This is a short but STRENUOUS hike that requires use of your hands to stabilize. You MUST bring water. It is gorgeous and worth it. Pace yourself. Take a break if you need it. Do not be fooled by other reviews, this could be treacherous if you are careless. Just be smart, listen to your body, drink water, and it's worth it.

Definitely worth the hype. It is not a hike for the week. Don't show up and flip flops. Definitely wear some hiking shoes. The guide is really good he talks a lot which makes the hike last longer. It's a slow and steady Pace till you get to a steep climb through the rocks. Hence no sandals there was several people in sandals that were cutting their feet and tripping. Once you get to the top it's amazing. We were able to see whales breaching and a beautiful sunrise. After we relaxed for about 30 minutes we started our descent down the mountain. Again it's not for sandals. Not as steep. You are climbing on private land. In the guy does guide you with his dogs he actually was talking about scaring away snakes and sure enough his dog scared a rattlesnake away. Don't be cheap give the guy a decent $5 or 100 peso tip. Don't show up empty-handed it's embarrassing.

CLIMB MOUNT SOLMAR in Cabo San Lucas for the best views of downtown Cabo, the Marina, Medano Beach, the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez, as well as the land's end. The landscape is simply stunning... breathtaking... awe-inspiring. To find the trailhead, continue down the Blvd Paseo de la Marina until you reach the Sector Naval de Cabo San Lucas. Across the street you will find a chain link fence with a gate to a kennel (yellowish building). The kennel and land for that matter are privately owned, therefore you should enter through this gate to avoid any problems with trespassing. You may or may not be greeted by Enrique who owns the land here. If the gate is unlocked, you may come across him on the trail walking his dogs. Once you get started, the trail is marked by bright orange ribbons (head right at the 2nd concrete platform to go up to the peak or straight to continue on to Lover's Beach). At a pretty steady pace, its 30 minutes or less to the top. Given the weather and landscape, be sure to bring lots of water with you. There is very little cover on the way up to the top (a few rocky areas provide respite from the sun). When you see the cross over the horizon, you know you are close! The views from the top are amazing. 360 degrees of the bluest water, colorful architecture, and boat activity. Be careful of cacti and sharp rocks. A must do! Leave a tip in the box for Enrique on your way in or out!

Omg amazing hike up. Enrique not only guided us up but also educated us on Cabo. Worth getting up early for the hike and view!

There are places in the world you should see... and then there are places you have to experience…read more One of those is Lover's Beach. Tucked right beside the famous El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, this little stretch of sand sits where the Pacific Ocean shakes hands with the Gulf of California. Boats can't always nose right up to shore, so sometimes they anchor out and well congratulations, you're swimming the rest of the way. Not exactly the plan when you're holding a drink and thinking about tacos. But there I was, staring at that water thinking, alright... here we go. First step in refreshing. Second step whoa, that's colder than advertised. But once you're in, you're in, and suddenly the whole thing turns into the kind of travel story you remember forever. And that's Cabo in a nutshell. Music drifting through the air, drinks flowing, tacos somewhere nearby, somebody laughing so hard the whole beach joins in. My wife was cracking up, people were singing, and the day just kept rolling like a perfect Baja postcard. Lovers Beach itself is only reachable by boat, which somehow makes it feel like a little secret tucked against those golden rock formations. You look around and think, yeah... this is the good stuff. So if you make it to Cabo, don't just look at it from the boat jump in, swim if you have to, and make the memory. Trust me... that's the story you'll still be telling later.

When I thought about beautiful beaches and Cabo and peaceful places to just hang out and chill and enjoy the water, Playa Santa Maria satisfied all those requirements and I can't wait to go back to this place. When you get there, it seems like almost like a resort or if you experience going to a really nice golf resort in the United States. During the weekday we were here and there was plenty of parking and we bought mangoes in the parking lot, which were really good. He did a excellent job cutting and prepping it out for us. You take the walk back and then you see the ocean and the beach and I was just in awe of how beautiful it was. This is pretty close to paradise. It was a big contrast from the Bajia Beach House we were at for the past couple of days where there are a lot of tourists, loud music, vendors, and just noise in general. This place is so serene and quiet and calm and yes, it is connected to a resort, but it was not overcrowded, no loud music, you could see a lot of the locals were here, and the beach area to swim was very large and vast. If I lived in Cabo, I would probably come here every weekend. The only downer was the sand consisted of very small pebbles so if your feet are sensitive, then I highly suggest water shoes or sandals - which I'm so glad I brought. I am so glad I got to experience this place, thanks to our local friend and temporary tour guide. If you're in Cabo looking for some nice peace and relaxation and a beautiful scene, you definitely need to come here.

