Messaged a few contractors here on Yelp for last minute projects we were looking to get done before…read morewe rented out our townhome, and Jose from Hernandez Contracting was the first to respond to my message. He was able to come by our place on the same day for an in-person quote and after deciding that we wanted to work with him, he was at our place ready to work the very next morning! He said he was able to come by to start work at 9am the next morning, but he was there not only on time but a bit earlier by around 8:30am! We had started off with 3 projects for him, which he quoted us for, but I ended up asking him if he could do more little projects, and he was able to take on anything we asked of him. He's awesome, he was even so respectful to take off his shoes when he worked inside our home. The projects he was able to complete for us was: 1) carpentry work in our garage (to secure some previous work done before we bought our townhouse, there were some unsecured wooden pillars barely holding up a wooden built-in storage shelf). Jose even told us how he would make it even more secure by adding more pillars where it would hold more weight on the shelf and be more secure; 2) filled up a hole in our wall, he was able to patch it up with drywall and matched the exact paint and by the time he was done and paint dried, you would never have known it was there! 3) he installed a new storm door for us, our previous storm door had a broken door handle, and Jose was able to install a brand new storm door that we had purchased, he even made sure that the storm door we bought was the correct measurement. 4) Jose installed new hardware on our kitchen cabinet doors, they were all aligned! He took the project off our hands. 5) upon request he was able to fix our closet door that wasn't aligned properly, so it didn't shut! When we bought the house it was like that, Jose fixed it! 6) he glued & aligned some wooden pieces coming off that were framing our attic crawl space. 7) he went above and beyond to find some new window screens that we couldn't locate locally, so he drove to another state to look for it the very same day! He wasn't able to locate it, so he ordered the correct sized window screens and installed them as soon as he could after it came in the mail! He was able to get most of the work done in just 2 days! Minus the window installation, which was done as soon as possible, once he special ordered it and after it arrived! His preferred payment method is through Zelle. Jose is an amazing handyman! He is punctual, very reliable, kept his word when he said he would come by and do our projects, and did great work in a timely manner. I would recommend him to family & friends, and we will definitely work with him again.

We reached out to several companies for quotes and while everyone was professional and knowledgeable, Tom stood out with his attitude and clear experience; he even noticed a few things that others had missed. The quote was reasonable, not the most expensive and not the least expensive, but solid. Tom helped us design the plan of action, including removing the bathtub and replacing it with a walk in shower, and shortly thereafter the work began. What can I say other than "Wow". Tom, Jose and the whole crew were absolutely fantastic. Whether it was Ruben whose work ethic would put anyone to shame, or the beautiful work that Ronald did on the tiling, the end result (just shy of 2 weeks later) was better than we could have hoped for. I used Justin to construct a custom media center for my TV. He did an excellent job. I haven't ever…read moreseen a contractor as meticulous as Justin is with his work. At the moment Justin is a one-man operation, and as a result he will require more time to complete his job than the big boys (e.g. California Closets when it comes to custom built-ins). The big boys, though, use particle board (whereas Justin uses birch plywood) and farm out the manufacturing operation to a factory to get things cut quick and have a install design (whereas Justin cuts everything himself in his own home, transports it himself and has to do all the alignments himself). I thought I had a civil engineer in my house measuring the curvature of my walls, that is how detailed he is. I asked Justin about what other kinds or work he does. He does all kinds of remodeling, including bathrooms among other things (although he will contracts out the plumbing for example). The big guys generally have a lead time of like 2-3 months. Justin's lead time is probably 1 month or so. He is extremely flexible. Very punctual too. I highly recommend him.

This bathroom is for my Mother who is a senior citizen and needed specific modifications (e.g. pull bar, new fan duct, etc). They communicated the scope of work with me every step of the way and updated me on any change. They had to tare into the wall and ceiling to do the work I requested. Not only did they do great work on the modifications but left the bathroom looking better than it did before. All in all, they did quality work at a fair price and completed it quickly.
