with Aaron for a few years and he's great! He's very reliable, communicates well, and our dog loves his walking group. We have a fairly anxious older rescue mutt with trust issues, and so it's not easy for him to gain the trust of another. We are so grateful to work with Aaron! read more

Lobo joined Dog About Town when we moved to North Oakland this spring. He took to Aaron and the pack right away (after 4 years with another pack in SF) and and always comes home happy and well exercised. As a rescue, lobo doesn't have the best recall, but I can tell he knows Ceasar Chavez well and where he is an isn't suppose to go after his time there with the group. We are very happy to have found Dog about Town. read more

Aaron has been walking my dog, Marshall, for a few years now, and he is incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and, above all, great with dogs. I have such peace of mind knowing Marshall is in Aaron's hands when I'm at work. read more

Little did I know when I adopted my pup Oakley what a challenge it would be finding a quality dog walker. I also didn't realize when I adopted Oakley he would have some "quirks" that would make it hard to find someone who would take him. And then I found Aaron which has given me an incredible peace of mind. I found Aaron on a walk with my dog after his previous dog walker refused to take him anymore. Oakley is a head-shy dog and can get aggressive when approached by almost anyone who doesn't feed him on the regular. I was literally wondering what I was going to do about work and my high-energy dog when Oakley crashed one of Aaron's group walks. Aaron calmly handled Oakley when he tried to steal another's ball and he seemed to understand Oakley's herder instincts better than most (and let's face it, better than me). After that walk, I used my cyber-stalking skills to use in order to find the mysterious dog-whisper my dog naturally gravitated towards. I can still remember the interview with Aaron when I thought my dog might be a lost-cause but Aaron calmly got Oakley to warm up to him with some positive reinforcement. Previously, any new person at my house had to endure Oakley barking at them until they ran out the front door. For the past two years Aaron has been the rock in Oakley's life that ensures Oakley is happy and active when I'm at work. I've learned a lot just watching Aaron handle Oakley--for instance, maybe my dog shouldn't exuberantly jump on me to say hi ;). Aaron has been great in terms of sharing his insights on Oakley and what training methods he's responsive towards. Its been amazing seeing Oakley evolve from neighborhood terror to (sometimes) model-dog at the local outdoor eating venues. I credit Aaron's steadiness and gentle (but firm) handling of Oakley for helping my pup adjust to his new city-home. The number one sign that Aaron is possibly a godsend? Even on days when Aaron doesn't come, I can often find Oakley by the front door at the same time every day, waiting for the sounds of Aaron's truck. read more

Dog About Town - Oakley on his walk w/ Aaron, being king of the park. - Dog Walkers Near Me

Arron is an absolutely wonderful walker. Over our pups 11 years we've had 4 different walkers due to various moves, and Arron is head and shoulders above the rest. He is organized, punctual, and professional. Unlike previous dog walkers who worked in cash and had inconsistent schedules, Arron runs a professional business with automatic payments and a consistent policies. Beyond the professionalism, Arron is a great pack leader. He is clearly has a huge heart for dogs. Our dogs reaction to seeing Arron every day is priceless! I cannot recommend him high enough. read more

We have been with Aaron for 4 years now (!) and we don't know what we'd do without him. Our dog Ron is a sweetheart but isn't always the easiest (he's a husky border mix that can get nervous around other dogs) - but he loves Aaron, and the other dogs in his 'pack.' Aaron has a calm presence and clearly has built so much trust / a strong bond with all the dogs. He's extremely reliable, kind and communicative. We plan for Ron to be a forever member of the pack :) read more

Our dog Rusty barks at everyone who comes to the door. Everyone but Aaron. For Aaron, Rusty senses him coming, jumps for joy, then lies down for a tummy rub. Aaron takes great care of the dogs and Rusty always comes home ready for a long nap. Even when Rusty is moody or runs off, Aaron finds a way to meet his individual needs while leading the group. He's a fantastic resource and we are thrilled to have found him. read more

