It scared me because it seemed like such a long way down, but he bounced right up and started playing. He is also so loving and great with my boyfriends 50lbs dog. I even founded and ran my own rescue organization many years ago (Tails of Love), and my focus was rescuing the dogs who were dumped and then overlooked by adopters and other rescues (DOGS: Discarded and Overlooked Get Saved). Now I have a gifted child who is also neurodivergent and has significant sensory processing issues, OCD, and accompanying severe anxiety. I needed an "ideal" dog to train as a service dog, and since he will eventually be in school with her for many years, he has to be a low-shedding breed. I looked and looked in my networks and couldn't find a suitable candidate. I finally turned to RW&D, and I cannot find the words to adequately express what a dream our whole experience has been!!! Our tiny puppy is perfect, and already great with the potty training. We can't wait to start our service dog training when little Griffin (formerly San Luis Obispo from the Surf's Up litter) is old enough. I still believe wholeheartedly in adopting from shelters or rescues, but this experience opened my mind. Sometimes there's a need to buy, and if you are going that route, do not look further. Even if you have to wait, it's worth it! Hillarie and Warren are amazing. Take it from me. I rail and rage against the endless backyard breeders, and I can confidently state that this is not a backyard breeder. This is ethical, extremely conscientious and passionate breeding!

She did mention that she moved out to Patterson instead of breeding in Sunnyvale. However, she was very flexible and accommodating so we FaceTime to see the puppies a week before I came to pick up Georgi. I was impressed with how clean the house was especially for housing many dogs. I was mention that the puppies come home crate trained. For the most part they are because they're so accustomed to sleeping in the crate and we didn't have any problems with her crying and such. She's potty pad trained but did have a little accidents here and there. I mean they're still babies, totally expected and understandable. Georgi is one of the best things. She's extremely cuddly and friendly. She loves everything that moves. She was a bit wild for the first few months but that's with any kids, that have energy. One of the best thing is that she's neither submissive or dominant. I've had my friends dogs try to dominate her and all she does is walk away and then she will return and attempt to play while sharing her toys. She loves loves to swim! Isn't afraid of loud noises because we took her out on July 4th to see fireworks. I'm obsessed with her and her little quirks. TLDR: Life-changing dog training for my two reactive dogs. Massive improvement in our dogs'…read morebehavior and our confidence in walking them. Brent is an awesome dog trainer. This has been a life changing training for my two dogs. Our first day of level 1 class, they were barking and freaking out at the sight of other dogs. By the end of level 2, they were non-reactive, and I can now have my dog heel without holding a leash. Brent noticed how reactive our dogs were and took the extra time to walk us through training them to improve their behavior around other dogs as well as one of our dog's fear of water hoses. Highly recommend his group training classes. Its a lot of work, but you should feel comfortable & in control of your dogs. Thats what the classes have provided us and more. If someone told us 10 weeks ago that our dogs would be able to lay down with other dogs and be mellow, I would've never believed them until coming to Cooperhaus. I began exploring all kinds of programs with various trainers around the idea and Primal Canine stood apart from the get go because: (1) Erin is an amazing, kind and professional person to work with. She is prompt, yet not pushy. She worked with the facts and empathy for our needs and budget to help us get to the right program. (2) The trainer we were assigned to was forthcoming, efficient and excellent with the training. He was clear with what we could expect and what the constraints were. (3) Primal Canine is local to where we live, and we really preferred to go with a nearby small business, as both one we could support and build a relationship with, and for convenience. Within the 3 weeks of board and train our puppy went through, he came back with solid foundations and ability to understand and respond positively to basic commands. Primal's role does not end with the program - they constantly support with our needs and questions even after graduating from B&T, and actually offer a lifetime of resources to help us grow and flourish with our new best friend. We honestly can't believe the difference we've seen in Sienna since working with Lori and her team…read more We've put a tremendous amount of time, money and effort into training Sienna, since she was a puppy. From basic and advanced obedience to agility and calm down classes, with multiple trainers and programs, we tried just about everything. While those programs helped build a good foundation, none really addressed her reactivity. We were often told it was typical Border Collie behavior, but as she got older, it progressively worsened and eventually turned into aggression. She reacted intensely to dogs, children, people, bikes, squirrels, and just about anything that moved. Once she became fixated, nothing seemed to get her attention back. After researching and consulting with several trainers throughout the Bay Area, we found Lori. Her 20+ years of experience with obedience and behavioral challenges really stood out. She was knowledgeable, honest, and direct from our first consultation. We were hesitant about a board-and-train program and initially had reservations about balanced training methods, but decided to trust her experience. We're so glad we did! Throughout the program, Lori shared videos of Sienna's progress. We sincerely appreciated each of the videos. Each time, we were amazed at how much she had improved.  Lori's facility is also professionally maintained, clean, spacious and has the right equipment setup, along with the proper 24/7 supervision. They even have shade canopies throughout! Her team truly cares for the dogs and clients.  One thing we really appreciate about Lori is that she doesn't sugarcoat things. She's straightforward, direct and will tell you what you need to hear, even when it means recognizing mistakes in your own training habits. You must be coachable to mesh well with her program and be the best you can for your pup. We learned that some of the methods we'd previously been taught were actually contributing to Sienna's reactivity. Lori helped us understand how to communicate with Sienna differently, and it made a tremendous difference. Sienna also absolutely loves Lori and her team, which means a lot to us. After the board & train program we brought home a noticeably calmer, happier, and more confident dog. During a follow-up session, Lori took us into real-world situations around playgrounds, children, and basketball courts, all things that previously would have triggered Sienna. We couldn't believe how well she handled them. We recently took Sienna to Los Gatos Creek Trail, and she walked calmly beside us, passing people, children, and cyclists without pulling, barking, lunging, or showing aggression. Not a single reaction to bikes passing right alongside us! For anyone who knew Sienna before, that's an incredible accomplishment. We know there's still work ahead and that consistency is important, but Lori and her team have given us the tools and confidence to continue helping Sienna succeed. through her program, we've seen more progress than we thought possible. We are at a point we can trust Sienna walk with us off leash in a controlled setting, with the right tools and supervision, but understanding this will still take heavy work. We're incredibly grateful to Lori and her ENTIRE team and would absolutely recommend her to anyone struggling with serious reactivity or behavioral challenges. It's genuinely changed things for Sienna and our family in the best way possible!

The first year with my golden retriever, Luka, was extremely hard. He was a mouthy dog who had zero boundaries at home or outside. He would get excited or frustrated and grab/bite onto my shoes or clothes daily. Walking him became an impossible task because he was extremely dog-reactive, and he dragged me a couple of times while trying to chase another dog. Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. I can't thank Chelsea and Lori enough for everything they've done. I've learned so much about Luka, how to manage different situations, and how to better understand his behavior. We had training lessons throughout his board-and-train stay and afterward, because we are the ones who need most of the training! Chelsea did an amazing job with Luka. At home, Luka is unrecognizable in the best way. We can actually go on adventures outside without being terrified that we won't be able to handle him. Those who knew Luka before his stay and see him now always comment on how well he is doing. I cannot recommend Lori Hamilton's Dog training enough to anyone who feels like they've tried everything and is feeling discouraged.
