Divorce beach is through the "V" made up by the rock formations
Andrea V.

Located on the other side of Lover's Beach, the Pacific Ocean is a powerful force and swimming at Divorce Beach is strongly discouraged. However, it's worth the two minute walk over when visiting Lover's Beach. If you decide to sit on the sand near the water, use caution. The waves may be higher than you expect. When they hit you, they will send you spinning and steal your sunglasses off of your head, or at least they did mine!

Divorce beach is the opposite side of Lover's Beach! This is the Pacific Ocean side, and the waves are higher and stronger here! There are signs to discourage locals and tourists from swimming and getting close to the water because it can be dangerous! However, don't let it stop you from checking it out. We enjoyed Divorce Beach because it was less crowded and the breeze seemed cooler here too when we went!

Divorce beach is connected to lovers beach. It's a much more quiet beach compared to the small and crowded lovers beach. $20.00 usd, includes a taxi(boat) to tour el arco and the surrounding area, drops you off at the beach for a couple of hours and the taxi(boat) comes back to pick you up. *remember to get the name of your boat* There are a few vendors that sell drinks. It's best to take your own if you will be staying for a few hours.

El temperamental Océano Pacífico. Most steered clear of swimming attempts.

There are places in the world you should see... and then there are places you have to experience…read more One of those is Lover's Beach. Tucked right beside the famous El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, this little stretch of sand sits where the Pacific Ocean shakes hands with the Gulf of California. Boats can't always nose right up to shore, so sometimes they anchor out and well congratulations, you're swimming the rest of the way. Not exactly the plan when you're holding a drink and thinking about tacos. But there I was, staring at that water thinking, alright... here we go. First step in refreshing. Second step whoa, that's colder than advertised. But once you're in, you're in, and suddenly the whole thing turns into the kind of travel story you remember forever. And that's Cabo in a nutshell. Music drifting through the air, drinks flowing, tacos somewhere nearby, somebody laughing so hard the whole beach joins in. My wife was cracking up, people were singing, and the day just kept rolling like a perfect Baja postcard. Lovers Beach itself is only reachable by boat, which somehow makes it feel like a little secret tucked against those golden rock formations. You look around and think, yeah... this is the good stuff. So if you make it to Cabo, don't just look at it from the boat jump in, swim if you have to, and make the memory. Trust me... that's the story you'll still be telling later.

A Love Letter (with a Side of "No Gracias") to Cabo's Beach Vendors…read moreLook, I get it Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas is paradise, the sun is blazing, the margaritas are calling, and you're just trying to make a living in one of the most competitive tourist spots on Earth. But holy guacamole, the vendor parade feels like a non-stop flash mob sometimes! One minute you're finally zoning out with your spouse, pretending the real world doesn't exist, and the next, a cheerful guy with a tower of hats is standing over your towel like, "Amigo, you need this sombrero it's magic!" Spoiler: It's not magic; it's just very persistent. I've said "no gracias" so many times I started feeling like a broken record, and each polite rejection somehow makes me the bad guy who just crushed someone's dreams. It's exhausting, and it turns what should be pure relaxation into a game of vendor dodgeball. That said, here's the constructive part from someone who genuinely wants to support local folks (and might even splurge if the vibe is right): Let the beautiful handmade jewelry, the colorful sarongs, or those killer tamales do the talking! Imagine a chill setup like Hawaii's swap meets tables lined up, folks browsing at their own pace, no high-pressure sales pitch every 30 seconds. Vendors could hang back a bit, flash a friendly smile, and only engage when someone shows real interest. It'd give tourists breathing room to actually fall in love with the products instead of feeling cornered into a forced buy. The hardworking sellers deserve better than constant "no"s, and we visitors deserve a few uninterrupted minutes of beach zen. A little salesmanship class (or just some designated browsing zones) could turn those interactions from interruptions into delightful discoveries. Cabo's already got the magic let's not chase it away with too much hustle. ¡Salud to finding that perfect balance!

