We hadn't eaten here for several years and remembered loving their pizza. We had the meat lovers and when we pulled a piece out the grease started pooling. We propped up one side so the grease ran to one side. We expect some with a meat lovers pizza but this was more than I've seen. We were seated promptly and our order was taken quickly. We received our pizza nearly 50 minutes later. Had they been swamped I could understand. 2 tables of 2 and 1 of 6 were all that was in the restaurant. First time here. I came for breakfast. The atmosphere was lovely. The service was fast and friendly. The cooks were fast and seemed to be enjoying the country music blaring from the kitchen! I was happy to see they had a veggie omelette on the menu! Hearty and well packed with fresh veggies and cheese. It was cooked exactly how I like my omelettes! But I couldn't eat much of it because there was an overwhelming smell of rancid oil coming from the hash browns and English muffin on my plate... probably from the omelette too. I would be giving this a four-star review had it not been for the smell of rancid oil in the morning. The server noticed I didn't eat very much of my breakfast, so I mentioned the smell of rancid oil. She said she couldn't smell it. But as a fellow cook, I am absolutely positive that I know what rancid oil smells like. The server gave me 10% off and I tipped her 33% on the original price because she was so sweet and friendly. Came here at the recommendation of a friend. Loved the decor. It's like an Italian outdoor restaurant built in the indoors. Hardly crowded. Walls decorated with hollywood nods to the Italian atmosphere. We ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer, the avondale pizza and fried pasta. Pizza is only available medium and above, so either get it to share or to take home for a future meal. Portions are very generous. The bruschetta was not what we expected. The toppings came separate from the bread. But very tasty! And I guess this way is better because you decide how much to put on your bread :) bread itself was tasty in itself with decent crunch. The pizza was very interesting. The toppings include fire roasted chile and strips of steak with pico de gallo in alfredo sauce. Outside of the chile, it was on the sweetish side, which was surprising. We liked it all the same. While this is great, I look forward to trying the other options hoping they will be spicier. The fried pasta really tasted like hakka noodles with veggies and chicken. Everything has a smoked/roasted feel to it. It was bland for my taste. I asked for chili flakes and pepper, which made it slightly better. However the more you eat it, the more you like the blandness! I got a hot chocolate because I wanted something warm and it was like any other hot chocolate. One suggestion - would really like fresh ground pepper rather than packaged pepper satchets. The food was good but the service won me over! The Do Drop Inn specializes in a very thick crust, sweet dough type pizza that comes in any variety you can think of. Our waitress informed us that the pizzas take 45 minutes a piece to fully bake but it was already late and we were starving. So we noticed the little buffet area with 2 pizzas, some pasta, meatballs, salad, soup, roast beef and cheesy mashed potatoes. It looked decent and we didn't have to wait so even though I'm not a fan of buffets I was hungry enough to try this one. The pizzas were good but have been sitting under the heat lamps for a long time and we're kind of dried out. So to our surprise, at 8:45pm, our waitress offered to have them make us a brand new pizza. So in the mean time, we filled up on salad, roast beef (delicious), cheesy mashed potatoes (good), pasta (meh), etc. The fresh pizza was worth the wait! Cheesy, soft, and vey flavorful! I thank our waitress for taking the initiative to make us happy and to have a good experience. :) It was nice to be able to watch the Olympics during our meal and see some of the swimmers earn gold medals which really added a fun touch to the meal! I called pueblo west drop inn and they called me back to say that I needed to call GrubHub because the order showed that it had been picked up. I didn't contract with grubhub, they did. Came here with husband for a date night and wasn't an overally bad experience. Pros: The fried pickles were cooked a nicely crispy crunchy unlike having soggy. Walking in the place seems larger than what you see on the outside. They have a great selection of beers on tap. And our waitress was helpful in knowledge of the pizzas and had some good recommendations. This also included her telling us if we weren't sure on food we could try the buffet and a little of everything. The pizza dough has an awesome not overally sweet taste which pairs very well with the pizza. Parking lot isn't huge, but large enough to accommodate a large amount of vehicles. Cons: Walking in and weren't acknowledge right away, even though there were a lot of empty tables and one large group. We were seated after a few minutes. The overall speed of service wasn't exactly the best. Took approximately close to 40 min for the pizza, and you start questioning whether you ordered or not and the buffet starts looking real tempting. My husband went to look at the small arcade and with all the children, it didn't look like it's swept or cleaned everynight. More like once a week maybe. There was a light that would blink intermittently that was annoying. The prices are a tad high, I don't think paying close to $3 for a soda at a restaurant would be preferred, a professional sport arena sure. Recommended? I've been to the one in Pueblo West several times for breakfast and dinner, and it's been a miserable experience every single time. While the staff is friendly enough, the overall service is deplorable. No matter who the server is, we've had to wait forever to even get our drink order in. After we order, it was nothing but hurry up and wait. We ran out of drink and the server is nowhere to be seen. When we do see them, they always seem to pay more attention to the other tables. In the meantime, tables that were sat after we came in are getting their food and leaving -- all before we can even get our drinks refilled. When the food finally arrives, it's mediocre at best. And that's if it comes out as it was ordered. So a 45 minute wait, and we didn't even order the "special" pizza. Finally, I tried to order takeout for breakfast this morning. I figured at least I wouldn't have to deal with the horrible service. I figured wrong. Once again, they were nice and friendly when I arrived, but then they didn't have my order. And I don't mean they didn't have it ready yet (which would've been typical). They didn't have it AT ALL. They suggested that I may have accidentally called the downtown site, and suggested I go there to get it, since it was "only a twenty minute drive." I verified that I called the correct number and that I would definitely NOT be driving twenty minutes to the other site. I will also not be driving 5 minutes to this site ever again. The best pizza in Colorado and possibly the United States!!!! Okay, that might be pushing it, but I spent some time out East and have tried the classic pizza pies and I would have to choose a Do Drop slice over any other place at the drop of a dime. The sweet taste is classic! The pizza is perfect! Not too thin, not too thick, and the slices aren't too big, and not too small. You'll definitely get pretty full just off of two slices. I had the chicken philly lettuce wrap with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend got the chicken Alfredo with a side salad. My philly and fries came out hot and fresh, it was delicious. And I was really glad they had a lettuce wrap option because I like to eat low carb. My boyfriend's Alfredo was good too, and his salad was super fresh.
