The work was ok, it was small addon for my divorce filing, so it's not like it was rocket science but I didn't have time for it so here we are. The real prob was the attitude, you'd think people would be nice to those handing them cash, but not with Genie (my personal nickname for her cuz she makes your zen and happiness disappear in a flash). It turns out that courts or any govt office prefers names to be spelled correctly, especially names of parties involved or businesses involved. So after waiting several weeks only to be told my documents are not in order, I had to resubmit them after a true professional made sure they didn't look like a 5th grader put them together. AVOID THIS SERVICE - Failed Filings Over 19 Months In February 2024, I hired this document preparation service to file a small claims case for a flat fee of $500. After payment, communication became poor and unresponsive. Over 19 months, she filed the case at least 2-3 times. Each filing was rejected by the court due to procedural errors. The most recent filing, in January 2025, was rejected just 2-3 weeks ago (August 14, 2025) with a list of nine distinct procedural errors, including miscalculations. Throughout this process, my attempts to get simple status updates were met with resistance and a combative attitude. She treated basic communication as a burden, often refusing to answer calls or provide information, stating she would contact me only when there was news. This left me in the dark for months at a time between each failed filing. I was consistently polite and professional in all interactions, hoping to facilitate progress on my case. Despite a flat-fee agreement, she acted as if client communication was an unnecessary inconvenience. After 19 months and payment of $500+, I have no result. She has failed to perform the service paid for and maintains an unacceptable standard of customer service. I strongly advise seeking help elsewhere. You could do better to have AI write documentation. Her client was sadly a victim of elder abuse. The documentation that was firmly established prior to her client's death was overturned during that last few days of life and this woman knowing participated in the elder abuse. Last year my husband filed for divorce and I ended up trusting this place to get all my paperwork done so that I could get my fair share of our stuff. Obv the courts set a date by which you need to respond, so naturally you relay that info to any company you happen to be using when dealing with the courts so that they get you the stuff you need ON TIME. Imagine my stress levels as that date kept getting closer and closer and every time I called here I kept getting reassured that "it'll be done soon" or "just one more thing". Evidently my faults include being too trusting and a pushover, because I kept accepting that answer until literally the last g&dd@#n second when I got my papers. I was recommended by a good friend of the family Jeanine's services I had faith going in and was very excited for her help. I reached out Wednesday evening with details of the work I needed. She contacted me the next morning and I was advised by Jeanine to send paperwork via email. I reached out again on Friday, no response. I waited, and waited, I even emailed her again on Saturday the importance of this email filing. No response. FINALLY after days we spoke she said she was busy all week and I couldn't get back to me. I'm VERY dissatisfied with the services that I received from the owner of this business (Jeanine Vaughan). She first asked for $575, but when I met with her, she charged an extra for meeting with me and requested $665 that was totally a waste! As soon as she cashed my check, I was having a hard time to get hold of her. She hardly did anything with writing the documents and the little writing that she did was filled with wrong dates and incorrect statements/grammar! After speaking on the phone with Jeanine Newman regarding my divorce I thought she sounded nice and helpful. Turns out this is only to get you in the door. I filed for divorce from my husband, in pro per. During my first appointment with Mrs. Newman she took a great deal of notes and told me how she was going to proceed with my divorce. I felt confident that everything was going to be taken care of. The only complication to my divorce was that my ex husband was deployed at the time, causing delays in him receiving the paperwork, etc. She assured me all of this was not an issue. I was charged extra for mail service fees. Later I discovered she left some of my requests out of my divorce paperwork, ultimately costing me about $400. As the process went on I began to have questions, especially with my ex coming back and us needing to sign papers. She was very rude when I called, stating multiple times that she "did not have time" to update us about our case or answer questions regarding it. She owns another business in Oceanside and she just seemed agitated when I called her, like she had better things to do at her other business. As time went on after more papers were signed and submitted to the court I wondered why I had yet to receive anything. This was after the time frame she had given to expect paperwork. I called and emailed Mrs. Newman a few times to ask where they were and if everything with the case was OK, only to receive no response. I finally called the courthouse and discovered that my case had been "rejected" due to a filing error on her part. (This ultimately delayed my divorce by 9 days. When you want to be rid of your cheating ex, 9 days in a long time to add onto six months!) When I called her to tell her my case had been rejected she made it seem like it was ridiculous I was even calling. The mistake was clearly hers (HER missing signature) yet she was extremely rude to me on the phone, stating repeatedly that "these things happen" and she had "no idea why I was so upset". I was upset because I paid her $800 to have to check up on things myself! My case was very simple. My ex and agreed on everything. There was no reason there should have been any issues with the case. I understand that mistakes can be made, but that is no excuse for being rude, ignoring questions and avoiding phone calls. Save yourself time, money and worry by finding someone else to handle your legal issues or handling your divorce on your own, like I wish I had now. read more
