Horrible experience. They charged me $1400 (quoted $700) to move apartment furniture a block over into my new apartment...I specify apartment because it's not a lot of furniture. Put together my furniture very poorly. I had to repair my bedroom furniture and my couch because they were careless...they didn't even properly screw the furniture back together so the legs underneath my bed actually fell over and a section of my couch is jacked up. Would not recommend whatsoever. read more

Never use this company. I have used them 5 times over the past 5 years, with the last three being 11/22; 3/23 and 5/23. The service has gotten progressively worse, especially the front office and sales staff (Matt Crites in particular). Mr. Crites, even though they had moved my items from their warehouse to a storage unit in the past month, significantly under bid the job to move my household into my new home. Once I received the additional bill, all he did was call to state "that was my mistake and on him". He did not rectify the significant overbilling and lack of manpower. The movers were not able to move my furniture and had to leave some in the garage as they could not lift it with just 2 people. Now I need to pay further to have this moved. Dodge was great from start to finish! Trish was spot on with the estimate. The movers placed every thing in the truck with care protecting all of our furniture. the 3 men they sent were very nice and polite. I only remember one of the names, Terrell? but they were all nice and have been working at Dodge for over 8 yrs each. This was a local move so I was worried about the price compared to others. Dodge was right in the middle and the cheaper one was only sending 2 older men and probably would have taken twice as long. was very happy with Dodge and their service. We had an excellent experience Dodge/Mayflower. Ours was not the easiest move to plan - splitting house into two locations, across country. Then, the plan changed, so we had to rebid. Our sales rep, Mary Pilliterri was always patient and explained her bid as many times as we called with questions. And, her coordinator, Susan Saale, was also professional and proactive. In all, I think we had one chipped glass, and it's one we packed. And, we had 100+ boxes (and, I don't think we're hoarders). Highly recommend. read more

Neglect and lack of care for all My items. From packing to packing the truck. Tossing items up in a pile , taped cardboard onto my Load so it did not fall out ! Found soda inside the middle of my things in truck. Good wrappers inside my clothing boxes . Cracks , dents , broken and lost items . Over $6000 in damage claimed. Their lack of professionalism and response is pathetic. Finally the main office got wind of the issue not dodge never checked up on the details. I had a great experience because of the incredible customer service from start to finish. There is no perfect move, whether you do it yourself or hire movers. With this in mind, my cross-country moving experience with Dodge/ Mayflower came pretty close to perfection because of my moving coordinator, Cindy. To be frank, my movers came about 2-3 hours past the scheduled time slot (because of a larger-than-anticipated move they had before me). When they arrived though, they did not rush me and took great care to wrap all of my furniture. A quality control manager was with the two other movers and he took the time to answer all of my questions and oversaw everything else. Cindy called me throughout the day to make sure that my movers had arrived, and when they didn't she tracked them down and kept me updated, and then made sure everything went smoothly. Even though it took two weeks to receive my items, Cindy gave me detailed updates throughout this period. On drop off day, true to form, Cindy continued to make sure that everything went smoothly. Cindy made me feel like I was her only client and that my happiness was her success. She never said "no" to me and when something seemed difficult or not within "the rules," she always had a solution ready for me. Given the terrifying reviews for the moving industry in general, your moving coordinator is really the key to ensuring that you have a smooth transition. read more

Dodge Moving & Storage Co., Inc. ("Dodge Moving") was recommended based on my search on a national site that finds reputable companies. The estimate was performed by a gentleman who stated that he was new to providing estimates. Despite this information, I still thought he provided a fair quote. A crew of five people showed up on the moving day. The lead stated that he had a new crew member that was in being trained in how to inventory items. She inventoried while the guys disassembled items. Everything was going okay until the crew realized in the middle of packing that they ran out of essential materials for a move. These items include boxes and protective materials. At that point, they started wrapping our glass items and white dining room chairs with large black moving cloths and tape. The crew disassembled three beds, tables, and a couch set. Near the end of packing, the crew lead was expressing his displeasure with the crew about the way the semi-truck was packed. A call had to placed for a second truck to complete the job. Our items were sent to the Dodge Moving in Earth City, Missouri. Our drop off date and location had to be changed several times and the company was willing to work with us regarding these changes. The Delivery: The delivery of our items fell below our expectations. The crew lead informed me that "he didn't have the correct number of crew members for our job so it would be a late night." During the delivery, a crew member said: "Sir, you should have paid us to pack your glass and chairs because this method was risky." I didn't inform him that I had actually paid for the professional packing of those items. Our household items were being unloaded by three men. Due to the shortage of the crew, the lead attempted to talk me out verifying our inventory while the movers brought things into our house. We inventoried while they read off the numbers upon entering the house and putting items down. The BEDS: The reassembly of our beds were not done properly. The crew said that they didn't know how to properly put the items back together. I was advised to contact the crew who disassembled the beds to assist me. The beds were left with loose and stripped screws. One of the beds even had the screw removal drill bit still in it. It took me hours to move parts to the correct beds so that my children could have an appropriate place to sleep as they prepared for school the next day. The crew lead called into headquarters and annotated that he thought "the bed frames warped from the heat of the storage" but the company didn't address his notes. When I unwrapped our dining room chairs, we found that there was a black haze on them from the cloths. This item was claimed and resolved. Glass items that were packed were left wrapped and leaning against the wall for us to unpack. The glass for the dining room table and the curio were left for us to assemble. As a disabled Vet that's not what I paid for. it was a long night. We had a couch that was lost in the warehouse. It was recovered and delivered on August 19th. We were told that it was stored separately from our other items. Our list of damaged items includes but not limited to: White dining room chairs with a black haze (requiring replacement) Standing mirror broken in multiple places (requiring replacement) Master Dresser (requiring repair) Master Mirror for dresser (requiring repair/replacement) I would not recommend this company as we only moved 45 minutes away and yet sustained several broken items. Some of these same items were moved long distances without damage. I can only be lead to believe that the negligent actions of this company lead to the broken items. We paid for disassembly, packing, and assembly. This service was unsatisfactory due to the fact that out of five large items (three beds, one dining room table, and curio cabinet), only one item was completely assembled by Dodge Moving. I was in the military and moved several times without this level of issues. By far this move has been one of my worst experiences. We are very happy that the insurance plan was purchased in addition to our homeowner's policy. When I called to inquired about the status of our claim, I wasn't given a time frame to expect repayment for the damaged items. Our settlement letter was dated, September 23, 2019, but the check is dated October 22, 2019. The discrepancy between the letter and check date is misleading although they were sent together in one envelope postmarked October 24, 2019. The settlement letter should be explained in more detail. The check is dated two months and ten days after our moving date. read more

