Laura helped tremendously via divorce coaching. My spouse and I employed a mediation attorney in our own county, and each had our own attorney in our own county review the actual agreement once drafted. However, a few times along the way, I had questions and Laura was responsive and very clear in helping me understand things. Laura explains things better/more clearly than the other people I worked with. For example, she explained "reservation of jurisdiction" with more context and more thorougly than the mediation attorney and my own attorney, along with its limitations and scenarious where it has really made a difference, but did not subvert what the parties intended. I've also found valuable the general webinars where I'd heard Laura speak prior to engaging her help. Laura also helped with how to frame alternatives I was presenting. She was very sensitive to the emotional tone that we wanted to maintain (our goal was having a divorce that honored our marriage and where we had no regrets about the manner/process of the divorce itself), and suggested phrases that captured things in the warm and constructive tone that was my goal. read more

Laura was available and responsive in an extremely difficult time in our lives. She provided the correct documents, was responsive, by the book, and direct when needed. She was patient when my ex was difficult to work with and continued to push things through the finish line in an amicable and appropriate fashion. Don't hesitate to reach out to Laura! read more

Laura is extremely rude, insulting and unprofessional. She's not neutral at all and the result of our 30 minute consultation had disastrous consequences for me as she clearly sided with my husband and gave him unsolicited legal advice in his favor. I left because she wasn't helpful in any way! read more

Laura provided the most comfortable and seamless mediation process, explaining each step of the process so we knew what to do next. Her speedy service led to an amicable settlement, saving us hundreds of thousands in legal fees. She provided referrals to experts when needed who answered all our questions, and even had someone available to transfer the property deed at our final signing. I highly recommended Leave Strong Divorce Service if you want a stress-free and efficient path to completing the divorce process on time. All the meetings were easy to schedule, and Laura made everyone feel comfortable. Thank you Laura.... read more

Going through a divorce is challenging emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It's a complex process with many layers that have potential to become complicating. I do believe mediation is the best route, but I would advise anyone thinking about using mediation to do your homework first. Our initial beginnings were a bit bumpy because of my lack of fully understanding. But once I understood the process and what to expect from Laura our mediator the process seemed to go more smoothly. Laura was professional, friendly, neutral and caring. After several meetings which included additional sessions, I felt seen and heard, something that was important to me. In the end and because of Laura's expertise and knowledge we were finally able to come to a fair and equitable resolution. Thank you, Laura! Keep up the good work. read more

Do Not Use Leave Strong Divorce Services. When she calculated the support values using the DissoMaster program, she only used my income while assigning no income to my ex spouse. My ex spouse was voluntarily unemployed and was fully capable of finding employment at an income that would have exceeded my income. This skewed the amount of support in favor of my ex spouse. We were in a mediation session and she was suppose to be non-bias and represent both parties. She did not. I sent several emails to inquire about this issue and never got a reply. Laura also never returned my phone calls. read more

Military service personnel and veterans. Do NOT use Leave Strong for divorce mediation. She cost me tens of thousands of dollars by not explaining the implications of COLA on military pension splits with military retired pay. She was actively giving my ex spouse divorce advice even as we sat in the same room during divorce mediation. I greatly regret and am personally suffering a loss of tens of thousands because she was not upfront and neutral during mediation. PM me for more details. read more

Laura was my divorce coach for two and a half years while my husband and I were in mediation with a high-conflict divorce specialist. She quickly became my most trusted advisor and instrumental in helping me navigate the thorny and often unpredictable steps of my lengthy divorce. I cannot say enough good things about her. Her ability to view issues from multiple perspectives, explore solutions, and devise a strategy to support the path is remarkable. In our sessions, we developed ideas and corresponding arguments to present during mediation negotiations, and her experience was crucial in helping me negotiate the terms of our Martial Settlement Agreement. Laura is warm, personable, and always professional, with a great sense of humor, which is helpful when your world is full of legal landmines that can alter your life's course forever. I found scheduling time with Laura through her online booking system easy, and she is always punctual on Zoom and phone. She is an excellent listener, passionate about her work, and responsive to emails. Her curiosity drives her to continue to educate herself both inside and outside the legal world and to expand her network with stellar professionals, which benefits you greatly as a client. I warmly recommend anyone about to embark on a divorce, to start by talking to Laura, either in her capacity as a mediator or divorce coach. She can help you devise a strategy and break it into logical, tactical steps to propel the process forward while staying mindful of cost and time. I worked with several professionals throughout the divorce, from CDFAs to attorneys, and Laura was hands down the most valuable member of my divorce team. I am confident that you, too, will find her services to be worth every penny. read more

Laura stands by both parties as neutral as can be. She was always very responsive, wanting to be as helpful as possible. Very glad to have been referred to her. If you can use a mediator over an attorney, she is your go to. During the entire process, she helps both parties see the logic. Her costs are affordable. Highly recommend for a difficult situation . Give her a call, she wants to help. read more

