We engaged Mike to assist with our high school daughter who is currently enrolled in Trigonometry…read more Up until recently she was always an "A" student, but was having an issue with the recent material. Mike spent the first session reviewing what she already knew to get a good understanding of where her core weaknesses were. He then went back a few chapters to review some of the core concepts he felt she was lacking before moving to the current material. This allowed her to gain a REAL understanding of the concepts instead of just practicing memorization. Mike also helped her develop better study habits and take better notes during lectures. I am happy to report that she got an A on her last exam! With her study habits corrected, Mike doesn't need to come by as often now, but we do still conduct regular appointments so that we are sure she is on track and to make sure her understanding is where it should be. We really like that he comes to our home and it works out great for our schedule as well as helping our daughter feel more comfortable. I can't imagine another tutor being any more professional or knowledgeable than Mike.

In our four sessions, my grade has already gone up 18 percent. Mike truly loves his job of spreading his immense knowledge of math. The…read moreowner, Grace, helped me prepare for my GRE's for grad school and was instrumental in my improved math scores. She specializes in strategic test taking and test anxiety, which are the two tools you need the most when taking a timed exam. Grace has over four years of formal teaching experience and then eight years of tutoring experience. Math is not an easy subject to learn, and not easy to teach, but she makes it simple and fun, and follows up with students to make sure that they fully understand the concepts. Like I said, she is awesome at finding ways to set students up for success and eliminate test anxiety while highlighting and simplifying test taking into strategies and time management. She also has an amazing tutoring staff that available via Skype or in person, and are very flexible with scheduling. They also make sure to be available via text if you have any questions, which I haven't seen before. The "Student Lounge" itself is lofty, large, and very clean, with free coffee and snacks if you need them. There's also free parking in front, and a Sprouts Market down the street. The big tables are perfect for group work. I'd recommend working at this place to any student who lives in the area - it's like doing homework at your cool older sister's office...and your older sister is also a math wizard willing to help you out!

Both of our kids were tutored by different instructors at Moser and both had a GREAT experience. Scott asked a lot of questions about each student to understand their disposition, the way they learn, how much pushing they needed to study, etc. They were matched with very different instructors and both were patient, respectful, and clear in their teaching. Going into the college prep season with our older student, we were all a bunch of nerves. However, during the tutoring process, we collectively relaxed because our son became confident in his abilities to take the tests effectively. Both of our kids' scores were impressive, much higher than before the tutoring. As it turned out, they both did receive merit scholarships at their desired universities. Even if they had not, I think the confidence it gave each of them was well worth the price.

To preface, I think if I had reviewed School of Rock when I was still attending the school, my…read morerating would have been higher, but looking back on my experiences there I've found that it fostered a toxic environment. If you're looking to learn an instrument, it's great, but the social aspect is not well managed. Students who did not put school of rock first (over regular school, other activities, and jobs) were not respected by instructors, even though this should have been a fun extra curricular. I found in my personal experiences, staff being rude over missed rehearsals due to illness (pre-covid), lack of respect for seasons off, and an overall disappointing attitude when it came to high schoolers not putting music first (even when it was just an after school activity). The staff frequently became closer with students (showing, at times, blatant favoritism), and instead of instructing them and being the adults to look up to, became involved in petty drama of teenagers - even taking sides if their "star student" was showing less than admirable behavior towards other students. It could have been a fantastic after school experience- and it certainly had its positives, but as long as the school continues to operate the way it does, I would be remiss to recommend the Littleton school. I did have fun at the shows and learned instruments - but I can't say it was worth the experience I had with the instructors at this particular location.
