The entire team helped create a wonderful and pleasant atmosphere. The exam was thorough, which I loved. Intraorals and bite wings were taken. Happy I found Dr. Clancy. Danielle did my deep cleaning and was excellent. Everyone here is highly highly professional. Standards here are as elevated as you can get. My gums are magically pink after years of redness in some areas. I don't think my teeth have ever been this clean. Dr Clancy was a pleasant surprise in his ability to quell my anxiety with procedures, , which has been an issue for me in the past. This dental practice was sold off a couple of years ago. Dr. Lentine retired and his assistant took over Dr. Clancy. The prices went up, the policies all became tight and everyone in my family needs a deep scaling with $2500-$3000. Me family split up and went to three different dentist in Stoneham, Lexington and Medford. Guess what? Nobody now needs a deep scaling. The deep cleaning is nice and good preventative care, but really not needed. As you know medical procedures are best when they are preventative, but be careful about what you really need! Dr. Lentine was very good with people before. You called in sick even the morning of the appointment with a stomach flu and his staff would understand, but not with the new staff. They charge you $100 for a missed appointment. There is just no compassion here for their customers. I would say one thing positive and that Dr. Clancy's work seems to be of high quality and he did work closely with Dr. Lentine for a few years. But I think you need to be very careful about what you are getting for services and question everything. Also, read all of their policies and penalties and follow them precisely. There really are no exceptions. read more

Be very careful if you are cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. When they say 24 hours they are not joking. I had a wicked cold and sore throat so I called the day before my appointment to postpone it. Obviously it was under 24 hours notice (probably 22 hours) so I got whacked with a $100 fee. NOT negotiable. If they had told me that when I called to cancel I would've kept the appointment and shared my germs with them . So much for care and consideration for their patients. read more

Sorry - this place has never been the same since the original Dentist Dr. Lentini left. The office staff is rude - not pleasant. There is no parking - its a congested street. I put up with the parking situation only because I really liked Dr. Lentini. There is no reason to to put up with the parking now especially since the office staff is just plain rude - not welcoming. Been coming here for years, and I've always liked Drs. Lentine and Clancy and the hygienists. Unfortunately, the last time I came for an appointment I was turned away because I was 5 minutes late and had not filled out my paperwork. I asked if I could turn in the paperwork after the office visit, but that wasn't an option. I would have been less upset if it hadn't been snowing like crazy out and if I had been prepared to deal with the newly-installed parking meters in Medford Square which made me late. Most businesses would have understood and sympathized. I've been hesitant to reschedule, and put it off for months. I was hoping it was an "off" day for the receptionist...Reading today that others have experienced less-than-professional service from the office staff, I'm ready to reschedule my check-up elsewhere. I had the worst costumer services experience today (Feb 2. 2017) at Dr. Ryan M. Clancy, DMD on 80 High St, in Medford. This was so unfortunate and completely avoidable because the service and staff are normally great and accommodating, hence why I have been a patient for 15+years, I started out with Dr. Lentini. I had a dental appt. at 8am, and due to heavy traffic and parking issues on high street, I made it to the appt at 8:13am. Only to be told that because I arrived 3 minutes later than the allowed grace-period of 10 minutes per office policy, they would need to reschedule. I was upset because the waiting area was empty and I took time off for this appt., I've had to wait 15+minutes past my scheduled appt. before due to unforeseen circumstances. The hygienist normally inform me that they are running behind schedule, and it's usually for a short period. This is one of the main reason why I was most upset, I've had to wait for service and yet this was not reciprocal. Ok, that's fine, I was the one late and so I agreed to call in to reschedule. To add insult to injury, I received a bill for canceling my appt. I called to speak with someone (office/billing manager) about the fee, she was very condescending, and told me that I missed my appt, I clarified that I was late. I asked to speak with someone else to resolve the matter and/or process a dispute claim, she said and told me that there was no one else to speak to, and she represents Dr. Clancy view and there's nothing else to do, but to pay. This was by far the poorest experience I've encountered in a long time by someone in a frontline customer service oriented role. The fee aside, the exchange on the matter was disrespectful and vile, completely unhelpful. This experience was a complete disservice to the office of Dr. Clancy. The actual dentistry service is great, but the customer service, particularly today was deplorable. read more

I was a patient at this practice for over 20 years and never left the office without paying cash. Now that Dr. Clancy took over they told me they would not treat me unless my credit card was on file. "Just in case" I didn't pay! Also, I was told I would have to pay for my procedure a week in advance!! After being insulted like this, I found another dentist in Winchester. He charged me $2,000 less than Dr. Clancy quoted me! His prices are ridiculous! Will never go back. read more

