They filled out an order form on the spot and took our money. They said we would receive email confirmation by the following week. Not sure why everybody else seems to have had a good experience.

Evergreen Island Venue went above and beyond for our event, and I truly cannot recommend them…read moreenough. On the day of our event, it was absolutely pouring rain, but their team did everything in their power to make it work. Their staff was outside helping dry the cement as much as possible, moving tables and chairs, and adjusting layouts on the fly. They were proactive, supportive, and never once made it feel like our event was a burden. When we ultimately decided to move the party into the warehouse, they immediately sent over their entire team and generously allowed us to use their tables, chairs, banquet tables, heaters, and even a cleaning crew. This event simply would not have been possible without their help. As soon as we arrived at the warehouse, they jumped in to assist with setup while my team and I were decorating. They even offered to let us keep the tables and chairs after hours. What truly stood out was their commitment they stayed for the entire event, helped with cleanup, and made sure everything was put away. Our employees had nothing but great things to say about the experience and how much fun they had. Evergreen Island Venue is not just a beautiful space it's a team of people who genuinely care about making your event successful, no matter the circumstances. We are so grateful for their support and professionalism. -Valmetal Team

I attended a work event that Evergreen was supposed to host, and I am honestly shocked at how…read morehorribly everything was handled. It was pouring rain, and instead of making a reasonable decision to move the event, the owners stubbornly insisted on keeping it at their venue, even though it was completely obvious it wouldn't work. At the very last minute, everything had to be moved to our warehouse just so the event could even happen. The amount of disorganization was unbelievable. When we got there, it somehow got worse. Only two people were trying to set up the entire event by themselves. Two. The owner was nowhere in sight, and it was painfully clear that nothing had been planned out. We even had to find our own bartender the same day because Evergreen didn't bother to provide one. Throughout the night, those two workers were doing everything, setting up, running around, keeping things together, and honestly, they deserved far more support than they got. If Evergreen had actually provided staffing, preparation, or leadership, the whole event wouldn't have been such a disaster. I can say without hesitation that I would not recommend booking any events here EVER AGAIN. The whole experience screamed understaffing, zero accountability, and complete lack of professionalism. As an attendee, it was frustrating, chaotic, and absolutely unacceptable. This venue is not reliable, not prepared, and not worth anyone's trust.

At the last minute he gave us a "deal" for a videographer but wanted the $600 ASAP. He did not show, Joey subcontracted some idiots who didn't speak English or have a translator on site, they didn't show up until the last minute with the wrong song list, the "videographer" was one of the dj's with a digital slr on video mode.. Without a tripod. Soo we listened to music we didn't ask for, had a Spanish speaking host pronounce all of our names wrong, had green and red f'ing disco lights at a historic elegant setting, and produced a video 6-months after our wedding that my 5 year old cousin could have done with a smart phone between his butt cheeks. Our close friend stepped in to host (un-paid), our coordinator basically took over the music, and we asked for a refund on the video since it was shaky, poorly edited (if you can call it that), and didn't include parts of the wedding he said it would include. Almost 2 years later he still hasn't produced a better video or the refund. Just awful. I can't believe this guy stays in business. STAY AWAY FROM J-LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. Desperate, I went on thumbtack and sent out a message (more like a distress signal). Among the replies I got back, Janice from Simply Elegant wedding and events reached out to me. She stood out instantly. She sent me links, and information. And a list of vendors to get on the phone right away. (Free of charge) and once we got on the phone she was extremely professional, funny, and sincere. She knew what I needed, and right away I knew I had to work with her. We made an instant connection, and I'm SO glad I found her! Throughout the past 9 months, Janice was available to me for questions I had, planning, she went with me to every vendor, helped picked our vendors, and was there for every step. Eventually I was calling her my "wedding mom". Haha! She is worth her weight in gold, and I couldn't have done it without her. My wedding was 2 weeks ago.. and it was BEAUTIFUL! Janice took control and made our dream wedding come true! Complete with my dorky Harry Potter stuff, and my husbands love for sports- she made it elegant and fun in such a seamless way. She even has an arsenal of wedding supplies and helped by bringing some of her own supplies! As well as her supplies, her vendors she works with were phenomenal! We used her caterer, make up artist, Dj (DjErick Ve) , florist , photographer, and party rentals. EVERY one of these vendors were amazing.. and a pleasure to work with. And they all worked amazing together with Janice. EVERYONE loved our wedding and we are still hearing about it from everyone. I couldn't believe the amount of detail and finesse she put into my day. And the whole time (even with the inevitable hiccups that happen- stupid ice guy never showed up) she handled everything the day of , figured it out, and allowed me and my new husband to enjoy wedding without us even knowing! If you're looking for a wedding planner that is not only VERY skilled and knowledgeable about what she does, but also someone who cares about YOU and your day. She is the one to call. Janice has become someone I love! And you better believe she will be invited to my future baby showers, and parties! Because not only is she professional.. she's a freaking BLAST to be around! Thank you Janice.. for everything. You made me feel so special and loved. And thank you for being my therapist, my "wedding mom", and my friend as well as my planner. My wedding was relatively small- I spent months working on decor, planning etc but unfortunately the staff started to clean up and take everything down before 9:30pm (we had the venue until 10). This basically resulted in the wedding feeling very "over" when we still had a lot of time that we paid for- I would have loved to dance the rest of the night away but because everything was already cleaned up- people thought it was over. I was a distracted bride and didn't realize what was going on until almost every table was empty - the staff seemed like they were in a rush to go home. The most upsetting issue was earlier in the day, our coordinator from the venue did not communicate with my family which resulted in my grandparents sitting in the back of my wedding. I would like to emphasize we only had about 75 people, less than 10 of those were my blood family and my grandparents SAT AT THE BACK. I can't believe a venue could not handle directing the traffic of 75 people. SEVERAL of my guest approached me after the wedding to say they felt uncomfortable before the wedding from the treatment they were receiving. My wedding cake was also put out incorrectly which resulted in hideous holes on the top of my cake ( I wish I was kidding) . I am a very type B person, I tried to make this wedding as simple as possible and I was extremely let down by this venue. I won't even get into the $200 that went missing at my wedding that they didn't seem to find on camera. Simply don't get married here- take your money somewhere else. All you will get is a $100 gift card to a breakfast restaurant as an apology.

We filled out the paper work and she told me I had use of the place for the entire day, so my event time didn't really matter. I put down my event time was until 4. They sent me a letter refusing to return any of the $300 deposit I paid because I went over the time of 4pm. (And because they say I didn't sweep and mop, I did sweep). If my event ended at 4, how would I break down and clean and be out by 4. But that didn't matter because she told me I had all day. I feel like this is a scam to keep the deposit. Additionally when I paid for the use, she did not tell me that they charge a credit card fee for using my credit card. If I had known they were going to charge an extra $24, I would have paid in cash. I didn't know until after she already charged my card. The place itself was just ok, old looking, could use some updating and fresh coat of paint. Not worth the price, and I was told it included the use of tv displays but no one could show me how to use it the day of my event, so it really wasn't included.
