We couldn't have been happier with David Carvalho as our wedding DJ. Mixing soul, funk, country, and EDM isn't exactly a simple request, but he nailed it. The dance floor stayed full, the transitions were seamless, and his energy was infectious. He and his assistant also made sure our vows were heard clearly -- something that matters so much more than people realize. He kept the night flowing with minimal announcements and maximum musical magic. The vibe he created was next-level. Our only regret is that we didn't hire David for our late‑night after‑hours party. read more

david is such a fun DJ! he gets everyone dancing, is a great vibe and so many people go up to him to share what a great time they had.

David completely understood our vision for every section of the wedding. My wife's father/daughter dance song was initially going to be longer than we wanted and he made a seamless edit of the song to fit within our parameters. David was also incredibly quick responding to emails and providing feedback. The audio during the ceremony was clear even with some pretty strong winds. Once the dancing started it didn't stop until the end of the night. He kept the flow going and was able to read the crowd and adjust. All of our friends and family were raving about how much fun they had dancing and how good the DJ was. We plan to seek out David when he DJ's in a club soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I had the pleasure of working with David for my wedding, and I couldn't be happier that I chose him as my DJ. My venue had strict policies in place for all vendors to adhere to, but David handled all preparation and execution with promptness, dependability, and professionalism the entire way through. As for the actual DJ-ing, David was flawless. He provided all the necessary equipment for the ceremony in the courtyard, hit all the music right on cue during the ceremony, and kept the reception dance floor on fire for hours with a mix of 90s hip hop and rnb + a sprinkling of top 40 (my preference; you can specify any songs/genres you like during wedding planning). He's also a super nice guy and a breeze to work with. 10/10, highly recommended! read more

We had David for our wedding and he did such a great job that people, young and old didn't stop dancing whole night until 2am! he kept the energy high and everybody was having a blast with his ingenuous mash-ups. he had few phone meetings and he was very professional and even though we gave him very little guidelines ("make it fun") he hit a home run on the music selection. we also saw him at several major clubs in the city where he was headlining and he is AMAZING! every time was different music but every time was a blast! read more

Listen up brides and grooms to be... Book David as soon as you can!!! If you want your guests to dance their butts off, there is no better DJ to make this happen. If I could give David 10 stars I absolutely would. When looking for DJ's for my October wedding, I found the experience to be slightly challenging as the wedding entertainment market is flooded with vendors claiming to be excellent. While they might be, my husband and I had a few qualifications: 1.) No douchebaggery from the DJ meaning no cheese, no weird music, and no chicken dance. 2.) FUN! We wanted good music that flowed. A few old school jams, some rap, some hip hop, some house. Basically appeal to all ages. 3.) Good energy and professionalism from our DJ. David exceeded our qualifications and could not have done a better job. Not only is he one of the nicest people I have met in a very long time, but he was excited to be at our event. He showed up on time and set up right away. He spun all night and my only regret was not having him start earlier. Love this guy and he is worth every penny and more. 10 STARS! read more

Book David ASAP!!!! There is only one David Carvalho, and once you hear his music and the way he DJ's you will never want to use anyone else!! David handled our wedding ceremony, the hora and reception, and did not have one person sitting down the entire night!! He kept the music high energy and fun all night. Our one requirement was we did not want any of the traditional "top 100 wedding songs" you hear at every wedding, and boy did David exceed all of our expectations! He MC'd the entire night as well, transitioning everyone throughout the different rooms from dinner, speeches to dancing seamlessly. Working with David was an absolute dream - He's incredibly professional, responsive, timely and by far the best DJ in the world!! He DJ's at clubs, events and weddings all over the globe and we feel lucky to have had him be a part of ours. David, YOU ROCK!!!! Thank you!!! read more

As current Chairman of one of San Francisco's oldest non-profit organizations, reputation is very important. For the past 7 years I've personally hired or have been involved in the hiring of David Carvalho for an event we host in Union Square, which has an attendance of approximately 400 people (ages 22-40+). The event has been a huge success for 17 years and our organization trusts nobody to do a better job than David. He knows exactly how to read the crowd, play the right music at the right time, and most importantly when to turn things up when the time is right! As having been involved with much event planning, supervising your vendors can be a big pain and a huge time drain, which of course detracts from the fun you have. David needs no supervision and handles himself with the utmost professionalism. When David's on the job, it is very clear that he has his host's best interests in mind and will work with them in any way to make the event a big success. I have not bothered to read these other reviews below- but I can tell you that with 7 years of experience working with David, he is by far your best choice, hands down. My organization will be working with David for many-many more years to come- You will not be disappointed. Cheers. read more

DC was the DJ at our wedding celebration. One word - Hallelujah! Thanks again, David. G & J read more

Truly, as good as it gets! Book him today! It has been two years since our wedding and we STILL have people talking about our kick-ass DJ; thank you David!! You were professional and polite with all my OCD emails and requests (no traditional wedding songs to pull down the vibe [check!], a looong list of eclectic must-haves [not a problem!]). My one dream for our wedding was to have a fully packed, joyous dance floor at the end of the night and we did. Our friends video recorded the last song and it still brings shivers up my spine to see all the happy, jumping crazies that stayed until the very end to surround my (then) new husband and I... awesomeness. [this is such a late praise because... life moves a lot faster after you get married :)] read more

Absolutely awesome!! Totally thrilled with the performance on my husband's birthday party! We will book him again. 100% Thank you!!

