i had a great experience here. i went in because i was hungry and it was the first time that i had seen it with it's sign lit up. it was closed every other time i had driven by so i assume it's a seasonal restaurant which would make sense considering the nature of it or i just have bad timing. lol. the day i stopped by they were having a crawfish broil and the men outside cooking were really friendly. i don't eat sausage so i asked if they would mind not wasting it by putting it on my plate and they were really cool about it. i went inside to order and pay for it and while i was waiting in line someone brought my crawfish order into the restaurant so that i wouldn't have to bother going back out into the rain to get it. we also ordered two dozen oysters. they were small, but they were REALLY yummy! however, as stated in another review, i had three oysters in my dozen that had shell pieces in them so i ended up eating cautiously instead of really being able to enjoy the food without worry. that is why i only gave it four stars. shells happen, but that was the most i had experienced in one sitting. i feel like an oyster bar shouldn't have so many issues with shells in the oysters. servers were really friendly. the entire staff was really friendly! Doc's is one of my favorite restaurants in this area! I just got dinner from there again last night and was impressed yet again. They are somewhat on the pricey side, but you get everything you pay for and then some. The view is amazing on top of that as well. I think its kinda odd to see all the medical equipment, but it cracks me up seeing the leg stirrups right front and center lol. I also laugh at the big shark hanging from the ceiling with women's panties and bras hanging from its mouth. Its nice to see a sense of humor in an otherwise serious setting! I recommend trying their hot wings (grilled is best in my opinion) and their fried pickles!! Their oysters are also very good, just pricey. read more

Came here 3 times in as many days. Had the oysters, the captains platter, and the shrimp poboy. Also had the smoked tuna dip. Everything was great and my family loved their items as well. This was one of our favorite places as it had a great shack feel and was situated in Tom's Bayou. The whole feel of the place was awesome and felt like an adventure. Oysters Doc-a-feller were great, as was the smoked tuna dip. It seems like EVERYONE has a smoked tuna on their menu, but Doc's makes their own and I think you can tell. It's super fresh. Very close to Eglin. This was my first experience w8th grilled oysters and it was a good one. The atmosphere is wonderful and kid friendly. You can bring your swimming gear and take a dip in the beautiful cove while awaiting your food. Overall 4 star, I will be back. read more

Go here for football on sundays. They have Sunday ticket and usually have all the games on at the same time. The oysters are great and the smoked wings are some of the best I've had in the area. They also have a very good been selection and you can sit outside on the multi tier deck. A bit hole in the wallish but it's on the water and I like all of that. Definitely recommend. read more

The best oysters in a half shell we have ever had and we frequent both coasts! Loved the casual rustic atmosphere and multilevel outdoor seating. Loaded cheese fries were a hit for our 9 year old son. Fried oysters and seafood platters were a bit over cooked. After a long day of travel not having table service and having to go up and down stairs for iced tea refills was also a bummer. We would go back for the half shell oysters alone! read more

Overpriced menu for what they offer. Waited over an hour for a dozen raw oysters , a brat and chicken sandwich - on a mediocre friday. Top it off, our order came in three sections with half a dozen grilled ones never making it to the table. Not the most efficient establishment during our visit.
