With the exception of a few workers, this dmv is full of a-holes. I came to correct a filing issue that was not my fault at all and was treated like i was willfully negligent, met with snarky comments and unkind demeanor. Prior to coming to this field office, I called the department listed on the notice I got which was in Sacramento. They told me it would be corrected in 48 to 72 hours but if i wanted an immediate corruption to take supporting paperwork to the field office and that they would try to make me pay a fine but that I didnt have to unless I needed a new card, which i didnt. Went to the field office with paperwork and they wouldn't accept it so i had to come back with the same paperwork in a different format. Then they processed to try to make me pay the fine telling me my license isnt valid unless i pay the fine. I explained what i had been told over the phone by 2 different people in the department that sent the notice and they still insisted. I asked to speak to the manager and some guy came over and began with "pay the fine" in a demanding tone. I went over everything again and he literally started making up reasons why i had to pay the fine such as i had to pay thr fine because I switched insurance companies, that i had to pay my old company the fine yo cancel and go with a new company, and something about a deposit...none of which i was dumb enough to believe. His bs coupled with his disrespectful, condescending, demand attitude made me ask him "are you even a manager?" He tried to not answer the question directly so I pressed until he admitted no, he wasn't, to which I asked "why are you even here then? I asked for a manager ". He went and got a lady who identified herself as a manager. She said she would call the department from the phone at the back desk and came back moments later stating "they said you had to pay it". I explained to her what they had told me and suggested she mention to them that i dont need a new card so i shouldn't have to pay the fine and maybe ask for a supervisor. She came back moments later and said yes she told them and yes she was speaking with a supervisor and to pay. I just could not believe this. She handed my a refund form and said i coukd request a refund but that i probably wouldn't get it. I said to her I'd like to give them a call myself before i pay. So i called and got the same answer as before, i dont have to pay. I asked if i should let them speak to the manager at the field office, thinking they could inform her so someone ekse didnt have to go thru this, still believing her misinformation was an accident. The rep on the phone explained they all know the same thing...basically alluding to the fact she was misinforming me on purpose. When i asked why would the manager do that the rep on the phone said she didnt know and wasnt sure if they had quotas or what. The rep on the phone told me she can see everything cleared up in the system and to just leave, so i did, without paying the fine. read more