Laura was very neutral through our divorce and truly intended to bring the best possible outcome for both parties. She explained everything clearly and always intended to be fair to all. Laura was also quite generous with her time and very mindful of where the divorce was putting my ex husband and I at financially. She made the process smooth , simple and as least costly as possible for us which we really appreciated. read more

I worked with Laura this past year and couldn't recommend her enough. I had a somewhat tricky dynamic with my ex husband, as he was not keen to participate in the process, and Laura handled it with grace and flexibility. She has a wonderful demeanor, is very knowledgeable, and puts you right at ease. You are in good hands with her services! read more

Going through a divorce is quite a challenging process with layers of complications. Laura made it seamless and helped us navigate all the complexities to achieve an amicable outcome that we had not anticipated. Thank you Laura. read more

My husband and I met with Laura a few weeks ago for our 30 min consultation and knew right away she would be the one to help us with our divorce. After only 2 more sessions we were able to complete all our paperwork! She was so kind and made us feel comfortable and at ease through the entire process, what would have been such a stressful experience had we gone with attorneys. I would definitely recommend her should you decide you'd like a caring, fair, and experienced mediator to help with your divorce. Thanks again for all your help Laura! read more

Laura is the best divorce mediator, hands down! She saved us 10's of thousands of dollars and made our divorce as amicable as it could be. We were able to be divorced 6 months to the day because of her and got our paperwork back from the court 1 month before the 6 months was up which is unheard of when you have minor children involved. She is compassionate, and is really able to play devil's advocate for both sides when needed. I highly recommend Laura! She offers a support group for women going through divorce/seperation as well. read more

My husband and I met with Laura and were immediately set at ease. It was an amicable divorce and we both just needed the peace of mind of tying up all the loose ends. Laura was knowledgable and explained the process to us in detail. She let each of us know what we were entitled to while also respecting our choices to distribute our assets in the way we thought was most fair. She let us know what to do at each step and answered our questions patiently. When there were paperwork errors from the court (not at all Laura's fault), she was able to quickly respond and keep us on track. I'd recommend Laura for any couple looking for unbiased advice and support through a divorce. She is very experienced and knows the system well. read more

Laura's services are outstanding! After 20+ years of marriage and 3 school aged kids to take care of, there was a lot to settle on and tremendous emotion involved. She was so patient with us through the process as we took years to resolve, and we appreciated being able to work through it at a pace that was comfortable for us. Her knowledge and neutrality were paramount in helping us mediate peacefully through the divorce process. I highly recommend Laura! read more

My ex and I started the mediation process with a different mediator. We interviewed four mediators in North County and chose one that was also in Carlsbad (and has lots of yelp reviews, no names...). We ended up paying for our mediation twice. It was such a bad experience with the first mediator that we ended up switching to Laura midway through. The other one was not organized, not detail oriented, took sides, and it sure didn't feel like mediation. It was worth every penny to switch to Laura and I am so glad that we made that decision. Please, save yourself some time and agony and just start the process with Laura. Laura is professional, takes the time to explain everything, understands how difficult this process is and has so much knowledge and patience. She is extremely responsive and everything she told us was correct. My ex and I are amicable and I feel like some of that is due to Laura and how smoothly she got us through the process. Both of us felt like the solutions were fair. We have even had to go back to her for a tiny tweak and it was painless. I would highly recommend her and if you are choosing between any mediators, choose Laura with confidence. She is fair, even, extremely competent and thorough and will treat both of you with fairness. read more

I am so confused with these reviews. She became unresponsive after the first meeting because my husband was having a hard time getting himself to schedule the next to come to terms. Instead of explaining why she wouldn't respond to my emails asking for advice on how to keep moving forward, she went dark. She was of no help when I was unsure of what to do and how to continue. Even if we needed lawyers, she could have responded. I know we could have come to terms through mediation, as it was not a high conflict divorce, it was just a disagreement about financials. Mediation is mean to help two people come to terms in an amicable situation like we were in. We had to hire lawyers because I didn't know what else to do, but we ended up coming to terms without them and just paying them to do the paperwork. Again, I don't know why Laura felt she needed to just completely ghost us. I was patient until weeks went by and she didn't respond. Instead of explaining how advice could pull her out of a neutral place and pointing me to solutions or recommendations, she just didn't respond. It was a scary time and it was not a professional response. She also is frequently out of the office/out of town. read more

Laura McGee is a compassionate, experienced, and knowledgeable divorce attorney and mediator. In just a few short meetings, she educated us about the California divorce process and carefully listened as we explained our situation. She then skillfully and painlessly guided us through all the necessary decisions and paperwork. She made a very difficult situation expedient and efficient, going out of her way to complete our divorce in a very short timeframe. I will be forever grateful for Laura's help, and I highly recommend her for anyone who is considering divorce. read more

Laura made the whole process of divorce easy and straightforward. Highly recommended.

