I definitely recommend hiring Dylan for any painting job. Dylan was highly professional, efficient, and provided best-in-class customer service when we contracted him to paint all of our kitchen cabinets and trim. His tape/prep work was impressive and it was clear that his attention to detail was responsible for the high quality result. Pricing was very competitive as well and we could not be more satisfied. read more

I wanted to get the entrance, living & dining room of my 875 sq ft condo painted so I looked on Yelp & chose the 3 local painters w/ the most & highest reviews + 1 from Craigslist. Time for estimates! #1 Flaked #2 Flaked but called the next day to apologized/reschedule #3 On-time (Craigslist) #4 On-time (DK Painting) All had similar pricing but DK Painting was by far the most professional. Unlike the others, his estimate was a complete contract rather than just an email w/ numbers. Damian was very friendly, reliable & informative. He returned my calls & emails when he said he would. I am EXTREMELY frugal so he told him how to get the most for the least by excluding trim work like base-boards & doorways. It was still no easy task for them to cut perfect lines where the walls met my 1964 popcorn ceiling but they did it! All said & done, I got my 3 common areas done for under $1K. I am a perfectionist & even I cannot find anything to complain about. The lines were PERFECT!!! The accent wall is gorgeous & the entire job looks amazing!!! WORK DAY DETAILS: He showed up on-time at 8:30am with 3 guys. I let him in, left the keys & went to work. By 2:30pm, he called saying they were all done & left the keys & extra paints behind. My place was cleaner than when I left it. He even did me the favor, as promised, of taking my wall heater vents that other painters had nearly destroyed & cleaned, sandblasted & repainted them. He was back the next day with the vents & they looked amazing!!! The entire job looks amazing!!! I gladly wrote him a check and plan to hire him again when the time comes. ON A SIDE NOTE: I have a kitchen & bathroom that have latex over oil-based paint that's now peeling. Damian was completely forthright in telling me that it is not worth hiring journeyman level painters to undo the damage. He suggested I do it myself or hire less skilled workers to prep the surfaces & frankly, I really appreciate his honestly. He gave me valuable advice & tips that I'll use when I'm ready to tackle those areas. read more

If anyone is looking for a painter, I highly recommend DK Painting. Damian was wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable, responsive, honest, and provided excellent communication throughout the process. His team was pleasant, accommodating, patient, and conscientious. The paint job itself was detailed and meticulous. This has been a fantastic experience from start to finish and we will absolutely use DK Painting for any paint jobs in the future. read more

I had the pleasure of working with DK Painting on a commercial project. The pricing was excellent. Damian, the owner, carried out the scope of work accordingly and was meticulous about everything, which I loved. He also understands the pressure of meeting deadlines and made me very happy when they finished ahead of schedule. I'd be happy to work with DK Painting again. read more

I recently had Damian paint the interior of my tiny new home that had had several terrible paint jobs from the previous owners. Before Damian came, the whole place looked dirty/shadowy because the paint work was so poorly done. I had 4 different painters (all found on Craigslist) come out and give me quotes. For my 720 square foot home, I received three quotes in the $3500 range (including Damian's quote) and one for $1400. I can't imagine how the guy quoting $1400 could do the kind of precision work I was looking for if everyone else was quoting $3500, so I dropped him out of the running and ended up choosing DK Painting. I went through the color wheels Damian lent to me and told him which samples I wanted to see on the wall (which makes all the difference in picking the right color). Damian started and completed the work in a week as scheduled, EVEN THOUGH my dad didn't finish sheetrocking the bathroom until midway through the week! Damian was very easy to work with and handled anything that came up with professionalism and EXCELLENT communication. Damian kept me totally up to date on everything that was going on with the project. The place looks so insanely gorgeous now! Crisp white crown molding and baseboards, warm flowing walls... just heavenly. I was very picky about precision between molding/baseboards and wall color. I wanted NO wall color on the boards, and vice versa. Damian and his brother did an incredible job! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone! Let me also say that DK Painting not only had their license number on everything (business cards, quotes, etc), but on the last page of the quote he includes the legally required information about how a contractor or materials supplier can put a lien on your property if either of them do not get paid. Even though this is a legal requirement, DK Painting was the only one out of the four painters who gave me quotes to include this information. He absolutely knows what he's doing, but he also wants to make sure you have all the information YOU need to know about. That's true customer service. read more

Had a small job where the wood panel around my patio door need to be painted. Just from talking to him on the phone, you can tell the guy know what he's doing. He's a busy guy but will keep you up to date with what's going on, calls back if you leave a message, and replies to emails. Quick response, plenty of details, and most importantly, great execution. read more

