As a bona fide vintage fan and sometime purveyor, I'm almost ashamed to have only discovered the…read morelegendary London Vintage Fashion Fair earlier this year. Taking place every 4 - 5 weeks at the great Modernist Hammersmith Town Hall, The Vintage Fashion Fair is where celebrities, stylists and many of London's overpriced vintage boutiques go to get their vintage wares. For a first timer the fair can be a little overwhelming, with dozens of knowledgeable sellers offering vintage fashion, accessories and textiles dating from Victorian times to the eighties and early nineties. Prices, predictably, are not cheap, but then this is high-end vintage. An original full length seventies Janice Wainwright dress will set you back around £100, a vintage Yves Saint Laurent jacket around £250 and original costume jewellery by the likes of Kenneth Jay Lane and Givenchy starts at around £50. My only criticism is the changing room situation. Although my reticence about stripping in front of dozens of other shoppers has decreased a little over years of buying at sample sales, the incongruity of trying on sixties Parisian couture in a town hall's toilets was not lost on me. Nevertheless, this hallowed fair is definitely worth a visit. Even if only for a browse because its friendly, charming sellers and magical atmosphere make this much more than a vintage shopping trip, The Vintage Fashion Fair is an experience.

It's not the cheapest place to buy vintage, but it is usually of a high standard, so you end up saving time by not having to trawl through so many piles of junk. Some of the sellers really know what they're talking about and have beautiful clothes. The reason I haven't given this five stars is that because due to the fact that it's indoors, it can feel a little crowded and chaotic, but as far as vintage fairs go it's comparativeley well organised, and the crowds are inevitable.

This Sainsbury is much bigger then I thought it would be. We where here to find two things: an…read moreglutenfree meal for my sister and the real curry powder for me. We found a larg line of glutenfree stuff and other allergy free things. Especially the funny things, are the things I remember: Peanutbutter without peanuts.. and egg-free mayonnaise. Anyhow: that what they are selling, you can buy in large proportions and from different brands. If you can't find something on your list: just ask, because I'm sure they have it! On the weekend before Christmas it was a very busy place to be, so a long wait for before you can pass an other person. Oh and I found lots of different tasted and different brands for the curry powder, I bougt two versions so I'm sure that I have enough until my next trip to the UK (somewhere at the end of spring)

I've shopped at other supermarkets, but have always come back to Sainsbury's. This store is fairly large, but I tend to avoid it and go to the Richmond branch as this one is so busy, and they have a really small car parkat weekends for instance, you have pretty much no chance of getting a space! It's ridiculous! They also don't seem to have a large amount of checkouts open, so you end up having to wait a fair while (unlike the other branch!) This is also one of only a few places to park in Chiswick High Road. Sainsbury's bought in a policy where you have to spend £5 instore to get free parking, which I admit I have abused once or twice, but it's a bit annoying to try and remember to find your car park card at the checkoutI've forgotten to get it scanned in the past and had to go back instoreotherwise they'll charge you £50!! Anyway, it's a nice store, but parking makes it a no-no for me

First things first, I am not a local. When I lived in Chiswick many years ago there was an…read moreold-skool healthfood store in one of the side streets but not this lovely supermarket. I had hoped to pick up a snack on my way over to a friend's house banking on one of the main chains along the High Street. M&S was already closed and Tesco had one of its fridge meltdowns (this seems to happen all over town in Summer, but that's another story). Luckily I remembered As Nature Intended from a previous visit and was happy to find an exciting selection of unusual yet healthy snacks. I opted for delicious looking ice cream mochi balls - they turned out to just as tasty as they looked. I don't think I'll be making a special journey as Chiswick really is quite out of the way, but waiting for the next excuse to venture out West. Much better than Wholefoods!

They slowly introduced other areas within their grocery, like Green Baby clothes (previously reviewed by moi), and an extensive natural remedies department with expert advice on hand to help treat any ailment. My husband suffers from eczema and he has tried many things in the past, they recommended a balm that has worked wonders, the dryness is less visible and according to him the itching has diminished. As Nature Intended, really feels like walking into Nature, it smells fresh, clean and natural, staff are pin pointed everywhere. Funny story, I thought I was going a bit mental when I saw one of the staff on one aisle and as I turned to the next aisle she was there again! How did she get there? I slowly came to realize, when one of the girls stood next to the other, they were twins! Really nice girls and helpful. Don't be surprised about the prices, just remember you are paying for a healthier lifestyle, free of chemicals and pesticides.
