What a pleasant encounter with the employees at the San Andreas DMV today.The staff was courteous, friendly and informative. Last week I had a very unpleasant experience at the DMV on Las Positas in Pleasanton. Not only was the greeter rude, but the man at the vehicle registration was obnoxious, did not give any explanations of fees or the processes. It is worth the drive to San Andreas to get premium service! Thank you San Andreas DMV for restoring my faith in public servants. read more

So, I am here again, a week later from the last time I was in here. I had the misfortune to be waited on by the lady with dark hair, and a bad attitude. I can't understand why, this state would gave someone that rude dealing with the public. She is short on her answers, and quite rude. Both my husband and I went today to renew our drivers licenses that are do in March and April.. oh my gosh!! The employees were so helpful and personable and nice!!! It only took a little over an hour and that was without an appointment. We were very impressed compared to Stockton and Lodi.. kudos to San Andreas dmv.. read more

My 80 year old mother has been trying to renew her license and has done every single step they have told her. All she needs to do is take the driving test. They keep giving her the run around telling her she needs to do this and that and it keeps going on and on. They have no patience whatsoever. Some of the people that work there have been so incredibly rude to her making her fill stupid....a guy in particular. What happened to kindness and patience? It was very good service today. I was surprised. I made an appointment, I just wish they put signs outside because I waited in a long line outside for about 25 minutes. It wasn't until I got in the front doors where I saw the appointment line sign. Nobody tells you this so unless you go to DMV often and you have an appointment you're not gonna know that you can skip the line outside going around the building. read more

I'm almost hesitant to write this review because its a secret Department of Motor Vehicles that not many people know about! And throughout my life, I've made several trips to the DMV. We all know that one time or another, the length of time wasted just waiting to talk to someone can be an eternity. Well, all those people that dread making a trip to the DMV, look no further because this particular location just might change your entire perception of things. Nestled in the heart of the Motherlode in the quaint historic town of San Andreas (on Mountain Ranch Rd. & 1/4 mile from Highway 49), this DMV location truly is a hidden gem. You will almost not even know its here since the building itself is as plain as you would get. It actually neighbors a CHP office. But the one thing that makes this location great is the parking. It has a huge lot and ample parking for a ton of vehicles. I've actually been to this location several times; one to renew my registration and another to change title on my vehicle. When stepping foot into this DMV, you will notice that its SMALL! And it has that small town feeling as if you truly are in a rural California town. There are only two employees working here but when I arrived every time, I only saw a max of five people waiting! It has two entrances; you basically pick a number and wait. And from the time I picked my number, I was being seen in less than 5 minutes! Its not just the wait times that make this DMV stand apart from the rest, its also the high level of customer service. From what I have witnessed, the employees that work here truly and genuinely enjoy what they're doing and is complete opposite of what I've seen at the Sacramento area DMV offices. Now that the secret is out, you now know where to go if you want a painless trip to the DMV! Way to go San Andreas! read more

The young man working my papers was coughing and touching his nose and then handled my papers. Yuck Then the manger came to "assist" i'm trying to find any reason to not let me complete my transaction. They were practically high-fiving each other where she said here I found it they can't do what they want to do instead of listening to what we were trying to accomplish and help us helping us achieve our goal, she dug Tenaciously to find a reason she couldn't complete what we drove two hours to do. This has got to be the smallest dmv I have ever had the honour of visiting... with the hugest parking lot!! Not only is the office quick and efficient (we were in and out of there in 10mins) but the entire staff (I saw 3 or 4 ppl) were SUPER AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY AND FUNNY. I brought my dad in to finalize his license due to a failed eye exam back in February. The manager was so pleasant and helpful and patient with my dad. She did her best to make our visit as smooth as possible. I appreciate her professional service and kindness. There is always negative comments about DMV but I want everyone to know what a great employee this DMV has. read more

Don't bother getting an appointment. Makes no difference, whatsoever. Has an appointment at 12:00, and waited over 2 hours. I even asked if having an appointment meant anything - she said "no." Someone recommended going in 1/2 hour before they close so you don't have people going on break/lunch all throughout the day and leaving people hanging. Plus they move a little faster when it's going home time. I wish I would have done that. Will next time. read more

This DMV must have the most incompetent employees and managment in all of history. I needed 3 simple thing done and they screwed each one of those all to hell. I am forced to go back to this location because they ran my credit card to cover my registration fee but for some dam odd reason, my regestration is still showing UNPAID!! WTF. Like I said. Incompetent!!!!!! And I was there for 2 hours to just jack me around. Why in this day and age with all our technology are we still doing dmv in the dinosaur ages. read more

Not sure why the other posted reviews are so positive. I have been waiting over two hours to complete something very simple. The ticket number hasn't moved in over an hour. There are people who come in, wait at the counter to ask a question, and the employees just complete their requests without concern for those who have been waiting. I don't know the background of the manager of this location but I can tell you they have no ability to create effective and efficient processes for supporting their customers. read more

Didn't have a problem with getting seen at a quick time however the one star is for Steven employee # 43..the older bigger gentleman that works there. As soon as my number was called he was so rude when greeting me and just said, "what are you here for"...as if I wasn't allowed to be there...he took two seconds to look at my documents and right away claimed they where filled out incorrectly. Then started to go over the documents more precisely. I asked what was incorrect about it, and he just kept repeating himself to give him a moment. ....so awkward and uncomfortable. I think he must be a tad racist or somethin because there was no need to be so rude. I even told him that his coworker is the one who told me to fill out whaT he said was incorrect and he went over to her to confront her and Reprimand her in front of me and all the other customers. So rude and so unprofessional. If he's going to be working at his senile age, then he needs to find something in his life that makes him happy or at least quit cause apparently workin at the dmv just isn't cutting it for him anymore. I mean, he should be hAppy to have a decent job at his age at a government facility with What I can imagine some decent benefits. Such Old bitter man, worst than a pregnant women! read more