My neighbor recommended Damian at DK Painting. She gave rave reviews about her experience with his company, and due to the similar nature of the job at my home, I was delighted to work with a known quantity. From start to finish Damian and his crew were absolutely professional, pristine in their approach to painting and prep, and what I considered to be a large job, took only two days, and was perfect. We have a huge window and very high ceiling, and he cleaned the window for us, and responded to any and all requests in a positive and helpful way. I would highly recommend this company. read more

In a world filled with lazy, messy and unprofessional contractors, DK Painting was a breath of fresh air. Damian gave me an estimate and explained ahead of time that his prices were a bit higher than others due to the fact that he spends more time on prep work than other painters who sacrifice quality for speed. His crew was friendly, courteous and very professional. True to his word, they did an excellent job with the prep and painting and even fixed a few small things around the house to improve the appearance. Months later when I painted my fence, Damian came by and gave me a few tips to help me out without expecting anything in return. Excellent quality and service! read more

Damien and his crew were awesome. We finished a home renovation recently, and the previous GC and his crew made several mistakes (some fairly severe). We hired Damien to come in and fix everything. They were great. * He's extraordinarily responsive. * Deeply knowledgable and spent a lot of time with us explaining all of the tradeoffs with the various approaches. * He set appropriate expectations. * They worked efficiently and were punctual * The pricing was fair * They were flexible and adapted to additional requests as they came up * They did a really good job prepping the space to minimize dust, debris, and cleaned up very well after themselves when finished And most importantly, the quality of work was *very* good. Light years beyond our GCs crew. Will use them for sure in the future. read more

We had DK painting come out for an estimate to repaint our 2800 sq ft home, and add exterior window shutters back in June. From the moment we met the owner, Damien, we knew our house was in good hands. We had 3 other estimates and he was the only one to really answer our questions and give us his honest opinion of things. Damien and his brother Paul worked on our house for over 3 weeks, and it looks amazing. They were very tidy, and hard working, and did a lot of extra things at no cost to me. I can't tell you how many people stop and ask about our colors and the painting company. We had such a wonderful experience with DK Painting and have referred them to our friends and family in need of a painter. read more

We used DK painting to paint the exterior of our house plus one interior room. The first thing I liked was during the estimate Damian was very willing to explain the process and how they would deal with various problem parts of the job. Their price quote was in the middle of the three I asked and closer to the lower end. He also offered to fix up some garage doors for a small extra cost, which we opted to do. They took their time on the prep work (which I hear is a good thing), and got the job done in just over a week (with a couple rainy days in there). During the job he would phone and give updates periodically explaining what they'd done and what was next - that was kinda nice. The completed job looks great - very good attention to detail. Plus he even threw in a couple of freebies, like replacing the house-number sign which had the previous owner's name with generic numbers (we were just too lazy and never got around to it for 7 years). The outside of the house looks shiny and new and the interior room feels much fancier. And the fixed garage doors look pretty good too despite being really old. Great customer service and great finished job - I'll definitely look for DK Painting again the next time I have a paint job. read more

I like to start by saying I've known Damian for the last 15 years. His attention to detail is unparalleled! Whenever him and his crew do any job you can rest assured it will be perfect and will last the test of time! read more

DK Painting - Painters Near Me - Shingletown, California

This company was so responsive and so professional. We had arranged to have the interior of our house painted, and had made plans to be away during the job, when our painter cancelled at the last minute. We found a recommendation for DK Painting on the Nextdoor website, and within a few hours they were at our home, giving us an estimate and helping us decide various details about the job. They made themselves available to start work just a few days later, when we were out of our home; and they even worked over a weekend to ensure that the job would be finished by the time we returned. And to top it off, they did beautiful work. The owner of the company, Damian, was very prompt in responding to calls, texts, emails. He was friendly, explained everything about their proposal thoroughly, and was always patient and respectful. The head of the crew, Oscar, was a pleasure to deal with, and paid attention to all of our requests. read more

I have to agree with Steve F and Kris L review. I was also blown away with the arrogance and rudeness of Damien ( DK Painting) just to give me a bid. This was very unnecessary as he could have politely declined I called some of the recommendations on this list and wanted to share my experience (on the phone) with DK Painiting ( Damien) who I called for a bid, He said he was very busy and would call me back the next week..which he did not. So I called back and asked him which day/time would suit him to come out and give me a bid. And I told him that I was flexible and would wait till August to paint. He gave me two times this week for the bid when I was not available, so I asked him to give me ANY other time he was available to come out and give me a bid. He then turned the conversation around and said I was the one who was not available and said many unnecessary rude things on the phone including that he did not think he could work with me. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional person. read more

