There is a loft with gorgeous arched doors that open up to showcase a beautiful blue Minnesota sky and cloud---such a breathtaking vision. There is another building across from the bigger barn that you can utilize also. The restrooms were clean and modern. The outdoor space is never ending. The main barn inside lower level has a lot of wood and exposed stone --the space is large enough to house people yet remain intimate due to the aesthetic. Earlier this month, I was taking a look at Rochester International Airport. In the past, there was…read morenothing but land around the airport. It was a pleasant surprise seeing more development by the airport, from hotels to restaurants. I checked out Rochester International Event Center. I like the fact that if you have a wedding or some major function at this centre, you can fly in, stay at a hotel nearby, and enjoy yourself. This event centre has a ton of parking. It's free, which is nice when such a place is by the airport. You normally need to pay. This event centre has the largest ballroom in Southeast Minnesota. It's over 13,000 square feet. Accessibility is decent, where you can park by the main doors and have those needing assistance enter the centre without dealing with steps or a ramp. This place hosts a number of events, including weddings, conventions, meetings, seminars, and corporate events. It may be a bit far if you live in northern Rochester to some, but it's an easy drive down highways 52 and 63. The food menu looks good. I wish that i was invited to an event at this place! It was nice finding this event centre. There wasn't anything happening when I was here on a Friday evening in early April. Perhaps it's busier on weekends. (165)

A winter's farmer's market, hockey games, bull riding, flea markets just to name a few...but the big event every year is the Olmsted Country Free Fair and it is always a wonderful event to take your family to. You can get up close and personal with different breeds of pigs, cows, sheep, goats, horses...and talk to the people that are involved in raising them....I enjoy this very much. There is always a very competitive talent competition that will entertain and delight you....and let's not forget the corn dogs, lemon-aid and cotton candy.....oh yeah.....

They call many of these county fairs "free fairs" but you have to pay to get in. The money probably is for parking but no matter how you look at it it's not free. But it's a fun way to kill some time and the look at the exhibits.

Al worked with us several months before the reception to iron out details and get to know us over cocktails. His outgoing personality eased my concerns and I almost instantly felt comfortable giving him the reins on our dance party. Al is equipped with all the music and lighting you would need to enhance your dance floor (ours was in our garage as we had a backyard reception). On the day of, Al went above and beyond to help us keep to our timeline. He checked in with us and our families as we were busy mingling with guests, but in a way that was not intrusive. When my dessert donuts didn't fit the pegs on my MOH's donut wall, Al stepped right in to help us organize donut boxes. We didn't ask him to do this, it was simply out of the kindness of his heart. I would have Alan DJ our event again in a heartbeat. I was so impressed with how he continually kept the energy up on our dance floor (my legs were jello the next day!) and our guests expressed similar sentiments. You won't be sorry!
