There were times I thought they would just give up, as it was literally like something out of a movie. Multiple contractors and engineers told us they have never seen anything like it in thier lives. We are in the drying and anti mold phase, Lou reassured us he would be back regularly to monitor and treat as needed. Lou explained everything each step along the way, and why he had to do certain things. It ended up being a much bigger project than he expected, but he honored the quoted price. Avoid the big guys with the fancy trucks, Lou and his guys will run circles around them.

I made an appointment with the above company on February 19 for a February 28 cleaning. I received…read morea text message at 9pm the night before stating that all appointments have been canceled due to weather. As someone who is a supervisor and leads a team on daily basis, I completely agree on ensuring everyone is safe, especially when weather can be dangerous. In the text message the guidance given is to reach out to the company and reschedule. The very next day on March 1 I reach out to the company to reschedule. I receive a text message back two hours later stating that there is an opening on Thursday, 2 March at 12:30pm. I agree to the appointment. The day of, at 12:30pm I text at 1231 and mention that I am home, please advise when you arriving. No arrives, calls, or even sends a text. The company is a no show. I call at 1246 and no one picks up. I receive a response at 2:07pm I'm guessing from the owner since the person never identified themselves mentioning that they have COVID and have been hospitalized since Tuesday night and that there secretary was supposed to reach out to me an led cancel. I text back to summarize my experience and mention that maybe the secretary needs more training and it would have been nice to have received a phone call so I could schedule with someone else. I receive another text message that I felt was unprofessional and telling me that we are all "human" and that "this is not in my hands" and that "I have a second job, I work in a hospital, maybe I get infected there" as there are continuous apologies. Here are my concerns: 1.) When originally canceling the appointment due to weather, sickness, etc it should NEVER fall on the client to be the one to reschedule. Proper customer service entails the company reaching out to the client and making the effort to reschedule. This shows that the clients business is indeed important. 2.) The need to communicate through text message should be limited. Pick up a phone and actually talk to your client. This can help alleviate any misconstrued information and it shows your clients that they matter. I wish I could have experienced what the other reviewers experienced, however, the ball was dropped big time. I'm also in the process of moving out of my condo in two days, and this experience really didn't help.

Scott stated the current floors were white oak while the other bidder stated the floors were red oak. To alleviate our concerns Scott came out to the house, sanded a large square of the floor. He brought several samples of unfinished red and white oak boards. Together we determined the flooring is white oak. The house had 3 different tones of white oak floor. In addition, we had the tile floors in the foyer and kitchen removed and new white oak flooring installed. Our goal was to get all of the floors to a similar tone. This required additional sanding to achieve. Scott finished the floors with 3 coats of Bona HD High Traffic Matte clear coat. It is impossible to determine where the new floors meet the old. The floors are gorgeous. Scott and his crew are true professionals. They showed up on time and worked extra hours to get the job done. Do not hesitate to contact Tamas & Son for any wood floor work you need done.

I was originally looking to replace my old kitchen floor with porcelain tiles. I had gotten a quote…read morefrom another flooring company and they wanted to tear up my existing subfloor which I thought was in pretty good shape and they also wanted to add a membrane which would have added extra height between the living room and kitchen. Then I found the Protractors and Moe came out to do the measurements and told me that he could install tiles over the subfloor but he also mentioned something new to me. Vinyl luxury plank flooring is the hottest new thing for kitchens and other rooms because it lasts a lifetime, is waterproof and scratch resistant and looks great. I loved the idea of not having to tear up my existing subfloor and the surface would be a much more comfortable walking surface than a cold porcelain tile. I had torn up the existing floor and was having family visiting in a few weeks so I was anxious to get this started. Moe made it a priority and was over the following day to discuss LVP options. On top of all of the help and recommendations that he had made, I had brought some samples from Home Depot that I thought looked pretty good. Moe thought they looked good also but because of his relationship with contractors he was able to offer a much better material and negotiated a discount with the contractor on materials. Before the end the week the new floor was installed. The workers were meticulous with details making sure the trim was a good match for the floor and making cuts that other contractors would have avoided. All in all I was very pleased with the new floor and all of the work that Moe and his workers did.

He answered all our questions, told us exactly what to expect, gave us an estimate on the spot, and was able to schedule us on relatively short notice. Communication was great. Michael & co were clear about how long the work would take, showed up when they said they would, and sent us pictures after staining and after the first coat of polyurethane. Their attention to detail really shows, and they did a great job wrapping appliances and smoke detectors too and generally cleaning up after themselves.