Great service! The best thing about Damian is his great communication. He is clear, upfront, and proactive in his communication, something that I appreciated, especially since it seems many contractors lack these essential qualities. Damian and his crew did a great job on my paint, and took great care protecting my furniture and flooring. Quick turn around and very competitive price makes it a no brainer. read more

This guy is full of himself.. Spoke with Damian over the phone. He said they are booking into late November and they don't just come out and give estimates because they don't have the time to spend unless we are committed to starting the job.. Who in their right mind would book a job with this guy on a blind commitment? Insane unprofessionalism. Sounds like this is his reputation and is losing business hand over foot including ours. read more

Wow. I am here to tell you the Bay Area has fully recovered from the real estate bubble - at least when it comes to finding/hiring highly-rated subcontractors! DK Painting is the second painting company I've called that's completely blown me off. When I called today (7/15/11) the guy who answered didn't even bother to ask me anything about my job, he just said, upfront, he's booked. I said, "so...if I'm willing to wait?" "We're booked till mid-October." Awkward pause... "Okaaaaayyy...thanks." Seriously? Just like that, all rude and stuff? Sheesh. I know it's not the Taj Mahal - but I need an entire 1,800 sf house painted...these guys clearly don't care and/or need the work. Note to all you subs starving in Sacramento, etc. - please come to the Bay Area and teach these snots a lesson! read more

wow. damien and his crew are awesome. he gave us a bid, which fell the lowest of three. he met with us regularly in the mornings and in the afternoons, whenever we were available, to review what had been done, what needed to be done, what color decisions needed to be made. when we weren't sure of the colors or processes, we talked it out to decide the best for the house. he and his crew were respectful of our gardens, property and our security/privacy. we would hire DK Painting again in a heartbeat and would recommend DK Painting to anyone in need of a painting project. did i say he and his guys are totally awesome? read more

At times I feel like I'm drowning in home maintenance and really need a pro's help. Last year I had a project, a portion of which several other contractors turned down. After a meeting Damian set expectations on what could be done cost effectively and what results might look like. For the questionable bit, results were better than either of us expected. Had that not been the case I would still rate DK Painting 5 stars. 1. In speaking with Damian it is quickly apparent he knows his business 2. Their guys were fast, clean and the work was done right. 3. Damian imparted paint storage tips, we talked tools and he even sealed up/labeled the left over paints and stains. Should I need them, I've got them. Speaking with the neighbors yesterday of their painting fiasco it reminded me of the great experience I had and a review was overdue. read more

I can't say enough in praise of DK Painting. Damien did a great job estimating the work and was a pure pleasure to work with. He and his crew did a FANTASTIC job and even did many extras, like resurfacing my meter cabinet and replacing the hardware, for no extra cost. He was very communicative through the whole process letting me know exactly what was going on when. He also was my lowest bid which made the incredible work he did all that much more satisfying. Don't hesitate to hire these guys - you'll be glad you did. read more

We recently hired DK painting to do the entire interior of our home, texturing, trim, ceilings and walls. Damien and crew were fantastic in every aspect of the job from start to finish. In the beginning he was very good in terms of helping us understand the process, very thorough when giving us things to think about regarding selection of paint colors. When the job started he kept us in the loop about progress, his crew was very respectful to us and our property, and they worked long hours to get the job done in the time frame they estimated. He also went above and beyond the bid fixing a warped drawer, putting on proper doorstops, and a number of other things we didn't think to ask. Their cleanup job was excellent, and we couldn't be happier with the way the job turned out. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone and will certainly use them again in the future. read more

I have to agree with Kris L. They're booked up, and they blew me off. Fair enough, but they did it in an awkward and unprofessional manner that ended up wasting even more of my time. Damien and his crew are great. I hired them to paint my house and they did it as efficiently as I could have hoped. His pricing is very competitive and he tries to give you the best quote he can. He wont waste your time and money with constant back and forth and pay for things that are not needed. Every single painter I talked to, said I'd need scaffolding for my house which costs $3k+ but Damien did the whole job without any scaffolding and he went the extra mile to make sure he could do a great job. He communicates everything with you and is on top of everything. Could have hired a better team for the job. Highly recommended. read more

