Hello there Yelper,…read more I do not typically leave reviews, as I feel everything is pretty clear on what you can expect from services etc. However, I feel it is my civic duty as a civilian to leave a detailed review and account of my experience from working with Adie and having them M.C. at my wedding. We locked in our reservation with a deposit about a year before the event. Once it got closer in, we had a few phone calls with Adie, detailing what they would be doing at the wedding and what type of music we were interested in. Adie had me and my wife download an app, to answer all types of questions about preferences and skips and must plays. We also took it upon ourself to make a 9 hour playlist, just to show the kind of music we enjoyed. Fast forward to our wedding day, Adie arrives later than expected, very frantic and disheveled. She asked if her car parked in half in the driveway/half on the sidewalk was fine. I didn't really have an answer for her and then she began telling me the excuse and reason why she was late, in her pajamas, and panicked. It being my wedding day, I didn't stick around to find out what the excuse was. Adie proceeded to set up their equipment as guests were arriving, so the music we intended to be hearing wasn't necessarily playing at that time. I approached Adie with a $25 Gift card an Bag of Chocolates, to give as a prize for our guests for a scavenger hunt. Adie rolled her eyes but agreed to announce it. (After the event ended, she never announced the hunt and never returned the prize to us or gave it to a guest). When it was time for dinner, we asked her to announce table numbers. She rolled her eyes and after tables 1&2 finished, we had to tell her to announce 3&4. Those were the last tables she announced, as they were preoccupied looking for their car keys. My best man had to go to every individual table and let them know to get food. While this is happening, the music is cracking, cutting in and out, or simply not playing at all. When it's time to kick off the music, we were very clear out what the first should have been. Once the music awkwardly started on the wrong song, I walked over and told Adie to play our requested song, she said "it's in the queue". Once the song finally played, it was an unrecognizable remake. The only time the crowd was active was when Adie played a song directly from our playlist. I can only imagine what would've happened if we didn't provide that beforehand. On a list a 10 must plays, I think she played 3. We told her not to skip "Wayne features" and she skipped each one. We were very clear on what the final song of the night should've been as well and Adie failed to play that song. Once the night ended, Adie spent an hour+ looking around the property and creeping out our guests. We waited a few days to see if Adie would reach out to us to explain their behaviors on our wedding day. Adie didn't, so we sent an email expressing our disappointment. Adie has since blocked myself, my wife, and my DOG on social media (where we've never interacted with her accounts). All in all, this was a terrible experience, I would never recommend Adie to anyone looking for a DJ/MC/or Host. I am baffled at how horrible they were and the fact that people suggested her to us. With peace and love, I hope she gets the help she needs. -ceremony went fine (still skipped a listed entrance song) -she played SOME songs from our list -she arrived in pajamas she didn't announce anything properly (even my name wrong) -we explicitly said no EDM, she played EDM. - terrible attitude, never willing to work for a resolution - went out of their way to block us instead of conversing

