There was no waiting, no appointment needed, she was able to do the exam immediately. The exam, without using any insurance was $60 and $120 if I needed a prescription for contacts. She was professional, friendly, easy to talk to and down to earth. She answered all my questions and conducted, what I believe to be a thorough exam. I would definitely recommend Dr. Strahan and I plan on using her services in the future.

The doctor came into the room with a receipt like paper and stated my eyes had changed and that she would write me a new prescription (She had not even done my exam at this point herself only the tech did some things in another room). Then stated lets go ahead and check everything anyways though. She set the machine to the numbers on the slip and said you should be able to see good and clear with these settings. I could not as it was blurry a bit still. So she made some adjustments and called it good, never wrote anything down just sent me out and handed the receipt to another lady who finally gave me my prescription to go order glasses. So I called about my prescription being off as I've gotten 3 pairs of glasses and all 3 pairs my right eye I cannot see out of the glasses properly (I was previously told to just wear them and my eyes will adjust), I was told I would have to pay for another exam, more money $$$ down the drain ($100 to be exact), I asked to speak with the manager about this issue and I was told she would leave a message for the doctor as the lady I spoke with stated she was the manager and that there was nothing she was going to do and it would be up to the doctor. We will see if I ever get a response. They've already failed to return any of the previous messages I've left during regular business hours concerning this issue. I could not take off of work to get this fixed so i just wore my previous pair of glasses. I've already spent $600.00 on glasses that the prescription is not correct in. After reviewing this with the place I ordered my glasses from it seems that my prescription is only off by .25 and the lady who answered the phone stated that it had change by that much. I don't believe there was a change I believe it was an actual input error. I shall see soon if they even return my call to see how they go about making this right since I've already had my exam within less than a years date. At this point I recommend going somewhere else so you don't run into the same issue and waste time & money just trying to have it done right.

I have had problems with my eyes for over 2 years due to an autoimmune disease. He just dismissed it and said that it's allergies and told me to get some drop over the counter that cost $25.99. I am now in the process of trying to go see a specialist in Houston because the Dr here don't seem to really want to listen to what I have to tell them. I have had so many test done on my eyes and asked him to get them from my other Dr in Las Vegas and he straightened out said no I don't need them it's just allergies. I left there broken hearted and with still infected eyes and when I told him I was out of the drops that normally help he just brushed it off. So my primary care Dr. Does listen and he sent a script in so I could get them. Maybe don't be so cocky and listen to your patients. Just take the time to act like you care.

The contact lense…read moredepartment here simply refuses to follow what I understand are contract requirements that are followed by other Berkeley eye centers and while I could drive further to another Berkeley eye center to avoid this particular Berkeley, the answer was simple: there are other eye doctors in town willing to process claims correctly. So I simply let my feet do the talking. Adios. Really it's too bad though since I've been going to Mann Berkeley way back in the 90's and then followed Berkeley after the split with Mann. But one bad apple (or store) can ruin everything.

The clinic is busy, but the system and secretaries make things run quite smooth. I'm a rather difficult case, presenting with angle recession glaucoma following an injury I had over 15 years ago. After a botched attempt in changing my eyedrop regiment at another clinic, Dr. Coburn's team accepted me as a patient and asked me to come by ASAP. As bad as the situation was, Dr. Coburn set me back on the right path. When I'm in a critical point in my care, the doctors here are willing to make exceptions. Dr. Queen has placed a beautiful shunt in my eye. I can't see it. Post-op check ups are frequent and I feel comfortable as a patient. Compared to other clinics, communication is quick and much needed emergency visits are taken seriously. Hard to get care this good anywhere.

Dr. Lee is hilarious, forward, and has a great bedside manner. He thoroughly explains my diagnoses and treatment options and always lets me decide how I want to treat my chronic illness without forcing his medical opinion - yet he gives good support and advice. The treatment and care I've received is why I always tell my husband if anything ever happens to me, take me to Methodist for treatment. You feel like you're on Grey's Anatomy with all of the med students, fellows, and residents that accompany him, but you also learn more about your illness/situation. I can't recommend Dr. Lee and Methodist Eye enough to those in need of specialist care.

I gave Dr. Ullman's office a try (it's currently Broadway Vision, I believe) and was really happy! He listened as I described that my old prescription for one of my eyes wasn't working very well and that my contacts seemed scratchy in my eyes, and I could tell he focused on trying to help me with those issues. I didn't feel rushed through my exam at all, as I've had with other eye doctors (you know, when they're flipping those lenses back and forth as fast as they can go and you barely have time to register which one looks better?). The selection of frames isn't huge, but it's surely worth checking through! One of the women working there was wonderful in checking color/fit options in the frames I liked. At first my main plan was just to get my current frames updated with new lenses, and to check to see if I might like any other frames. I did find some and then hee-hawed around, trying to decide whether to get them, come back later, or not get them at all. I LOVED and VERY much appreciated that I didn't feel pressured even a little tiny bit to get the new ones. Which I eventually did. :) Oh--and their exam prices were the best I could find after 5 calls around!