Booked David for my Nov. 2015 wedding in the Santa Cruz mountains. He absolutely rocked the house. Found him looking for burner-friendly DJs, but to play a wide selection of soul/funk/rock/dance/desert music. He was really receptive to specifics we wanted played, and then filled in the gaps excellently both to our tastes, but also to the pulse of the crowd on the dance floor to make sure there was never a lull in action. Thanks again David! read more

David was the DJ for our August 3 wedding and he was better than we could have imagined. My husband said he "played a great mix of old school and new music" and best of all he kept our crowd dancing all night long! We were on the dance floor most of the night and when we weren't there was always a huge group of our friends and family out there enjoying themselves. He was also very punctual (arrived at the exact time stated in the contract and was very responsive to emails-which as all brides and grooms know is one of the most important things vendors can do to keep their experience positive) and he emceed the reception to perfection. Our friends commented on two things about our wedding: how great our food was and how amazing our DJ and music was! We didn't want the night to end; we will be forever grateful that David was a part of our day!!! read more

We hired David to DJ at our wedding on the recommendation from a friend, and never regretted it a single moment. During the months leading up to the wedding, he was very professional and incredibly responsive over email - including even helping us jump through some unexpected venue insurance requirement hoops that popped up at the last minute. From a music standpoint, we were very pleased with the music selection, and given the number of guests (and age range) of people who danced at our wedding, we know our guests were impressed, too. Highly recommended. read more

Wow! David was punctual, polite, and played preferred music all night. There wasn't a single song folks didn't seem to like. Once it was his turn to run the reception, I never heard the music stop. Music everybody knew, woven together seamlessly, pulled even those who don't dance out of their shell. David had young and old dancing for hours. Nobody wanted to quit, few left the dance floor. David was such a pleasure to work with! I got married on October 30th at the SFDC. We requested a wide variety of music and he kept everyone on the dance floor all night!! He was so professional and accommodating and was able to please everyone. I will definitely use him again for my next event!!!! read more

David DJ'd our wedding, and it was awesome! Keeping the dance floor full from start to finish is how it's done! Thanks, David!

David really pulled through for a wedding that we had on the first day of the fires in Napa. The main venue cancelled and we had to scramble to find another one last minute. David was in touch with us in the morning and stayed in touch all day on stand by, finally showing up once the venue was selected and set up began. This work ethic and commitment was huge and we would not have had a wedding without him. Not to mention his DJ set was perfect for the crowd and his MC voice was smooth and professional. Will will work with David in the future, 100%. read more

David did a great job with the wedding for our ceremony and reception. People, young and old, danced the entire night. Working with David was so easy. He was professional, friendly and very responsive. All we did was provide him with a bit of direction in terms of our favorite songs and songs that we didn't want played and he created the perfect playlist. He handled the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and it was all great. Working with David was on of the easiest and best decisions we made during the entire process. read more

David is AMAZING! Best decision we made for our wedding day! He was super professional, and even scheduled a call the week before our wedding to review song requests and music selections to learn a bit more about our personal music style (likes and dislikes). I was so impressed by how thorough and thoughtful he was - he truly seemed to care about making our day a success (and tons of fun!). In addition, he was a great MC throughout the night, he really commanded the room and made everything run so smoothly (i.e. helped with bridal party intros, kept the flow of speeches going, helped migrate guests from dinner to cake cutting, special dances, garter/bouquet toss, etc.). Once we hit the dance floor, he ROCKED the house! Our dance floor was outside and we were originally a bit concerned that as it cooled down, we would lose a few guests, but David kept the party going! Our dance floor was completely full the entire night, he played music that appealed to all generations and everyone danced the entire night away. If that's not a sign of a good party, then I don't know what is! My husband and I remember David announcing the last song of the night and looking around at the packed dance floor and thinking "wow, this guy is amazing...he literally kept this party going strong all night long"! It was the best night of our lives and we owe a big shout-out to David for making our day that much more amazing! If you are looking for a fun, personable and incredibly talented DJ for your special event or party...look no further and book David Carvalho. He is THE BEST!!! read more

