But, if I was looking for a 10 cent screw or bolt @ the big box store, they hound you to let them help, but when it came to a 1,000 dollar appliance they didn't even look up. The only other store besides Metro that wanted to help me find the right appliance was the place that repaired the appliances and resold them. The first one we bought from them went out just after the warranty expired. So off I went looking, and ended up at Metro again. I appreciate Robin's patience because we purchased the appliance after our third trip to the store. I appreciate the company for recognizing the military as well. I will buy from them again to round out more of our kitchen appliances.

Irritated but okay fine whatever we misunderstood. No big deal. After that week no stove. Called again and the lady said now it'll be on the 18th (today's the 4th when it was supposed to be delivered and the receipt says the delivery date is May 4, 2026) Terrible place to buy from, the workers don't know a single freaking thing. You'll pay for a stove and even though you need it because the old one isn't working you won't get one because they keep adding more time and it never gets delivered and they won't give you a refund so we can go somewhere else.

Their prices are realistic and low. I can't think of anywhere else you could go looking for a simple nightstand and find several acceptable possibilities ranging from $12 to $60. How cool is that? It might be dusty, but you can clean it for the money you save. Their delivery is affordable and the in-store staff will help when you need it. This is a very down home, local business and they're often willing to make trades as well! They sometimes have furniture that is barely used, showroom close-out stuff with little flaws (like a tear on the back of a perfect sofa). I'm a little picky and normally don't consider "soft" furnishings from secondhand stores but after so many great experiences there, I bought living room furniture from Kenny's and it's holding up really well. If you live in Joplin, definitely check out this place. They've moved a few times due to the 2011 tornado destroying their former location but are now at 1610 S Main.

Sandstone Gardens - We just missed the lunch crowd. It's a beautiful spot!

This is a review of the retail store only and not the bistro…read more We have often driven past Sandstone Gardens on our way to Missouri. We have never stopped. Lucky for me, it is open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning as I breezed through Joplin. It's a formidable looking fortress but just be brave and open up one of the massive brown doors. (Entrances aren't really labeled.) I ended up entering through the bistro area. The home decor and kitchen items are maybe a bit pricey but not outrageous. The concrete sculptures (which they make on site) are fantastic. If you want to purchase one, just take a pic of it and they will secure one for you at the check out area. There's also baskets by the check out that you can place all your wares in and no one else can shop through them. But back to the sculptures...they are pretty reasonable and of good quality. If you buy one, you must drive to the back of the property where they make them to pick them up. This would be a five star review (for the retail store) if they had been a bit friendlier and helpful. Maybe we will have time for lunch sometime and up this to five!

Really great food, wonderful deserts and the shopping experience is great. But call ahead and…read morereserve a table. The wait can be hours on weekends. Hers my only really complaint. We did show up on a recent Saturday when they were packed and were told the wait was about 45 minutes. Well that was okay because there is so much to see and do shopping there. I love this place and can always find things I wish we had in our house. Interior decorators and people who like interesting decoration things for both inside and outside the home should have a good time exploring this decorating wonderland. However, we came back multiple times after one hour (remember they said 45 min). and were repeatedly told we were next. About two hours after we arrived were were finally seated. I balme the customers a bit, there were many tables with people hanging ut waiting mostly for wife to finish shopping. So basically people would come in for lunch, hand out with family and friends and time up a table for hours. Long after they are done eating they continue to sit there and wait while some of the group goes out to shop. I find thse really rude and surprised that the owners don't suggest to people that they hand out elsewhere. Like the many places to sit outside. I get that it puts the owners in a difficult situation because they want to sell decorator stuff. However, they really need to figure this out and find some way to move people off the tables and hanging out somewhere else. Once seated the food was generally good but we didn't have the best waiter the last time we came in. Constantly forgetting things bringing out things wrong, not refilling water, forgetting table setting after asking several times, etc. Although we will come back as everything is good I won't bring a group, just my wife and I and I will not come without planning on loosing half a day waiting for a table, then service. All in were were there four hours! When we really dropped in for lunch.

But for the regular stuff the prices are fair and the staff here always seem to be on the ball, hustling but not racing, they have time to help and they all seem happy to do so. Often many of them don't know anything about the how-to of things. Don't bother asking something like if this carrier bolt stronger than that one, which gague wire is right for a specifi project, or why a screw has a steeper twist and rotation. They don't seem to know. But they do want to help and they do know what they do have on hand most of the time. Occasionally we will come across someone who is passionate about the department they work in. I would give them four stars however they often mis the mark on services. Like having tiles installed, siding, or an applaince. The contractors are all subcontractors and not Lowe's employees. Sometimes this ties thier hands form doing a better job beacues they have to confomr to Lowe's rules. Other times the store struggles to get the dates right or offer services they don't even sell and you don't learn about it until no one shows up for a job and you have to chase them down. This has happened to us several times on projects often wasting days or weeks.

Like the glass doors that came in without glass and then we found out our style of cabinets didn't even have glass doors that size, and that is just one example of many. Other people at Lowe's reluctantly took time out of their busy day to deal with the issues once we forced it. Not blaming the person that started the process, although they made mistakes and omitted information. I'm blaming the company for not having a system to follow through with my purchase.

I brought them back their own sealed pouch that they had sold them to me in which showed the count as 16 along with my register receipt. The young lady at the register, who is awesome btw, handed them to an associate, who was also terrific, to take them down to hardware to be counted. He then opened the sealed bag and heads downstairs. Apparently the guy in hardware, big, middle aged guy who's always there, didn't count them but dumps them back into the bin. So when the cashier calls down to confirm the count he hesitates a bit and replies "around seven". So we go back and forth with rude hardware guy basically calling me a liar. Now these weren't cheap screws at $1.19 each so I wouldn't let it go. I said either you have no idea how many were in your bag you just dumped out or you screwed me on the count when I bought them! Finally an older gentleman said to refund my money and then proceeded to tell me in the future when returning an item to go directly to hardware and watch them count. I replied that won't be necessary, there won't be a next time. You lost my business for good and I suggest you work with big boy on his customer service skills, or send him packing.