They moved a bedroom set for us that was only a year and half old. Pristine shape. They tore up 4 of the 6 pieces to my bedroom set! The movers admitted what they had done as they brought the pieces into our house. They said they were sorry! They did not wrap ANY of our bedroom furniture as described on their website. We have fought with the company only to hear they understand our frustration and they issued us a check for $258.00! And that is that. To sad and too late I have found many other complaints about this on line where they ruin your furniture and you do not get reimbursed. NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company. Heartbreaking. read more

We contracted for this move with Dodge-Mayflower. Donna from Dodge was very nice, but she is just the sales person. The shipment went straight to their warehouse and will be there for more than one week. According to the assigned driver (who hasn't picked it up yet), the delivery will not be within the contracted delivery span. He doesn't even work for Mayflower - they have combined with United and neither one of these organizations have enough drivers to make their delivery dates. The customer contact who has been assigned to us just keeps telling me she can't do anything, she's not the one who plans routes. DONT USE THEM!!!!! read more

Our experience with Dodge-Mayflower was very much like Sammy N's. On the day they picked up our stuff I overheard the movers say that they did not have a truck for our shipment even though we had a contractual delivery window. Ours stuff came in two deliveries. One 7 days late and the other 16 days late. When the first delivery arrived the Mayflower people responsible for unloading the truck diid not show up due to car problems. Six hours later the driver was able to round up a guy from a nearby town and his high school aged son who unloaded the truck. When the second shipment arrived 16 days late in crates and the movers opened those crates and my stuff tumbled out onto my driveway they were quick to point out that they did not load these crates and weren't responsible for the any damage that may have occurred. Six months later we are still haggling with Mayflower over a damage claim. Throughout this engagement Mayflower has been very much "what do you expect us to do about it" and "that's it, take it or leave it" in their approach to our damages claim. Mayflower seems to operate a very fragmented process that involves outside agents, independent operators, and handoffs that no one seems to have overall responsibility for or have any real ability to manage. read more

If I could I would give them 0 starts. Worst experience ever!!! NO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We paid for a a full pack and move. The packers were to spend 2 full days packing our house. They worked sporadically and on the second day half of them did not show. On the third day the movers showed up to load and our house was still not packed. After communicated this to Dodge in Earth City on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd day, they finally sent out additional help. At this time the packers were frantically shoving our stuff into boxes. LITERALLY REMOVING DRAWERS AND DUMPING THE ENTIRE CONTENTS INTO BOXES THAT HAD NO PAPER. Needless to say we ended up with 5 pages of broken items due to their haste and terrible packing job. If this was not enough, my son had 4 xbox games and his controllers STOLEN or that box was "lost". I doubting it was lost because 7 games with the console made it our house all together in a box. I Also had some jewelry that went missing. Their follow up and concern for this shit show was a joke. Still trying to resolve issues 9 months later. read more

I haven't even gotten to the moving part! This company was recommended as my future employer's "preferred mover" so I contacted them (in February) and was initially impressed by the references they provided and their seemingly helpful staff. I was told to call back in early May for my late July move. I did this and they quickly scheduled my in home survey. Then things went downhill quickly. After the in home survey I requested an estimate and no one returned my emails or calls. I then was called again twice to schedule an in home survey! Eventually they figured things out and found the survey. They then told me that they had several days that I could have the pickup and planned things out for a container move so they could store my belongings so that I could choose my delivery date. After numerous back and forth emails and phone calls (usually them taking at least 3 days to respond) I asked for move to be scheduled. I was then told that they had no available pickup dates within several weeks of when I needed to move. I started this process SIX MONTHS in advance of my move. They dragged their feet at every step. Then they tell me 3 weeks out from my move that they cannot do my move. While they are polite and cheerful, they have managed to completely botch my move and leave me scrambling for an alternative solution with three weeks notice. I cannot believe how they could be my employer's preferred mover and I will do everything possible to ensure they no longer are. The only up side to this experience is that they have not yet had the opportunity to move my things. Please do not waste your time with these people, I regret continuing past the first warning sign. read more