Top notch experience for my 1st time spearfishing. Did the private reef trip to get 1 on 1…read moreteaching. Bonus that my wife got to snorkel while we hunted fish. Charles talked me through the basics at the shop, then we headed to the boat n took in the sights of the marina once on the water. Before we headed to our first spot we drove close to the famous arch for a pic. At the next stop Charles got me comfortable snorkeling n using the fins. Then he had me dive down pause then surface. Then graduated to diving with the gun unloaded pausing n holding gun as if to shoot then surfacing. Next real deal with loaded gun n took a shot at nothing. We headed back to the boat n went to another spot to find fish. Long story short, we hit 3 or 4 spots which were all beautiful in their own way. I got to dive n shoot many times. Eventually got good at the weight belt to stay at the bottom longer. I had probably 12 to 15 good shots at decent fish. But hurried most shots or was too far away. But I learned a ton for next time. And the last stop as we swam it looked like we were soaring over mountains underwater. It was amazing n my wife had a blast snorkeling the whole time. Can't thank my guide/teacher Charles enough for sharing his knowledge n teaching me skills and technique.

Kevin gave us a quick once over on what to do and what to look for and just like that we were off. What a blast. Fish everywhere. It took me a minute to figure out how to connect with the fish ok but once I did we were off to the races. I shot a nice sized Spanish mackeral and a couple of permit fish. So nice of a feeling to shoot those permit fish in the face after spending hours upon hours pursuing them with a fly rod with no success. We fished in a couple of different spots. Ruy kept the boat close by and was a great support to the process. Such an amazing experience being surrounded by thousands and thousands of sardines and then watching the predator fish dive bomb the bait ball while you are in the middle of it. Spear fishing Baja has great equipment, easy reservation system, conveniently located and super friendly. Give them a try next time you are in Cabo. If you have ever wanted to even try spear fishing it is worth it. Just do it!

Visited March 12-15, 2025. Took the gray whale journey for 3 nights and 4 days with Baja…read moreExpedition, specifically Nautilus (glamping tent which got a free upgrade). I enjoyed the humpback whale expedition which came with a free lunch and drinks. We saw a lot of action not terribly far from shore. They also offered a photo workshop. Believe this is more useful for folks that use a digital camera as opposed to a cell phone camera although she gave some tips on that as well. Both were complimentary (on March 11). There was nothing wrong with the trip per se but there are many parts that occurred to get you to where you end up finally. Everyone was nice but I feel like there is a drop in communication as there are too many parts of the wheel. The charter flight was about 2 and half hours so make sure you use the restroom. There is NO bathroom on board. Also for clothing, please make sure you are covered from head to toe. This is NO joke. The weather may seem hot as hades on shore except at night, prepare for windy freezing conditions (they provided a heater AND heating blankets). When you are on the panga and travelling fast, it will be windy and probably cold. However, when you are waiting for some action, you are under the sun in water. Do NOT wear shorts and bring a cover-up for your face as well. Caps/hats are all good ideas. They offered the gaiters and a wind breaker. I commend the luxury tent. This is really what you are paying for. The fact that you get your own porta-potty and running water was fantastic. The shower had more settings than my own shower. They also offer room service so if you don't want it, please let them know. The food was decent as well. Breakfast is buffet and there is a person who can make you an omelet and the lunch and dinner are plated. Honestly, unless you enjoy the feeling of a 5 star hotel, don't think it was necessary. You honestly don't have that much time to eat during this trip. The time is literally spent getting ready for and the whale excursions. There's a volleyball net, soccer goals & bikes for you but it was so windy and honestly not much time to do any of that. Happy Hour had a different "snack" each day (oyster one was awesome) but no alcohol is free except for the one you get when you get off the plane. The food and service was wonderful. Was every dish a 5? No, but you are in a place where they have to import everything. There is also a nightly 30 minute? presentation given by some of your tour leaders. This tour company had the furthest spot (closest to the airport) so you spend a good 30 minutes (travelling quite fast) to get to the area where the whales are (and don't forget the return trip). We saw plenty of whales but everyone is there to "touch" a whale. The last day there, all the boats in our area did manage to touch one and our boat collided with another panga. Luckily all, including the whale, were unharmed but needless to say, our panga did NOT touch one. It also sounded like the whales were not coming to that area as much anymore. In fact, some were spotted in Cabo. Pro Tips: You should ask they rotate the people on the boats so you're not always with the same captain or panga. If you don't mind sharing a central porta-potty, pick a tour company that is closer to the area where they gather. You will have more free time. Don't drink any diuretics before the panga rides as bathrooms are limited to nature (although some boats do have a bathroom). Pangas that are lower might be better because than when you reach over the boat, you're closer to the surface of the water and don't have to bend over as much. This is a desert area so keep that in mind when packing.

The weather is fairly moderate at that point. Chilly at night and warm during the day. But be prepared for the night time wind. Bring earplugs as the tents slap against the poles most of the night. Not Baja's fault as you can't control the weather. Also, food is decent but keep in mind this is a camp in the middle of a national park so it is not high end resort food. Very good considering the remoteness of the location. Also having your own en-suite bathroom was everything!! No cold walks to the bathroom during the night.
