We didn't actually bowl there because it was a league night when we went in, and we ended up leaving and going to Fiesta Fun Center instead, where we had a blast playing miniature golf. Dixie Bowl looks like a great place for league bowling but I don't know about just going in for a free bowl unless you time it correctly. It's small but seems friendly and it probably costs less than bowling at Fiesta Fun. If you are looking for a good, old fashioned bowling alley without giant fancy LED screens and neon style lighting, this is your place. If you want more of a flashy bowling experience with music videos, and all sorts of cool visuals, then you'd probably like Fiesta Fun better. Both are great, just different. read more

You may bowl ten times without getting a count since the lanes occasionally glitch out and fail to count the correct pins. In these cases, you may have to manually enter the score to solve the issue, unless you get a strike. You must roll heavier since certain bowling lanes are slippier than others. On a non-dedicated league night, I went bowling, and this old guy's wife decided to come up to me and berate me for bowling at the same time I was minding my own lane and business. On top of 100 individuals conversing at once, there is a pool and other games going on, and there are even other so-called "leagues" players playing bowling concurrently. Professional bowlers only play against other professionals; those matches take place on specific days. The employees and owner are transphobic, which I believe to be discrimination against me, and they made up rules targeting me with such bigotry. Stay far away from this place. Rebuttal: In no sport do you combine professional and casual. I had never had this problem in the past on any night. The venue was pretty noisy, and I was not alone in what I was doing as other bowlers did. Bigots need to mind your own business; there's a reason the lanes are separated. Even though I was the only one targeted for discrimination, you can imagine that anyone who paid to go bowling would be annoyed to have to wait on others in their own lane. The rules clearly different in all professional settings. This was in fact clearly being discriminated against for being transgender and you know it. My response is perfectly reasonable in my position I left voluntarily but not without getting earful after politely saying no and reason why. No one will defend me except me this was an unreasonable request. Treat others how you want to be treated and this exactly what I did here if you're rude to me don't expect me be nice back. read more

Oh my goodness. If there was zero stars I would. Let me fill you in on the changes they've made: 1) The guy working today with the reindeer hat was so rude, and totally killed everyone's excitement. 2) they don't let you check in or pay unless everyone is here (even if it's a fairly large group). 3) they don't let anyone over the age of 9 use bumpers (we don't go much and my brothers are only 12, so they had a hard time and didn't do well. Again, kills the fun) 4) anyone 13 and up can't have balls less than 10lbs. My mom, sister, and I are on the tiny side and 10 lbs was hard. Not to mention my grandma bowled too and we were nervous she would fall doing a 10lb ball every turn. 5) rude about drinks. I get it, they need to be away from the lane, but my brother picked it up to drink while waiting (and standing right next to the bench) and was told to get rid of it. 6) they said they were closing early at 5 today. We got there at 3:45 and was told we could only do one game. After the one game on 2 lanes, it was 4:15 and he still wouldn't have let us do another one. Absolutely horrible and will not be likely to ever return. read more

Dixie is a popular, well run bowling center. Everyone is respected and appreciated. Lanes and equipment are well maintained, facilities are very clean. Ignore the negative reviews, everyone is welcome, treated equally and the food is great. Attentive staff and a safe, family friendly atmosphere. read more

I sure hope the guy running the desk isn't the owner. He has awful people skills. Just because you like to bowl doesn't mean you should buy a bowling alley. And if your not the owner.... heaven help them. He's running you out of business. What a TERRIBLE person Berry I don't think your manager is being completely truthful here. He was anything but polite and based on your multiple reviews of him yelling at other people back me up. Also he wasn't threatened by an angry father to beat him up. Although I'm sure that made his story sound better to you. It doesn't look good for a small business owner to defend his out of control manager and then spread lies on a social media platform about customers. These kids were just trying to have fun and do something "normal". Needles to say we won't be back. It's not a very welcoming establishment. read more

This is the only place we'll bowl. My teen boys are here all the time, it's very affordable- especially with the starving student card. It's always clean, the staff is helpful when we need it, and I prefer the more old-school bowling alley vibe more then alleys in arcades read more