We've been working with Dog About Town for about a year and a half to give daily off-leash walks for our Great Dane, and it has been amazing. Some people just understand and communicate with dogs, and Aaron is one of those people. Our pup isn't always easy. She is BIG, and can sometimes be a diva; but she absolutely loves Aaron, and is excited to spend time with him every day. She returns home every afternoon exhausted--in a good way--after a 2+ hour trip to the off leash park at the Berkeley Marina. Great exercise, and great fun playing with her pack-mates. During COVID Aaron has also been excellent. He is extremely communicative about any changes to service (e.g due to stay at home orders impacting dog walking), but is always ready to jump back into action the moment orders are lifted. He is always safe and masked. Aaron is the best! read more

We've used Aaron to walk our two dogs for around 4 years. We are so grateful to have found Aaron - our dogs love him and they come back tired and happy. He's super reliable and really cares about our pups. read more

Aaron is indispensable. He's been instrumental in our training, always asking what we're working on so he can reinforce. Also, he'll bring his recommendations for training back in a respectful manner, explaining why and how you can go about the training. Aaron has strong communication, making sure his vacation days are spelled out and any weather related changes are quickly distributed. His billing is equally organized, taking care of last minute date swaps. I think by working with Aaron has helped our dog be more sociable, better trained (particularly with recall), and more happy--particularly as she is losing her vision due to congenital cataracts. Thanks Aaron and we hope to keep you for as long as we can! read more

Look no further, Dog About Town is the dog walker you've been seeking. When I transitioned from working from home to an in-office job where I couldn't take our puppy with us, it was stressful trying to find someone we trusted with our little guy. After we found Aaron, all fears were allayed. Our doggie comes home every day happy and utterly exhausted. Not only that, Aaron goes above and beyond to help care for our doggie when we need a little extra help in the evenings. He even came to the rescue when we locked ourselves out! Aaron is trustworthy, communicative and honest. I can't say enough about how happy we are to have found Dog About Town. Highly recommended. read more

Aaron was a wonderful dog walker for us! We have a ~100lb dog who can be reactive. We were immediately drawn to Aaron's numerous reviews as we moved to Oakland. Aaron was thoughtful in our first conversation, explaining how he worked with challenging dogs like ours and his philosophy. We were really touched by the multi year and familial real auto shops he'd built with humans and dogs in his pack. When Aaron starts a dog in his pack, he introduces the dog slowly to the Pack: our dog rode in the front of the truck until he was comfortable in the back with the other 5-7 dogs m; he was also thoughtful about how to introduce him to the pack and gave space and time. He leads great off leash walks that are 1-2 hours long. Our dog is thrilled to see him and tired when he gets home. We're grateful for his care, excellent training and great off leash walks at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend! read more

I've been a client of Aaron's for over two years and I wouldn't have as well trained, mannered and peaceful a pup without his help. I interviewed several dog walkers before Aaron and I'm grateful that I did because it gave me a broad perspective of what's out there. My primary concerns were flexibility for a new pup, being judged and trust with my pup/home. Flexibility. Aaron has been super flexible with my pup's needs and my own as a one time new dog owner. His flexibility and willingness to help got me through the difficult times when my pup couldn't go outside because he needed 2 more parvo shots. He's made accommodations for my schedule and preferences that give me peace of mind. Non-judgement. At the time I was a new dog owner and was worried about being judged for not being a old pro. Also... sometimes my house isn't always in incredible order. ;) Aaron is incredibly non-judgemental but when asked will offer solid advice about what to do. This is super helpful for a new dog owner. He's also given me approachable and simple tips to make it easier on myself or my dog. He reinforces my pup's training and keeps me informed about anything of note during walks. Trust. The thing you don't think enough about when looking for a dog walker is how much a part of your life you're opening to them -- not only do you trust them with you dog but also coming into your home (keys, alarm codes, mess house, etc). With Aaron I have 100% faith and confidence. It was unnerving at first but now I have someone I trust that's looking out for my pup and I. When my pup and I see Aaron on the street my pup's enthusiasm and love for Aaron is plain to see. I hope you'll be able to see this from your own dog soon. read more

