It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!

It is a down to Earth take on fancy antique stores, where most items have a real story behind them and are authentic, true antique pieces. Because of this you may get sticker shock at times but it's worthwhile. These people clearly know their merchandise and I would feel confident making even a larger purchase here. There's a fairly wide selection of items in here, about what you'd expect for an antique mall of this size. While other antique malls in the area have a larger selection, this one was still fun to browse through. It wasn't overly cluttered, though there wasn't much that I felt like I REALLY needed to take home with me. Not junk necessarily, but nothing that would improve my home or my life majorly. I also found that a lot of the booths were a bit overpriced? This seems to be a problem in the Joplin area specifically, as antique malls in other nearby cities (Springfield, Kansas City, Branson, etc) all seem to have lower prices on average than what you can find in JOMO. Still, there are some hidden treasures if you're willing to look! - I particularly enjoyed the booth close to the front with all the Pokemon cards. They'll make great stocking stuffers when the holidays come around :) - The booth on the left side with handmade ceramics was also awesome! Very reasonably priced and unique, interesting work. They were in the middle of their big Grand Opening and had free treats (can't beat that) but I think this is a nice, clean place to shop for funky vintage items and "real" antiques. It was already pretty full (including a large furniture selection to the right upon entering) but I got the vibe that they're still filling the store with vendors so it will probably be even better on my next visit.

It has had a couple different names, but always the same great service and fun items to look at. You can spend hours in here looking at all the goodies. I have no idea how they check to make sure everyone is out of the building at the end of the day. There were lots of flea markety items, used clothing, collectibles, tools, furniture and more. I would budget at least two hours or more to see the whole place.
