This was my worse experience EVER.
I took my car there because I heard the radio commercial, 'woman owned & run'....Well, after dropping my car, I waited for a call to say what the prob was & options to fix it. At lunch I called them, she said he found a pvc valve and he will call when he returns from lunch. I waited without a call & called again a couple hrs later & he got on the phone & said its done & ready. I said what, I did not get a call, what was it, how much, why no call? He said it was a pvc valve (or pvn??) and its $300. I gasped, stated the car is old & not worth putting that kind of money into it. he yelled at me that the work is done & he will remove it if i would like, but i will have to pay labor & diagnostics. i said, i did not approve the labor to be done. he said, there were 2 hrs of diagnostics on it. i said, we both know that is not true... a lot of yelling on his part.....i told him i would be there before closing.
I got dropped off by a coworker & wrote up a check, he came in & said no, cash only. I said I dont have cash. he said go to 7-11 then. I said no, I cant as I dont have my debit pin#. I told him this would not be an issue, had he called prior to doing the work, as all auto repair businesses do- He finally agreed to take my bank card, yelled while standing next to me in a very defensive manor, threatening to pulling my card payment because I attempted to argue his lack of legal business-I was shaking, I was so upset.
They then required me to sign the work receipt, I argued not to as I did not authorize the work to be done...he screamed & slammed his hand & said, 'thats it, give her the card, go get cash!!!!' I said, 'fine, i will sign it but we all three know this is not right. and i looked at the lady & asked for the owner's name. she said its me. i said, why do u permit this behavior? she said he is my partner. i said it is a horrible way to run a business. I went outside to wait for my car to be pulled out of the garage.
On the way home that evening the car died twice, which was my original reason for bringing it in to be assessed. read more