I was in a very frantic state of needing to consult an expert on child support matters and chose Laura based off of the Yelp reviews. I am so grateful for her quick responsiveness and willingness to schedule a complimentary 30 minute consultation so quickly. She was right on time for our appointment and guided me through the call with clear communication, compassion, and a tremendous amount of knowledge about the subject at hand. I am so grateful for the time we were able to talk, because it literally helped guide me in the next steps. I will definitely contact Laura in the future for any additional needs, and will recommend her to my friends going through similar situations. read more

Laura was the perfect person to work with us on what was an amicable and respectful dissolution of our marriage. She was extremely professional and managed the tedious paperwork on our behalf. For those considering working through an online vendor - I would highly recommend going with Laura instead - just for the piece of mind of working with one specific and experienced person. read more

My ex and I were amicable and thought it would be good to get guidance for our divorce through a mediator. The mediation sessions in her office were a waste of time. She was not helpful at all and on a couple of issues simply muddied the water which caused the discussion to drag on much longer than it should have. We ended up meeting outside of her office to discuss and agree to the terms of our divorce. We both had attorneys and one of them drafted the final MSA, so we could get it done. Paying her was a waste of money as we accomplished the end result without her help! read more

Laura is honest, fair, easily approachable, and knows how to empathize with one's predicament while navigating through a very difficult situation--the dissolution of a marriage. Unlike the first mediator, we saw who was conniving, unprofessional, and dishonest, to say the least. We are grateful to have found and worked with Laura after that bad experience with the first mediator we saw. I highly recommend Laura of Leave Strong Divorce Services. You will be glad to have worked with her. read more

Laura made the whole process of getting a divorce so much less stressful and scary. Even a relatively amicable divorce can be extremely hard. We used a Mediator but I liked having someone to call when I had questions. I felt like she gave me honest answers and helped me decide what was important to me and what wasn't worth worrying about. It was so nice to have someone who had my best interest at heart and didn't tell me things either based on wanting me to agree, or wanting me to litigate. read more

My husband and I met with Laura today. We got right down to business, it was the 1/2 hour consultation. She had read my description of our needs, and was prepared to give us the information we needed. She explained how divorce, legal separation and other options work in regard to our Trust and assets. She went right to work and printed out papers showing how our money should be split. She charged a minimal amount for her time and gave us options for writing up legal contracts if we need them. She was very thorough, friendly and knowledgable. Thank you Laura, you made this painless and helped us keep the process civil. read more

If you are trying to complete divorce documents by yourself, need assistance with document assembly and completion, or are seeking to mediate with your spouse, Laura McGee should be your first phone call! One of the value added features that Laura offers and which is unique to this divorce clinic is that Laura is actually an attorney! Originally trained in Canada, Laura moved here and wanted to have a more relaxed practice focused on assisting couples to dismantle their marriages, rather than litigating in court. Her company, Leave Strong Divorce Clinic provides just that- document preparation and completion, divorce mediation, and divorce coaching. Because Laura leaves the litigation to other attorneys, her rates are incredibly affordable. During a process which could be incredibly stressful, her amicable demeanor is a godsend. read more

I found Laura extremely helpful during my recent divorce. It was my husband who found her as we planned our divorce. Our desire was to keep things as low-conflict as possible as we continued to co-parent our children. Mediation seemed like a better option than litigation. We just signed our final paperwork and, looking back, I would choose Laura again. She was professional, respectful, and pragmatic. If you are in the difficult situation of figuring out how to divorce, I highly recommend at least an initial consultation with Laura. read more

There is very little chance that divorce mediation is going to be painless or easy, but I will tell you, the process was a LOT less painful than I had anticipated, thanks to Laura. Not only was her fee totally doable, and fair (that was a huge issue as we looked for a mediator---), but the time and support she provided was perfect and always felt productive, despite the details of our particular situation and energy. Laura not only kept the process moving along but what she asked us to provide prior to our meetings was very appropriate and didn't feel like we were "on our own." She is with you every step of the way, providing guidance, and equitable advice, which we reeeeeeally needed. She was so patient and supportive, and provides a lot of insight because of her experience, as well as her knowledge of divorce counseling. I really can't say enough about her. She's easygoing and approachable while at the same time, firm and focused when necessary. She gets it done, believe me. I am so grateful for finding Laura. Hopefully I won't need her again, haha! But if I do, I would not hesitate. I HIGHLY recommend her. Thank you, Laura. :). esw read more

Laura was selected by my ex-wife as our mediator. I deferred to her wishes and went along. Laura is certainly a friendly and calming person, but she was little more than a glorified document service provider. There was little in the way of guidance in terms of division of the assets or facilitating that process. It was left to my ex-wife and me to make proposals and discuss them with each other in front of Laura. We had a subsequent issue to address through a court order for enforcement. The judge noted that the MSA was "very poorly written". While we both had attorneys review the document prepared by Laura, she was the author and should have provided better guidance and wording for an element that was mildly beyond the otherwise boiler plate MSA. The lack of input from the reviewing attorneys is a separate issue. Laura can effectively prepare your documents for you, but I would not suggest relying on her to guide you through any real conflict. read more