Aaron has been an amazing dog walker for our pup Niko. We recently moved and although we were excited about our new house, the hardest part was having to leave Aaron (we are too far outside of the area now). Aaron provided such invaluable peace of mind for us. We knew that during Niko's three walks per week she would be treated well, would be safe, and would have a blast playing with the other dogs. He is extremely flexible and understanding with no judgment. There was one day that we both were at work and forgot that Niko wasn't scheduled for a walk. I texted Aaron that morning and he picked Niko up for an unscheduled afternoon walk. In addition to his talents with dogs, Aaron is a gifted photographer and will send you adorable pictures of your pup playing. If you're still looking for a dog walker, stop. You've found the best. read more

We wanted to take the time out to thank Aaron for being so patient with our pups! They are a handful, but Aaron has been really flexible and patient with helping us figure out the best schedule and structure that fits both of their particular needs. read more

I am amazed at how well Aaron is able sense how a dog is feeling, which allows him to care, nurture, and keep them safe. Beyond just walking dogs, he works to train them to be better pets. Can't recommend his services enough. read more

There are not enough great things to say about Dog About Town! Aaron has been walking our dog Chaco for 6 months. In that time, there has been a drastic improvement in his leash manners as well overall behavior and doggie confidence. He gets some great dog socialization time, and he is always worn out and happy when he gets home. read more

We moved with our two dogs, Lusi and Toby, from SF to the East Bay in November, saying goodbye to our faithful walkers of 3 years. While Lusi is as crazy and outgoing as can be with all humans, Toby is a shy boy, and lets his guard down with a very select few. We knew it would take a while for him to trust just any old walker. He has been known to bolt from strangers. Aaron showed up, and on his first day walking the pups, quickly bonded bonded with both of them. After getting into their routine with weekday walks, Aaron identified and improved behaviors (e.g., recall), using great methods. It's been amazing to see such change in just a few days. Thanks to his regular reports, we feel connected to what is going on during the walks. It is hard enough to find a walker who you can trust with your babies, much less one that takes initiative with training. He also knows all of the East Bay hot spots for canines, which means they enjoy romping in the hills, grassy parks and the bay. One of these days Lusi will have Aaron trained to throw a ball into the bay for hours (hey, it gets the cow poop off, right?;);) read more

This is our first time using a dog walker for our 65 pound princess, and the results have been nothing short of spectacular! Aaron is a dog lover to the core and adores our crazy ball of energy. Most people find our dog intimidating, but from the get-go he was excited to work with her. He's extremely communicative and is great about posting updates and photos to Facebook and Twitter. Aaron is extremely quick to respond and totally works within our time constraints. Best of all, his service erases Mom guilt about being gone all day and we come home to a relaxed puppy! Couldn't recommend his services enough! read more

Aaron is fantastic! Super flexible, super reliable, and my dog loves him. Aaron has been taking Marlow out on his morning leashed walk and with the afternoon off leash group for the past six months and my dog is so happy (and tired!). Aaron is also really thoughtful. My dog has long hair and is pretty much a Velcro for burrs, and Aaron always brushes him after walks to get them out. So glad we found him! read more

Aaron is awesome! My dog Izzy started going on group walks at first twice a week but after just one week we decided to have her go full time because we noticed she was much more happy whenever Aaron took her on walks. She really enjoys her walks and has gotten used to waiting for him in the mornings. Aaron is super flexible if we need to add an extra walk, even last minute and give me periodic updates about her outings. We are very glad that we found Aaron and highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great dog walker who really cares about your dog. read more

