Because of the pandemic our family has been living out-of-state temporarily and had to purchase a car. After a frustrating day trying to figure out how to get our car registered in NY from out-of-state during a pandemic, I found DMV Stop and it was like the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine broke through. I don't mind paying a bit more using DMV stop in Queens as the time and stress I save is enormous. Very important to have all documents that's required and filled out properly and the rest is done for you and without the long line wait or sarcastic DMV clerk . The DMVSTOP service was $275.00 which I paid. Then I paid the CA DMV charge of $253.00. However, before they would send the plates, they stated that they need "a little more" because they weren't sure of the total cost. This "little more" was $64.00. I asked for proof of notice that it was a request from the CA DMV and not just a "little more" for them. Well, I got the CA plates and the registration from CA DMV stated that I paid a total of $253.00. So.... that "little more" was a shake-down for a "little more" money while they held my plates from shipping to me. RIP OFF. read more

Absolute nightmare experience. Tried to register a car here a few months ago and they weren't able to do it claiming I was missing a document. Ok, no problem. I decided to get a refund. 3 days it took for them to release my documents to me. I took off work and drove up, their email said I can come in person to pick up my stuff. Upon arriving and calling, a gentleman told me they don't have my documents yet and will have to come the next day. Even thought the email said my documents are ready? I came back the next day and the same gentleman took my info and left me on hold for almost 15 minutes while he "speaks to his team". He comes back and tells me he needs me to fill out a credit card authorization form, provide copy of ID, AND a copy of Credit card to release my documents. This was the shadiest business move i've ever had to go through and it felt wrong in my gut the entire time, but i was so desperate to just get my documents back that i did it. When they finally opened the door I was greeted by 2 girls who barely know what they're doing behind a thin sheet of plexiglass. I saw my documents sitting on the desk and she asked for the credit card documents first. I am a very patient person and i follow the law, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone else who was in my situation would've taken their documents by force. Will never again do business here and hope they go bankrupt. The way they operate is as a business who hates their customers. PS- Went to another DMV agency and had my registration and plates the next day. I'm not sure what sort of game they were playing here. read more

The owner has reached out to me. His version of events is wrong. I have the email traffic. There were several phone calls all stating that I needed to pay the sales tax upfront. Here's the email that gives you an idea of what was discussed: Hi Robert, I understand you already paid taxes on it previously however it was titled in California with your New York address. The DMV in NYS will not accept this as a tax exempt vehicle due to the NY address so you will either have to pay taxes on the fair market value of $23,000 or you can title it in someone else's name to avoid it. Since NJ is failing its people so miserably at the DMV~ I was wondering what I how I was goingvti proceed~ I had a vacation booked and paid for~ but I needed to register and title my new vehicle. I went to my local DMV at 0700 only to see over 300 people in line! I asked the police out front what my best plan shd be... "Get hear at 0100"...Not Happening!!! I bought a car during pandemic and was having difficulty to register it as it was my very first time buying car from different state. Had to get the title for my car went to this office on Jamaica Ave. Gave them the papers I had plus the title from the dealer. The women took everything and filled out the other form I needed. She made copies of everything and emailed them. Three weeks later I had my new title . Definitely would use them again and will refer them to people . Thanks guys. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Very unprofessional. Never received my full refund. Services took months, you could never get anyone one the phone when needed they'll keep transferring you around until you're completley frustrated. I've never dealt with such a careless company. Nothing can get done unless you speak with David but David is never available so basically if David is not there don't expect to receive any services. Finally I canceled my whole transaction, as months has passed. Still no refund or Title as they stated it has been mailed and it's been weeks, still nothing. I don't recommend this place at all. Better off going to your DMV you'll be waiting some hours but at least you won't be waiting some months. read more

Dealing with NYS DMV is no pleasure during normal times let alone during the pandemic.