The weather was genuinely nice, warm but not overly hot, which made it comfortable to be outside for a while. That said, the experience was mixed. The waves were pretty strong, which could be due to the Pacific influence or the constant traffic from nearby boats. Not ideal if you're looking for calm water. The biggest downside was the nonstop vendors. My husband sat on a towel on the sand and was constantly approached to buy massages, blankets, jewelry, etc. It became overwhelming, and after about an hour he was clearly fed up. It made it hard to relax or enjoy the beach. What really left a bad impression, though, was seeing a very young puppy tied to a beach umbrella with no shade or water. I shaded her for a bit and brought her water. Eventually the owner came back, but it was pretty upsetting and felt unnecessarily cruel. Overall, Playa Médano has nice weather and a lively atmosphere, but between the aggressive vendors and what we witnessed, it wasn't as enjoyable or relaxing as we hoped.

While the food and service makes Tobasco's one of our favorite places, Teamo, a manager, was very rude and discourteous. Several other patrons said that they typically leave when he comes in the afternoon. There was an issue that was resolved by our waiter, Luis, for whom we are grateful. But we are left with a proverbial bad taste in our mouths by the hostile way in which Teamo treated us. It's very unfortunate for such a wonderful place, with delicious food and drinks and a perfect location on the beautiful beach. Hopefully, the owner will recognize the negative effect that Teamo presents to loyal customers like my friends and me, who return yearly almost every day of our trip, and appreciate the rest of the staff and all that Tobasco's offers otherwise.

We went to the bar and ordered bottled water, lemon-aid, Ginger ale, and some chips and guac. The cost was a little on the pricey side, but the drinks were well needed and the Guac was tasty. Service was friendly and super speedy. The seats and tables were comfortable. They also have restaurant seating on the beach as well. Recommended if you need to refuel from all the action on the beach.

Imagine this: An infinity…read morepool with a swim up cabana styled bar, TVs, pumping dance music, lounge cabanas on the quiet side if you wish not to rally, and a full view of the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort in all its majestic wonder. For years and years my favorite hangout spot at this resort was, but of course, the Main Pool. All the activities were there, it's an infinity, there's a swim up bar, and ocean views - What more could you want? But then they raised the bar (quite literally) and built what is basically all the goodness of the Main Pool on an upper decker level. So now not only is there a swim up bar, infinity style waterfall pool, and all that, but there's full wrap around breathtaking views of the whole resort AND magnificent sunsets that will have you feeling all kinds of good things. The wait staff up here are always on the ball, checking in on you for more food, drinks, napkins, etc. The towel crew is kind and while it may take a while for them to look through those horribly long paper lists and cross you off, they do it with a smile and as quick as their eyes will allow them. The lounge chairs are sturdy and cozy, but I'd definitely recommend laying a towel down before getting your tan on. There's an even amount of sun chairs versus shaded chairs at this pool, but the pools have very little shade areas while you are in them so be warned on that. The jacuzzi at the Sky Pool is the highest visiting point at this resort, I believe. While warm, bubbly and spacious you may also enjoy the seclusion from the rest of the pool areas and gorgeous tropical views of the palms and ocean. I tend to retreat up here when the pool gets too rowdy or crowded and I need a break from the crowds. All in all, Sky Pool is definitely a must visit if you're staying at the Sunset Beach Resort and/or even if you're at one of the other hotels in town.. Hop in a shuttle and hangout here for a day, but make sure to stay for sunset because the photo op is something you won't want to miss out on.

The cariñoso and attentive Alejandro, Miguel, and Juanio treated me like a queen from the moment I set foot, but over the course of several days, they were able to provide even more recommendations for a good time in and around Cabo. Maracyúya margarita is a must-have. Aguachile negro was fantastic. I also tried a bunch of their other food offerings once I established bar Sur as my home away from home. The No-Cesar salad was crispy, flavorful, unique, and fresh. The Sushi was mostly freshly caught local offerings (minus the salmon, which was still good quality) with a bright sunny presentation and freshly made to perfection. The burger and fries hit the spot on day 2 when I was feeling some type of way. The poke bowl hit the spot, once again featuring locallly caught fish and very yummy combo of veggies, rice, and fruits with a ponzu sauce on the side. Oh, did Ii mention the view and the chill party vibe with the live sax player on deck? No, I didn't. Go to bar Sur and see for yourself - it's impossible to have a bad time.