Aaron is AWESOME! Super good natured and reliable; LOVES dogs and knows how to show them a good time. He's also well versed with SIRIUS and obedience training in general so the work you're doing with tour pup gets consistent reinforcement. Aaron is a terrific dog walker! We've used him for both pack walks and solo walks for our pup, and we've been very happy (and so has the dog). Aaron's dependable, responsive, and most importantly, he loves what he does! It was clear from the first time we met Aaron that he takes his business seriously. Having seen how our pup greets Aaron, we suspect he might even prefer Aaron to us. :) We can't say enough good things about Aaron and Dog About Town. read more

Aaron (and Zoe!) at Dog About Town are excellent! Over the last year and a half or so we've had the pleasure of working with Aaron, and he's been nothing but great. He's super flexible, well trained and takes great care of our two pooches. Both my husband and I have busy, non-traditional working hours and Aaron is really helpful about extra needs, like letting the pups out for one last potty break and giving them dinner before he goes. One of our dogs needs a solo walk versus pack playtime, and it's really nice having Aaron understand and take care of both of our dogs as their needs are quite different. As a bonus, now the billing system at Dog About Town is electronic--just one invoice per month, which is the icing on the cake! I highly recommend Aaron and Dog About Town--you pup will be safe, well socialized, happy and tired at the end of the day! read more

Aaron has been walking our great dane Harper for about a year now, and he's wonderful. Harper clearly loves him, as she gets super excited about 10 steps before he reaches our front door... even is she's in the middle of a nap, she knows he's close by and jumps up to be ready to greet him when he opens the door. Aaron is really gentle and loving with Harper, even when she doesn't behave so well at the park (occasionally she gets "inspired" to be close to the water, so she runs off toward the shore, sometimes with other dogs following her). He is patient and kind with her, and he also reinforces the training we've done with her so she gets practice with him as well as with us. Harper comes home happy and exhausted each day, so we know she gets good exercise while she's gone. Aaron is great at communicating with us, about any issues that arise with Harper, days he'll be gone on vacation (not very many, and usually tied to holidays to minimize inconvenience to us), and billing stuff. We can and do count on him, and he has very consistently come through for us for whole time we've been working with him. We appreciate Aaron's love and care for Harper, and we are thrilled to have him in her life. We can't recommend him highly enough if you're in the market for a dog walker. :) read more

My dog was 19 years old - off the age charts for a dog his size, 60 pounds in his prime. Because a new job required a long commute, I needed someone to come in and take him for an afternoon walk. Complicating things, I live up three flights of stairs, and Bandit needed to be carried on them. He was also having increasing trouble walking due to arthritis and hip dysplasia. Aaron came to our rescue. For the last two months of Bandit's life, Aaron faithfully provided private afternoon walks. I came home to a happily tuckered out dog. Aaron intuitively picked up on the best ways to keep him mobile on the days when his legs weren't working too well. Bandit even became more comfortable than he had been with my carrying him up and down the stairs. Other than me, my boyfriend, and the vet, Aaron was the last person my dog ever saw. I recommend Aaron and Dog About Town without hesitation. I look forward to the day when I have a young dog who can enjoy the group walks. read more

I'm so glad to have found Aaron! My dog really needs to romp around to burn off his terrier energy, so these off-leash walks are exactly what I was looking for. My little guy also has a shy side, he's a rescue who typically doesn't let new people pet him - but he allowed Aaron to pet him immediately. A sure sign that Aaron has a gift with dogs! When my dog was having a behavioral issue, I let Aaron know about the situation and he not only accommodated my requests about my dog's care, but has regularly checked in to see how the little guy is doing. Couldn't ask for more or be more satisfied! read more

I don't know what we would do without Aaron. He stepped in when we lost our beloved dog walker of 6 years, and our dog Milo fell in love. Milo waits near the door for Aaron to arrive, and he always comes back from his hikes happy. I have had some really terrible dog care experiences and so I was very relieved to find Dog About Town!