You will not be disappointed if you decide to work with Damian and his crew. Damian exhibits a friendly kind of competence and attention to detail that make it easy to trust him. Damian's other qualities are his ability to listen to your needs and to proactively work with you through the home improvement process. With us, Damian discussed the scope of the job in great detail and helped us make important decisions before they turned into change orders. Hence, one advantage of working with Damian is that he tries to protect you from unwanted surprises and cost overruns. Damian's workmanship is as detail oriented as his communication style...and he is flexible: he worked around our many scheduling needs, looked after our dog while he was on site and coordinated other contractors that needed direction. Damian is a top notch master of his craft. He is the type of professional that you can afford to trust with your important home improvement project. read more

Our neighbors used DK Painting to paint their house and we we were so impressed with the results that we hired them to do the exterior and two interior rooms of our house a few years ago. He's coming back to re-paint the exterior of our house this summer - we were so thrilled with the work the first time, we are glad to have him come back and do it again. When we called him, we learned that he's booked up for a couple of months. I don't mind having to wait - someone who does honest, high-quality work, should be in demand and booked up in advance. Damian is a stickler for details and is super meticulous in his clean-up - at the end of each work day as well as at the end of the job. The result is a great paint job, no mess, and all at a fair price. I highly recommend him. read more

This past Nov. DK Painting came to work their majic. They showed up on time and got right to it. Impressed with the prep. Patched problem areas with various tricks of the trade . Well done. Good price. Thanks Gentlemen. read more

I wasn't able to get Damien in to do the job with his crew based on my short timeline and his availability. But his willingness to explain the process to me let me know what I should expect from a quality company in for me on products I should be interested in or would be good to apply for a commercial business and spend some lengthy period of time on the phone with me making sure I understand the process and what I should expect was a step above from anybody else who I spoke with that could not fit my timeline. There is obviously a reason these guys are so busy yet still made time to help me with anything that he could even though he didn't make a dime from me. Thanks Damien with Dk painting read more

Damian called me back with-in 36 hours, but honestly, I'm really put off by the arrogance of this guy. He was not interested in exterior work, said he was booked for seven weeks, and couldn't even get out for an estimate for 10 days. Told me he would be higher priced than most when I told him I was getting three estimates. When painters get this big of a head, their work is sure to go downhill. I will look elsewhere. read more

DK was super busy with paint jobs working day and night. However his professionalism, knowledge and kindness did the magic. we talked to four contractors and Damian and his crew weren't the least expensive nor were they the most expensive. From the initial meeting through the quote to the actually painting, Damian and his crew were nothing but helpful, professional and fun to work with. Our house was the 'fixer' on the block and we needed A LOT of work on the exterior. DK fixed cracked wood, sanded for days and essentially made the exterior look almost new - not a small task. Beyond just the amazing prep work, Damian went above and beyond what we would have expected - helping to fix an iron gate that was warped and wouldn't close properly, replacing cracked molding, picking up a white weather stripping for our door as he thought it would look better (it does), etc.. He also took the initiative to refinish our mail slot covering to match the gate - great attention to detail that we wouldn't have thought about but Damian and his crew know what they are doing and they want to do a great job = so, they pay attention to the details. They also provide excellent service - something today that today is almost a lost art when it comes to service. Beyond just how happy we are with what we consider a basically new looking house, is testament from our neighbors. I've already had two people ask me who did the work and they said they will be calling DK when they go to paint their houses. So when people note that Damian lets them know he's booked, it's because he does that good of a job and it's worth the wait. If you're not selling and don't really care about the outcome, go with someone who isn't booked - think of it like a hairstylist, the goods ones are never free for a month or two when you call, you have to wait, those who aren't so good you can usually get right int. So, if you want a great job done by people who care, be a little flexible on the timing and you will be happy you were. Overall, you will be more than happy with the work - you'll actually have fun! Best money we've spent to date fixing this place. read more

Agree with Kris L. and Steve F. This guy doesn't care about business. When I call ask for estimation of exterior painting job, he didn't ask about any detail about the project at all. I discovered DK on Yelp and am SO glad I did!! Damian and his great crew just finished painting our home at the end of a remodel, and we couldn't be more pleased. The painting he did was expertly done, with great attention to even the smallest details. We had a few 'change orders' in the process which he accommodated with no hesitation. So I called DK painting and the guy that I spoke to said that there were booked until October and weren't really taking any new business at this time. I was happy that he was up front about that, however, I am giving him a 5 star because after knowing he wasn't getting my business he still spent about 10 minutes talking to me about my house and explaining what I would need to do if I was going to paint it myself.