Very old environment. Lots of locals (with great scores by the way). A bit divey, but ok. Had a fun time. However, if you are serious about bowling skip this place because bad ball selection and very oily balls and lanes. Florescent lighting. They happily accommodated our group, arranged for us to bowl together in one area, and made sure the kids had a fun time. The nostalgic setting is top-notch. Just went a tried out the cheesesteaks here and it was delicious. My husband got the sandwich and I had the fries. The fries were amazing! The service wasn't the greatest but the person was working alone so I can imagine how boring that would be. I wish they played music even if it was quiet to kind of boost the atmosphere. read more

A cute bowling center, with a very nice owner. We came here to watch some great older bowlers at the Senior World Games, and were thoroughly impressed by the level of play among a lot of the competitors. As for the facility, it's a bit small, but still gets the job done. Don't know if it can get crowded, but I would imagine that it could get that way on the weekends. There's some food and a coffee shop style counter up front, which definitely gives it some old school charm. read more

My wife and I brought our 4 grandchildren, ages 3-8, to bowl here on February 9th. It was a wonderful experience and I wanted to commend all the staff that were working that afternoon. The reason for this is that they were so patient and friendly while tending to the little mishaps that can happen with small children that are such young and inexperienced bowlers. By mishaps, I mean things like missing the bumpers entirely, causing the ball to get stuck in the gutters, etc. They probably came out 5 times to help us during our 2 games and had a great attitude who whole time. i did the owner, barry a huge favor and came to his house the day of to fix his bqq for him. instead of charging him pur rate of $250 dollars he said he would pay me by giving me bowling shoes. he took 17 dollars off the shoes when I fixed his bbq in the 107 degree weather after 45 minutes of labor on top of the parts I bought for him. Barry will look for anyway possible to screw you out of a deal and make a quick buck. ever since then he refuses to call or let me return my shoes. the lanes here are terrible. I would recommend if you are a serious bowler to not give these scam artist your money. sunset bowl heard what Barry did and gave me 15 free games and a pair of shoes because that's how they do business at sunset bowl. Barry is the worst business man in at George and will never get my business again, bowling or appliances service also by the way sunset also takes much better care of their lanes and when I bought my ball from Barry he broke the end and wouldn't refund it, so the man at sunset gave me a new ball for free as well! Dixie bowl doesn't care about bowlers, they care about screwing young bowlers away from learning the game.- Brady Chidester. This is a great environment for everybody. We have been bowling at Dixie Bowl and have never had any issues. I've read a comment on here about the owner getting mad about throwing the ball "too fast", which isn't accurate at all. The only time that any worker would tell you slow down is if you are using one of the custom light balls behind the counter that WILL BREAK if you throw them too fast. Just be courteous of the property and enjoy yourself. Helpful staff and newly renovated area looks awesome! read more

The owner of this place needs to learn how to deal with confrontation in a respectful way. We were bowling and my friend threw the ball too fast to have bumpers up according to the owner. Now if this man would have over and nicely asked that would have been fine. But this man just out of no where begins yelling at him. We wanted to respect him so he went and got the bumpers put down. Thinking we were fine to continue he bowled his next turn and once again the owner comes over and screams at all of us. He made it so that my 2 friends couldn't have bumpers but me and my other friend could. We came to just bowl and have a nice time and having the owner yelling at you and telling everyone around you how terrible you are was not fun. The people next to us were bowling the exact same speed and they were perfectly fine. The pro bowling league was also there and they were bowling at speeds that were way higher than the owners speed(he said that you should never bowl over 15 mph). After we left he threatened to call the cops on us and took my license plate number because we were "disrespecting an elder". This man has some serious issues and he needs help. read more

Me and my friends come here at least 4 times a week. It's something that's actually fun and something to do in Saint George. The workers there are very funny and nice. It is a very laid back place. The owner is super sarcastic but it only makes you want to get a better score so you can say I told you so. read more

Not a frequent bowler, but probably the worst I've been to. Outdated equipment, smelly restrooms, needs complete overhaul.

My experience at this business was absolutely great. John and CJ, we're customer service oriented, friendly, helpful, and made me feel important. I know next to nothing about bowling but this was way fun. I will go again and probably every other Tuesday. I noticed the reviews were fairly old. I can say my experience at this center did not relate to any negative review at Yelp. Fun place but probably won't ever go back. The owner/manager was a jerk. He freaked out over us throwing a smaller ball. I understand that he has rules and wants to keep his things nice. But he could have approached us a lot better and been more respectful to paying customers. There are a couple other bowling allies in St George now, you would think your customer service would be better than that! read more
