The coaches at the Swift Sportsdome are amazing players, but have no interest in the explanation…read morepart of skills. Serving classes are the biggest issue, with coaches prioritizing bonding with each other instead of assisting. I myself did a season of club here and had a very poor experience. Not with my coach, but with the fall high-school classes. Bullying is never talked about and coaches will even talk negatively about the kids to other coaches and laugh in front of the players. I am saddened by the classic mean teen girl behavior not being addressed within the staff.

Now that my daughter is graduating and no longer playing volleyball I have decided to write a…read morereview as there can no longer be recourse against her. Yes, recourse. ( although I won't be surprised if they remove this and notice nobody else will review if their daughters are still playing ) It is very clear with all of the coaches coaching here and also at the majority of high schools (most of them except a few, one of which 2 of the coaches were fired from for bullying and discrimination) that there is a lot of bias if you already play at NNJ to make the high school teams, they mentally put their teams together for high school before tryouts so what is the point of the tryout. Which is also the same at NNJ for the travel team. The owners of this club are so overly involved with some of the parents that there is a true favoritism with the girls and therefore put on higher level teams. This also doesn't allow them to see true talent in many of the girls that should be playing at higher levels. It is also very evident that there are offerings to some girls to get more training in than others that are offered only the normal training. Girls here are not all treated equally. We have been involved with volleyball for years, in other states between my oldest daughters too and have never seen such a one sided club and a club that does not encourage team camaraderie, and respect between players on the same team or not. I think my biggest disappointment and where lack of trust came in was during COVID. We payed several thousand dollars to play around 10 tournaments and then all of the tournaments were canceled. NNJ did not offer a refund but instead kept our money, essentially we payed around $5000 for 5 tournaments. They tried to make it up by offering practice for the remainder, yet they had to close because of COVID outbreaks and smoke days and those days were never made up, After that we started another summer session ( another $2K) that guaranteed higher level team placements and video for recruitment. It never happened. They now have a no refund policy written into their contracts. It is my understanding that there were many girls that came from another club here in the Reno/Carson area and those girls were all put on higher level teams, initially parents thought that it was because NNJ made a deal with them to come over by putting them on higher teams but is it possible that those players were better trained by the other club? I certainly look back and wish we would have explored other clubs. Ask around, listen to what people say, comments are not positive.

They are visibly worn, damaged, they don't come clean even after wiping them down with the sanitation wipes. It's disappointing that under new ownership, something as basic as clean equipment hasn't been addressed. I've been to the downtown location and while those mats aren't perfect/new, they are noticeably cleaner and better maintained. I really hope this location can prioritize replacing these mats soon, as cleanliness is extremely important for a gym to prioritize. I can bring my own mat but the gym should still be providing clean ones for members!

Quality: I've never been there and seen a machine out of service or in need of repair…read more Machines with Screens: They have a great selection of treadmills and stair steppers that have a screen. These screens are awesome! You can create a profile for future logins. They allow you to watch content or watch a video of a trail or path as you run. There is also a place to wirelessly charge a phone, hold a drink, and even prop up an entire book to read (I've done this a few times and I highly recommend it). Machines That Focus on a Muscle Group: If there's a name for this category of machine, I just don't know it. They have 2 machines each of these kind of machines. Lock Rooms: Locker rooms have lockable lockers (bring a lock), showers, a dry sauna, and bathrooms. I've been very happy with the cleanliness here. I hear there's also a tanning booth but I haven't used them. Water: Water refill stations available. Other: I can see that they have areas for boxing - like punching bags - but I don't know much about it. I also see they have weight lifting machines aplenty but again my knowledge here is fuzzy at best. Overall I'm really pleased with this gym at this price point and it checks all the boxes for what I would like from my personal gym. Take advantage of the family deal! $10 for the memberships of immediate family members.

What a great wrestling club!…read more First off I have to say, this is totally amazing and totally free! Coach Klapp is not only the Reed High Wrestling Coach, he is also the honors biology teacher. He volunteers his time to train wrestlers, from beginners to advanced during off season wrestling. There are numerous assistant coaches and guest coaches that help out through the week. Coach Farh is also an amazing Coach that coaches the Sparks Highschool session on Thursday. I don't know a lot about him, but he is always on the mat with the kids pushing and drilling them. Last year my son wanted to quit wresting and this coach took the time with him encouraging him and making him feel very needed. My son didn't quit. Thanks to this coach. They take competing wrestlers all over the country. This is pretty awesome as many wrestlers have no money and can't afford the lessons. This helps Highschool students secure scholarships in wrestling for those that are college bound. If a student hasn't put thought into college, they will after spending time with these coaches. They encourage the kids to succeed in all aspects of life. If the kids can't afford to go to meets, the coaches try their best to help with fund raisers and secure donation. As you can see, what an amazing team that is there solely for the kids! Here is what the web site says: There are also practices for beginning/elementary girls available at Nevada Elite, Saturdays from 10am to 12pm. GBWC practices are free to all wrestlers with USA wrestling cards. We practice at Reed & Sparks, but are open to wrestlers from all areas. Our coaches recommend a two-day per week commitment as well as one competition a month. Though we welcome less-frequent drop-ins. We will coach some folkstyle, and will spend most of the season focused on Freestyle and Greco-Roman techniques. Mon-Wed 6:00 pm to 7:30-8:00 pm at Reed HS Thurs 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Sparks HS
