Me and a couple of caddies stopped by last week as we were in town for the golf tournament. The course had great views and the staff did an amazing job taking care of us. I really enjoyed this muni. The people working here were incredibly welcoming. The conditions could use some help but I know I'm playing a desert course in the summertime. Played the Woodbridge and Blackrock 9s. Woodbridge starts off with a bang. The first 4 holes are really cool. A meandering par 5, a tight par 4, an uphill short par 5 with trouble all around the small green, and a spectacular par 3 surrounded by water. The rest are solid but don't stand out after those. The Blackrock nine starts off with a straightforward hole but it gets interesting quickly with two par 5s in the holes. Both are gettable but have trouble lurking everywhere. Hole 2 is a dogleg right with a ditch about 40 yards short of the green and trouble all along the right side. A big tree on the right projects that second shot from getting close to the hole. Lots of options on that difficult second shot. Hole 4 almost has a buttonhook at the end. The green is completely blocked out by a small tree but it's very playable up the right side. Really cool feature. Then you go up the hill into the lava rock. Those holes reminded me of Hawaii. Just a great course overall. Lots of walkers in the cool morning in the desert. I'll try to do that next time. I hope to play it again soon. read more

100 degrees, hardly any any water stations on the golf course, refilled my water at the turn and tried to buy a Powerade and asked for a bag of ice for it too sit in until I wanted to drink it as there are no coolers on the carts. The old man in the snack bar wanted to charge me $2.50 for the bag of ice. I've played hundreds of rounds of golf all over the country, never once was I charged for ice. Unreal. read more

This is my favorite course in St George! I've golfed here many times with my young boys, and every time has been another core memory. Booking a tee time online is easy but before I did that, I called the pro shop to make sure my "Golf Groms" wouldn't be an issue. Anytime I golf with my little Groms, we usually grab the last tee time of the day since kids can be a little slow but no slower than some of these old guys haha In all seriousness, I think it's great Sunbrook is more welcoming to young golfers so long that they follow the course rules and are respectful of the game. (As we all should!)  Recently there was some confusion. I had called ahead and was told by the pro shop that my kids wouldn't be a problem. But when we got there, there was someone else working and he didn't know about the call and told me kids couldn't golf.... In the end, he let us play, and I'm grateful he did because we had such a great time and made real core memories together. I'm still not totally sure what their official policy is on kids golfing, but overall Sunbrook is a great golf destination and we plan to tee off there again soon! read more

Course has 3 distinct 9's. I was lucky enough to play all three in one day. This is a city course as you will soon discover. Greens are still recovering from the winter play. Fairways are sparse in grass in a few places. So, is it worth it? Absolutely! Enjoyed all three layouts. Staff is great, and you can't beat the price. I will play here next time I'm in town. Would like to see a marshal or players assistant keeping folks moving. In the end, I enjoyed the day and isn't that what it is all about? read more

Grass should be in better condition. Tee boxes are far from level. Pace of play is horrendous and Marshalls don't do anything. You get them to "talk" to the people holding you up. Comes back and said there are 2 holes open between them. They said they'll speed up. Nope still don't get to play through. read more

Not fun is all I can say. Cart path only, no markers on the tee boxes, no gps or coolers on the cart. Tee boxes aren't mowed down at all. Fairway grass is taller then the rough at this point. Took 2.5 hrs to play the front 9, on a muni. Starter met us around hole #6 and said he told the groups in front to pick up the pace, but still was super slow. Ended up stopping at 9 holes. Guess the ole saying, you get what you pay for is true around here. $50 round and not even sure that's worth it! Play at your own risk with this one. read more

great layout, overpriced for the shape it was in. run down and not well taken care of. tee boxes were patchy and what grass there was, was 4 inches tall. it's a $40 course if that's what your looking for. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. They booked at least 10 different groups in the matter of 30 minutes. If you like waiting in a line for a hole the whole game this is the place. Not to mention how rude the old man is at the front desk ! read more

I took us 8 hours to finish 9 holes. We were attacked by geese and a hare ran off with my ball. I got my ball stuck in a palm tree... overall it was a terrible round of golf. However, our play does not reflect how amazing this course is! Wildlife, great views, difficult holes, helpful staff, clean carts, great greens, water and clean bathrooms scattered throughout. Carl at the front desk was extremely helpful. Would play again 10 Update: marshal watched us the entire time. Frustrating and annoyed by how there were no rakes for the sand traps. These reviews were two weeks apart. Management must have changed but the point is still a beautiful course. read more

The course just reopened from overseeing. At check in we were told, cart path only. Pointe #1 was a sopping wet, muddy disaster! The rest of the first 9 holes were very wet & muddy. We quit after 9 holes due to poor conditions! The man in the pro shop gave us a 9 hole rain check without any trouble! The Huntsman games are there in 2 weeks, good luck with that! I will not play at this course until it is in better shape, which could be never! read more

Course was swampy. Tee boxes were dirt or not cut/trimmed. Fairways in many parts had dirt or dead spots and the grass was clumpy and thick in some parts on the fairway as well. Drove down from Ogden. I will not claim to be an amazing golfer, mostly half-decent, but did leave the course wanting. read more

That's right two stars. The place is absolute beautiful, and loved it. But... After nine holes the pro shop placed 4 senior ladies in front of my 3 some that I was playing with. Our round was totally done. Hole 10 took forever, and only got worse. I really don't know if the pro shop did this or the starter, but very unprofessional. Solid traditional golf course, well maintained, beautiful views, challenging but not too much so. It's on the pricey side, but average for green fees in the area. Has great summer season deals. Club house is clean and spacious, bathrooms large and well kept. Service is usually friendly and helpful. Woodbridge and The Pointe are my favorite to play, having the ups and downs, vistas with great views, and Woodbridge #4 is a fun island hole. My one issue here is that homes have been built all along the course, often tighly along fairways. That makes it hard for newbies and infrequent players who find it intimidating. I teach folks golf, so I've witnessed many a house plunked here. So far no real damage, but it can cause some anxiety. Besides that, this is one of my favorite courses in St. George. read more

Great golf course. Little pricey. Try and get onto Woodbridge. They don't like to let people request it but it is by far the best 9 on the course. Good uphill and down hill, shot onto an Island, and a quaint little wood bridge to go through. read more

This is my favorite place to take clients, friends and family. Reed and his staff are super friendly and helpful. I chair my employer's golf event and have worked with a number of courses in the St. George area and Sunbrook is the best. They are able to accommodate any size of group because of their 3 courses. I once had a question and Reed was willing to take the time from playing in a tournament to work it out with me. The whole staff is very responsive. As for the course... I love the challenge of Blackrock, it's not harder than the rest, you just have to play smarter than normal. My Brother likes the Point, there's room to really open up on your Driver if you are a long hitter. Woodbridge is most people's favorite; it has old growth cottonwood trees and a classic walk-in-the-park feel. All three have good green maintenance; all the greens are multi-tired and place a premium on your iron and wedge game. read more

One of my one my favorite, must play courses while in St George. Reasonable fees, we'll kept course, friendly/helpful staff and a challenging course (if you hit your ball in the black rock, please just forget about it because you just sent your ball through a blender). If you're planning on playing in St George, make sure this course is on your list - you won't regret it. read more
