This lodge has very friendly members and they were very welcoming to us when we arrived. We chose to take advantage of their RV camping spots for a week while we were in the area. The property is nestled in the hillside with the great views of the adjacent golf course flanked by red rock mountains. The location is off the beaten path which was perfect for our stay. They also had several events during our stay that we participated in with much fun.

Amazing view which changes every few minutes as the sun sets

Great lodge with awesome views. Very friendly to visiting members. Very large parking lot that accommodates many RVs, some with hookups.

This place has extensive facilities for residents and guests alike, with a resort like feel. Two years ago we had booked The Inn at Entrada, which is simply marvelous (more about this in my separate review on the Inn's page "The Inn at Entrada"). Unfortunately the entire golf course was going through a complete re-design and apparently was complete April 2022. We noticed there was a golf promotion going for September, and figured it would be a perfect opportunity to come back and relax, and for my husband to finally try out the golf course. Turns out the pro shop had a promotion running while they were doing repairs on the golf course and no one could book during that time. I'm kind of perplexed on why the pro shop would run a promotion when they weren't allowing anyone to book. We ended up having to completely switch around our vacation and book over a month later to be able to book any golf tee times. Even still, tee times were sparse - turns out they only have 4 tee times per day for non-residents and it's only mid day. Tee times are only for residents and guests of the Inn. Golf is closed on Mondays and you can't play the first day of your reservations at the Inn. I was hoping the worst was behind us.. unfortunately it was not. Good thing I called closer to our visit date, because they had changed the tee times around on us. I had to make 3 calls and one send e-mail to the pro shop to finally get a confirmation of times as they had never sent me the e-mail confirmation in the first place. On the first day of golf, the tee time was moved back 10 minutes, no big deal. They started my husband out with his own golf cart (I might add their tee times include a cart that you pay for as part of the price), only to tell him to hop in with another gentleman at the start of the game (and move all his gear over). My husband and the other gentleman were paired with complete golf novices, who were not prepared to keep pace with the game. The group ended up lagging so far behind because of the couple they were paired with (the novices), that the ranger came out to give them all grief. Unfortunately the ranger did nothing to assess why the issue was occurring, but rather it just made for a hostile environment. Pace of play is really fast, this is not a course a novice should attempt. Unfortunately even if you are a good player, you may most definitely be paired with someone who is not due to the lack of tee time availability. On the second day of golf my husband asked to play alone or at least with a separate cart to avoid the same situation that he had experienced the day before. Apparently Snow Canyon doesn't allow such things in spite of having what seemed like endless carts on standby. Seems kind of absurd to pay for a cart and have to share with a complete stranger. The other problem lies with how the course sets up tee times for non-residents, they put you mid day. There are no exceptions to this either, and the staff spent their time rushing everyone around so they aren't in the way of the residents. While I understand the residents are top priority, there's nothing worse than feeling like a second class citizen when they charge the same as every other course in the area. Also, having the staff spend more time ensuring guests are enjoying their stay would be helpful also, but that is clearly not the priority here. The course itself was in playable condition, but still appears to be under construction in spite of claiming construction was complete in April 2022. There are many holes with incomplete areas, landscaping that is still under construction, and really rough spots throughout the course. The best part of the course believe it or not is the practice area, which is extensive. The actual 18 hole game play left a lot to be desired and not only felt rushed, but the whole experience felt poorly organized. I now understand why everyone we speak to says Black Desert Resort has a better course. I truly cannot recommend Snow Canyon with all its faults at this time. I can only hope the golf course continues to work on improving the experience for guests, while continuing to balance their needs for the residents.

This is an unfortunate review I am having to leave. If you are looking to purchase a home in…read moreEntrada there are a few things you should know. It is gorgeous, nothing like it. Most of the neighbors are fantastic people. The surrounding neighborhoods are great and Black Desert is spectacular. BUT There is no voting that takes place the board of trustees vote and the owners must go along with what is voted on. There was an insane amount of money spent to redo the clubhouse, we didn't vote on that they did. There is a tiny gym you must pay monthly for whether you use it or not. The dues just went up, this was voted on by the board of trustees. We were told it included pickleball it does not you must pay extra. The gym should be an opt in. You must eat at the club house you have a certain amount of money you MUST spend or you pay anyways. The food is so bad you pay them not to eat there. You also must pay for their Christmas party. The board of trustees voted on this, it used to be an opt in but not anymore. One can only hope that Black Desert can take over and dismantle the Entrada board.

If golf is not your thing, they have cornhole and board games available. Each golf bay has your general selection of mens and womens golf clubs. The games are on the tv screen. We had a great time at a bachelorette. The food is HORRIBLE. We ordered everything from the pizza, to nachos, and burgers. The fries were soggy or stale. The chips and the fixings were also stale and the meat tasted off. We barely ate anything.

I'm used to the experience at their…read morecompetitor, where each ball has a chip inside of it, and every ball that you hit is counted by the system. At Crush, their system does not use chipped golf balls. They use a system of sensors that are frankly inefficient. We went here for a kid's party and the kids were getting so frustrated because more than half of the balls that they were hitting were not registering at all. We talked to the staff who said that the ball had to arc upwards several feet when it was hit or the system would not register the ball. Now, if you're a capable golfer, it's no problem. But for kids and beginner adults, it's a huge problem. No matter how much coaching you give a kid, they simply can't hit it upwards high enough to work (without being experienced). So we wasted 30+ minutes before even knowing what the problem was, and even after knowing the problem, it was an impossible situation. So the party was a huge bust and the kids were super disappointed. The games that are offered to play are also not nearly as fun as their competitors. The instructions were unclear, there weren't many to play, and of course, the kids couldn't score no matter how hard they tried. If you're a capable golfer, you'll probably have a decent time here. The staff were reasonably polite. The time starts when they call your name to go to your bay, not when you arrive at your bay, so we wasted 5+ minutes just walking and another 5 listening to instructions and entering our own names into the system. All around, it was not a good experience and I will never return.