It took me a moment to decide to write this review because honestly I was feeling bad for her. But,…read moreI feel it's important to share our experience with Adie and GroundLoop Events. I will start with the positive. We had a really clear open line of communication with Adie from the beginning when we began planning our event a year and a half ago. We were prompted to download an app and complete a slew of questions to better get to know us and what we want. We also had an email thread going where explained how important music was to us and we had a few phone calls. During this whole process Adie ensured that all of our requests could and would be met and she would be M.C. all night. She said she would move the event along based on the timeline given to her and would even call our table numbers. We were excited to work with her and appreciated her openness and feedback. For the ceremony the equipment worked well and our guests could hear us and the music was as we expected. Now for the bad stuff. Adie showed up to our event later than we expected and she was wearing her pajamas. She was frantic and disheveled and it really seemed something was wrong. Again the ceremony went off without a hitch but immediately after the ran into problems. We asked Adie to announce it was time for the piñata and to move to the lawn. She was visibly upset by the request and said she was trying. At this time my husband and I decided to just tell our guests ourselves to make their way to the lawn. We figured during this time it would give her a moment to collect herself and get it together. After the cocktail hour my husband and I made our way back to Adie to tell her we would scratch the grand entrance to which she seemed relieved and asked her to begin announcing tables 2 at a time. She made it to table 5 out of 14 before she gave up and stopped calling numbers. My husband and I then had to go through and tell our guests 1 table at a time to get their food. Additionally, during this time the music was abruptly stopping and changing to the next song and also cutting in and out. By this point I was very frustrated because the service we were promised was not being delivered on. Once all the tables were called, I went back to Adie and asked her to announce the speeches. She audibly sighed and rolled her eyes. At this point I (the bride) asked her if she was okay or if there was a problem... she then went into a story about losing her keys and her outfit getting locked in the car and how her speakers were getting wet because of the bad weather etc. I offered towels and plastic bags, anything to help her get the show on the road and she was still upset and rejected my assistance. We asked a family member at this point to essentially babysit her and make sure she was making the rest of the day happen or to just make her leave. Ultimately we had her stay and complete the event but this was due to the fact that we already paid her not because we were happy with the services. She asked us for an absolute must play list and she maybe played 5 of the 10 that were on there. She also did not play the last song of the night we requested. Lastly, when the night was over, she asked me to help her look for her keys so myself and my brother combed the backyard searching for her keys which were not found. She hung out at the venue for an hour and half after the music stopped without coming up with another solution to leave. This actually made many of our guests uncomfortable because we were staying on property, we felt unsafe. While I understand these things happen, there should have been a level of professionalism that removed her hard day from the event and job she was hired for. We have not received any contact from Adie or Ground Loop since the event and it has been almost a week. If it wasn't for our other vendors and family members stepping up to the plate, this would have ruined our wedding. It certainly put undue stress and hardship on myself and my husband. Overall I don't recommend using this service.

While having…read morea planner was required for most venues in Mendocino, we are so grateful that we chose her. Zoe is incredibly organized and executed our entire wedding weekend flawlessly. She remembered everything we wanted to do, ensured it all happened exactly as planned, and even reminded us of things we didn't realize we needed to think about. Not one detail was dropped. Her list of preferred vendors was outstanding -- every single one was professional, talented, and a joy to work with. Mendocino is a tight-knit creative community where everyone knows each other and often works together, and it's clear that Zoe holds a very high bar for quality. That standard shows in the team she surrounds herself with. Zoe and her team also guided us through decisions we didn't even know we had to make -- extra bathrooms or not, tent or no tent, how many heaters were needed, uplighting for the reception, and so much more. Having her expertise meant we could make informed choices without stress or second-guessing. Our wedding weekend ran perfectly, and we were able to truly enjoy it because we trusted Zoe completely. If you are getting married in Mendocino (or anywhere she works), hiring Zoe is the best gift you can give yourself.

This balance makes her extremely well suited for her job, allowing us to relax knowing that everything would be handled perfectly. We worked with Zoe from the beginning, before we had chosen a venue, all the way through to saying goodbye after the brunch the day after the wedding. We are eternally grateful to her for helping us pull off the wedding of our wildest dreams! Zoe is good at her job. Our wedding was a bit complicated - from glamping tents to shower trailers, from multiple DJs to Drag Queens, from 3 cocktail hours to multiple brunches. Zoe kept a lot of moving parts in her head throughout a long planning process and helped us iron out an uncountable number of kinks. With her help, we unlocked savings with certain vendor contracts. With her help, everything stayed on time. With her help, we were able to surprise our guests with 3 different performances during the wedding reception. Zoe knows Mendocino well. Her deep roots along the coast became deeply valuable throughout the planning process. When we wanted to best pastries for our glampers, she had us try Franny's in Point Arena. When we wanted a vinyl DJ, she introduced us to Colby in Gualala. When we needed brunch at a reasonable price, she suggested Shay, a young caterer getting their business off the ground. Mendocino is one of most magical places I know and I know it because of Zoe's guidance. Zoe is a calming presence. Planning a wedding is a stressful ordeal. Every time we had a call with Zoe, she answered our questions clearly and concisely, offering help much of the time. But beyond the content of her answers, she had a way of reducing the anxiety my partner and I were feeling at that moment. This carried through well during the wedding weekend, when she consistently reminded us, through her actions, that we were in good hands. We cannot recommend Zoe and her team highly enough! You'll be in good hands!

