I've struggled for a bit with my upstairs HVAC unit. The unit was poorly installed, low quality,…read moreand way oversized. When I first moved in, it sounded like a freight train was taking off when the second stage kicked in, and papers/curtains would literally fly around the room. I've had two other techs come look at it so far. The first tech disconnected the second stage, which caused a ton of humidity issues last summer. The second tech said he could dump the extra air in the garage or outside. I gave up last year and ran a dehumidifier to make it through the end of summer. This summer, I decided I'd try one more time before looking at replacement units. Ben Fraser from Roscoe Brown came out and spent quite a bit of time digging in. He found one major issue - the TXV was not set properly, so the unit was not cooling properly. He reconfigured the valve and reconnected the 2nd stage. Finally, he adjusted the airflow to be much more reasonable for the ductwork. The result is much cooler air, much better dehumidification, and no more freight train! It's not perfect, but it will keep me from having to buy a new unit for several more years. The price was fairly high compared to some of the non-name-brand techs, but the results were great. I was happy with the price considering the results.

Becareful when selecting this company for work…read more **Disappointed and Frustrated - Poor Service and No Accountability** I hired this company to repair a faulty circuit, and while it was fixed the **first time**, the same circuit failed **again--without ever being used**. When they returned for a second visit, instead of diagnosing the real issue, the technician wrongly accused us of using it for a **pellet grill**--completely false. Now the circuit is **out again**, still unused, and I'm met with **excuses** instead of solutions. Even worse, I was charged a **second diagnostic fee** for the same unresolved issue they were supposed to fix the first time. To top it off, the technician communicated with the **office**, not the **homeowner**, leaving us in the dark about our options. I called him with some questions related to wiring concerns in my 1930s house, expecting it to result in an on-site visit with trip charges, etc. He took the time to understand, ask direct questions and explain his viewpoint. Then he talked me out of getting service at this time because it wasn't necessary! That kind of direct, honest dealing is in short supply in this day and age.
