We rode on Christmas Day and it was unseasonably cold and windy (about 40 degrees) but it was…read morespectacular! The horses were well trained and easy to ride, the guides were knowledgeable and gave us fun facts about Sea Island and the surrounding areas (we had Noel on Christmas Day), and the scenery was beautiful. We rode through the marsh to the beach. It was low tide so the beach was huge and gave us plenty of room to space out. The sand was blowing across and almost looked like snow! Two things I would improve; it would have been nice to be able to trot or Gallup for a minute when we had ample room to play, and having someone to take pictures while on the beach would have been nice as well. The guide said they were not allowed and it was hard to do it while riding. What a wonderful Christmas ride!

My friend and I signed up for the Sea Island Beach Ride at The Stables at Frederica on Rainbow…read moreIsland, and we're so glad we did. I had only been on about 5 trail rides before this one, always feeling a bit nervous because of one bad experience. However, on this ride, with the wonderful instruction beforehand by the guides and the sweet, calm, well-trained and cared-for horses, I felt totally comfortable and truly enjoyed every minute of the ride. The guides were absolutely wonderful. They were professional, did a great job matching us with the right horse, and put safety first. With one guide leading the pack and another bringing up the rear, we had an incredible ride through the marshland and beach. It was such a peaceful and beautiful ride and one that we will never forget. I highly recommend!

My Daughter was super excited to go riding until she actually got to the horse and saw how large it…read morewas. She got one leg up on the saddle but then couldn't bring herself to get in, after repeated attempts. Initially the staff were very patient but then stated repeating again and again that she either needed to get on now or stay behind because they were running late. With that much pressure I decided to stay back with her as I wasn't going to let a young girl hang out in an unknown place with one unknown male staff in attendance as they were suggesting. When I asked for a refund I was refused as we did not provide 48 hour notice. Reading the cancellation policy "In order to receive a full refund, rides must be cancelled no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled ride time. We are unable to provide refunds for rides cancelled the day of or to guests who fail to show up for their ride." Just to be clear, we did not cancel. We were told get on the horse or we have to leave without you. That is the staff canceling, not me. At no time during this ordeal were we told that we would not get a refund because the staff thought we were taking too long. When I had called for the booking I had specifically said that I had two first time riders that were very nervous and was told that it wasn't a problem. I just got off the phone with the manager Claire who said that "it looks bad" if they delay the ride. If I was a no show or canceled last minute I would totally understand the no refund. What is completely unfair and unprofessional is being told we have to leave without you but not give your money back.

Claire took her time evaluating each rider for each horse. Meredith led the tour and gave great information about the island. The scenery is beautiful and the ride so relaxing. While some folks may be waiting for Basketball season to start, I am more excited about another…read moretype season! It's Blueberry season here in Georgia and what a perfect day for blueberry picking it was yesterday! It was overcast and in the low 70s (whaaaat?!), so I took advantage of the "cool" temps and packed up the kids in the car and headed out to Heritage Hill Farm in Ludowici (never knew it was pronounced Ludo-wi-SEE haha). - Parking - You'll have to park by the fields. There is no lot, but you can park along the edges, as long as you don't box anyone in. - Picking & Price Info - You must call Linda, the owner of the farm, at the number on the business listing to set up a time for picking. The address listed is the official address of business, but the fields are located before the listed address. She'll give you the directions to the field once you speak to her. It's $10/gallon, BYOB (bring your own bucket) and this includes AYCE (all you can eat) blueberries. Seriously. I asked if she was sure. She said yes. She's obviously never met my kids haha. My kids had no problems rising to the challenge. As I picked 2, they ate 4. The blueberries are so sweet and so is Linda. She has a big heart and donates ALL of the proceeds to her ministry that provides food and care for needy children. Fields are open until July 31st. Cash only. There were a quite a few families there, but the fields were large enough and the bushes were full of blueberries that we didn't even cross paths with any other families. Great activity for social distancing. 1.5 hours later, 2 gallons picked. I would say it was a BERRY successful day! Enjoy!