(Her second 'job' is helping people learn how to regulate their nervous system using breath work.) 2. Our weekend - which was at a venue (our retreat center, Whispertree Retreat) that was largely outdoors. The weekend weather went from hoped-for blue skies and billowing white clouds to a 30 degree temperature drop and rain forecast. Prasada patiently held the line assisting us with a Plan A, B AND C for the weekend, depending on the weather, a call we would make the morning of. I cannot tell you how much forethought this took! But Prasada did not complain ONCE. Rather, she held the course and even spearheaded the final plan C option that eventually turned out to work perfectly(!!) for us. 3. During the event, itself, Prasada spun plates behind the scenes. protecting us from a few (unavoidable) things that happened - some of which I STILL think we don't know about. 4. I really care about details and how things look. Beauty is so much a part of what people can notice and feel that helps make an event feel warm, welcoming and heart-opening. Prasada gets that, too, and has a great eye! I really trusted her to set things up just as I asked, and even improve on the outcome. 5. Prasada ALSO works at an event rental company. She has years of experience understanding issues related space and rentals and could probably help you address these issues in her SLEEP. Please do not think twice about hiring Prasada for your event. I enjoyed working with her so much that one thought I have the morning after it all is: What's the next event we can work on with her?!

My husband and I are still in awe at how perfect our Wedding weekend was at MacCallum House last…read moresummer (July of 2019). My husband is from New Zealand and I grew up in Germany so we had many international guests join us in Mendocino at MacCallum House for our Wedding and we couldn't have heard more rave reviews. There were many times our guests excitedly exclaimed to us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to! We picked the Mendocino Overlook for our Ceremony and were shuttled to and from by the stretch limo included in our package from MacCallum House. What a beautiful ceremony location which is a quick ride from MacCallum House. We were ever so lucky with the weather, sunshine, light winds and blue skies! Our reception was out in a tent on the grounds of MacCallum House. We had a photo booth, fire pit and lounge seating outside the tent. Inside the tent was the dance floor, more lounge seating and of course the bar! Our tent reception ended at 10pm but we are so happy the we transitioned seamlessly into the Mac House were the party continued on until much later! The dance party we were able to host inside MacCallum House with our DJ was one of our highlights. The food that Alan puts together is out of this world. We are fine dining restaurant lovers and wanted to make sure that our Wedding included our love of good food and wine. Mac House did not disappoint. Every steak was cooked to perfection and my vegetarian sister was in heaven with her vegetarian options! All of the appetizers that were passed were exactly as we had always hoped for, a touch of sushi was such a hit! My wine loving parents were thrilled with our wine options and my Whiskey loving husband and his friends were pleased with the Spirit and Cocktail options. We are so happy that we added on Late Night food for our guests which were put out in the MacCallum House during the late night dance party. We opted for the Morning after brunch. The Mac House did a fantastic job of changing up the decor a little in the tent and welcomed our guests back at 10am the morning following our Wedding. It was such a lovely way to end our Wedding weekend, sharing stories from the previous night, sharing a few last drinks (Mimosas and bloody Marys) and finally saying our goodbyes. Elisa was our onsite coordinator and I can not praise her enough. She made sure that every need was taken care of on our special day. Furthermore, she was so responsive and organized in the lead up to our wedding weekend. She responded to texts, calls and emails quickly and was able to predict any hiccup before it even occurred. Her personality is well suited for her job and she makes you feel more like you are communicating with your best friend while planning for the big day! Mollie, MacCallum House's General Manager, is ever so heartwarming and welcoming and the rest of the Mac team made sure all of our guests were well attended to and needs met! We had multiple planning weekends up in Mendocino and each time we arrived, we were met with such enthusiasm and open arms by the Mac House team. We went back to Mac House in October of 2019 following our July 2019 wedding and again we were made to feel so at home. You can't beat a cocktail or glass of wine in the Whale Bar, that's for sure. We know we will be coming back again and again to MacCallum House and can't thank them enough for hosting our dream Wedding! We highly recommend the MacCallum House for any and all events!

He went above and beyond in every possible way and even stayed past his contracted time because we were running behind schedule and he knew we'd want footage of our first dances, which was so kind of him to do. The turnaround for our highlight reel was only a few days and was absolutely mesmerizing. The way he captured the magic of the day was truly phenomenal and beyond anything we had hoped for, and we were so happy to have an artifact delivered so soon after the wedding. We even requested additional video packages because we were so impressed with his work and how he told the story of our day! This says a lot because originally we were on the fence about hiring a videographer at all. Above all, it was really important to us that our vendors be LGBTQ-friendly, especially our photographer and videographer who would be working with our wedding party, and Nile was so inclusive and great at working with every single one of our loved ones.