David Carvalho was our wedding DJ three weeks ago and he rocked the joint!! David is extremely professional and passionate about his job and will exceed your expectations guaranteed! We've had so many people contact us to say how much they loved the music. David brings his extensive library and weaves many styles together to keep the crowd moving. For those who don't think so, we had him play everything from Benny Goodman to New Order to the Pharcyde to Jay-Z and practically everything in between! He made it seamless... We can't recommend him highly enough! read more

I've worked with David for a few years now and every single project that we have hired him to perform at an AT&T Park for a Giants home game, has been a very enjoyable experience for us and our fans. We never have any issues, concerns, doubts as we know our entertainment is in great hands with Dave on the decks. He understands his audience and makes it a point every time to do all that he can in ensuring a pleasant experience for everyone involved. I've had an opportunity to work with countless DJ's over the years in a high profile setting and I can honestly say that David makes our jobs a lot easier and makes us look that much better based on his years of experience, professionalism and overall work ethic! David Carvalho was my wedding DJ last weekend and he was amazing. He was recommended to me from a friend who loved him and he met all expectations. He played those songs that you didn't even know you wanted played. We didn't even tell him very much just our style and he did an amazing job. We danced till the end and just had the best time ever. Plus, David is so incredibly nice, we LOVED him!!! read more

David was the DJ for our wedding just a few weeks ago, and it was the BEST decision we made. We had been to a few weddings and events where David was the DJ, and we knew he was the guy for us. He was extremely easy to work with, quick on email, and literally played ever song we asked him to play. All we wanted was a 'dance party' wedding, and boy, did David deliver. Everyone was dancing from beginning to end...the dance floor was packed all night long! Our wedding guests keep telling us how much fun they had and what an awesome DJ we had, and we couldn't agree more. If you want the best dance party possible, book DJ David Carvalho. I would seriously give him 10 stars if I could. Thanks again David for an amazing time!! read more

What an amazing night! We did have a super traditional wedding....we wanted a great party with our friends and family and once we found David, I knew he would be perfect. We had a few back and forth conversations about our vision and he took all of our wants and needs and turned it into everything we could dream of. It was not an easy feat either...between my classic rock loving parents, the folk music lovers and a huge crowd of house heads, he had everyone dancing! I would highly recommend David for your event.... he made ours amazing! read more

David deserves all 5 stars! We just returned from our honeymoon and are recalling all the fun memories from our wedding weekend... most of which were on the dance floor!! We got so many compliments on the music and DJ. David, it was such a pleasure working with you!! Thank you for keeping our dance floor alive and making our wedding one for the books. We can't thank you enough! read more

David was AWESOME and absolutely nailed all parts of our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour music and rocked the dance floor during the reception. We had guests from all over the country at our wedding at Kunde Estate and he had everyone dancing and knew exactly how and when to address the crowd. We gave him groups that we liked/had seen and wanted all of the music to have a meaning - rather than give him specific songs to play and he interpreted our needs perfectly!! We couldn't have asked for anything more. I highly recommend David and Boutique DJs - we will definitely be using them again for any events in/around San Fran and CA wine country!! read more

DJ Carvalho recently played at my wedding and the music was really outstanding. He blew our expectations out of the water. Almost every single person at the wedding contacted us the next day to let us know how awesome the DJ was. He also has such a laid back charm about him and it was a pleasure working with him. We highly recommend him. read more

We hired David Carvahlo to play at our anniversary/birthday party this weekend at the Presidio. He was FANTASTIC!! WE had 170 people in attendance and most of them were up and dancing all night. David knew just what to play for the cocktail hour and when to crank it up for dancing. Several of our guests commented on his great play list. I will definitely use him for every party. He is a really nice guy, too. Perfect combination of skill and personality. Thank you, David for making our party a big hit! read more

DJ David Carvalho was fantastic at our wedding at the Cornerstone Gardens a few weeks ago. He played exactly what we wanted and was the perfect "un-wedding" wedding DJ. In all my communications with him, he was professional and enthusiastic about meeting our specific requests. When we finally met him at the reception, he was even better in person. Super sweet and always with a smile on his face. Thank you! read more

We hired David for our wedding this past Saturday and he is AMAZING! I heard him spin at the Guardsman's Party in SF a few years ago and then at another friend's wedding and he does not disappoint!! David listened carefully to the style of music we wanted and played all the songs we requested. He has a great musical and artistic sense. He is very professional and not the typical "wedding DJ". I would recommend him highly so please book him early before you miss the great opportunity to hire him. He is simply the best! read more

David did an absolutely amazing job from during our ceremony all the way through the end of our reception. He has great situational awareness and it helped every transition we had feel exciting throughout the afternoon and evening. He was very personable with all of our guests (which had a wide variety in music preferences) and directly contributed to them having an amazing time, not only through the music, but his attitude and energy is contagious. We would highly recommend him for any wedding, corporate event or party and do not believe that a better find exists! read more