I think it is important that I share my story. I first went to Dr. Clancy for chronic neck pain and headaches that I had for a year at the time. Dr. Clancy and his team believed that my headaches were a result of a bad bite. Dr. Clancy believed that splint therapy was the solution. For months, I visited weekly for TENS therapy and splint adjustments in search of relief. However, my symptoms persisted. At 26 years old, I was in a dark place as my condition was not improving. The physical symptoms were constant, but even worse, my mental state of being, staying positive and hopeful was where the real challenge was. I don't believe Dr. Clancy intentionally tried to screw me. But my family wasted a lot of money on a treatment that was incorrectly applied. After countless visits from Brighton to Medford, and thousands of dollars, I still remained about 50 percent with headaches everyday and muscle tension in my jaw, neck, and back. I don't have a bad thing to say about Dr. Clancy or his team. They were genuine, flexible, and caring. But I urge you to reconsider other treatments and other options before committing thousands of dollars. Part of me is resentful for the fact that other options/treatments were not discussed or brought up. Instead, my condition was further treated with a method that was not producing results. I am currently seeing a chiropractor, and have jumped to 90 percent. After receiving an X ray of my spine, it was clear that there was significant misalignment causing improper nerve functioning throughout my neck. The neck impacts the jaw and the head thus leading to the tension and headaches. With spinal adjustments, manipulation, and exercises, I am starting to feel better than I ever have. The issue had nothing to do with my bite. I knew nothing about this two years ago, and in desperate search for answers committed to Dr. Clancy's office and splint therapy. Not to say that this isn't the treatment for you, but weigh all your options if you have similar symptoms. Get an opinion from a chiropractor. Get an X Ray to see what is going on before making the mistake that I did. read more

Another 5 stars! Making the decision to have an implant is not easy. They are expensive and invasive. Sometimes though, it's the way to go. This visit had me seeing Dr. Martins for the implant. She is the dental surgeon on-staff at CED and, just like every other person encountered with this practice, she was awesome! I started off with Vici for impressions.She does a great job with talking you through and getting it done with humor. Next stop, Kat, who explained the procedure and made sure I was comfortable. Enter, Dr. Martins to do the hard work. As usual, everyone was super friendly and accommodating. My comfort and satisfaction was number one in their book. Every few minutes through the procedure I would hear, "doing ok?" or "everything ok?". (I think I actually dozed off at one point). Unfortunately, the full implant couldn't be completed due to problems with my mouth. Dr. Martins gave me a good base (bone grafts) to accept the implant in the future. Do I mind going back? Not at all. Visiting the team at Dr. Clancy's is like visiting my family. Everyone knows me, they care about me and they care about my comfort and oral health. Hey! Sometimes they're better than family! ; ) Quality care and an awesome staff will always keep me going back. read more

My family were patients of Dr. Lentine for a number of years. Dr. Clancy took over the business from Dr. Lentine and it's been downhill ever since. The most recent is when my wife had to postpone an appointment due to her being violently ill the night before her scheduled appt. My wife contacted Dr. Clancy's office first thing in the morning to advise staff of her illness and she could not make her mid-afternoon appt. My wife was taken back by the receptionists demeaning attitude "well that's why our hygenists wear masks and eye protection" . Subsequently we have not returned to this practice. 1 year later I receive a $58.00 cancellation fee for the appointment a year earlier. Several phone calls to his office requesting to speak with Clancy as well as e-mails requesting the same were never returned. Great customer service ! It is May 2016 after a month of no response from Clancy, I receive a call from a collection agency demanding a payment of $87.00 for Dr. Clancy. It''s a great way to treat customers who have been loyal to your practice for several years. Keep up your great customer service practices and I'm sure you will see many more customers looking elsewhere for a more professional and customer friendly dental practice. read more

My husband and I were patients of Dr Lentini, but since his departure the office has gone downhill. I was ill with the stomach flu and had tried to reschedule my appointment and the receptionist told me "the hygienist wear gloves and masks so it is up to you if you want to come in. If you do not you will be charged a $58 late fee". I could not believe the poor service from Dr. Clancys staff. I tried reaching out to him to speak with him directly several times, but received no response. We took our business elsewhere. I would NEVER recommend this dentist office to anyone! read more

I'm not usually the type to write a negative review, but I have been so upset by this particular experience that I am going to share it in hopes to deter others from encountering a similar experience from Dr. Clancy's office and staff. I've read more and more negative reviews on various websites for this dental office that I'm no longer surprised I received such negative treatment from staff. This started when I received an email around Thanksgiving saying I had a dental appointment coming up, which I never scheduled for myself, and I wanted to cancel that appointment until a time that was more convenient for me. It actually was stated to me while speaking with staff on the phone that a dental assistant scheduled it in for me. Of course, this was a week later prior to my scheduled appointment that I spoke with staff because I didn't have an opportunity to immediately reach the office staff due to holiday hours, the long weekend, and receiving this email too late in the week. I have been able to cancel appointments a day ahead of time as long as I've been a patient here, which is several years now. The phone call made to staff was extremely frustrating because the receptionist Vicky was rude right from "hello." I explained that I hadn't made this appointment for myself in the first place, wanted to reschedule the appointment, and was unable to do so via their website (it automatically confirmed my appointment as opposed to allowing me to confirm or cancel my appointment like the email stated I would be able to do on the website.) Instead of moving forward with canceling or rescheduling my appointment, the receptionist argued with me that I was lying and probably forgot that I scheduled this appointment the last time I was in the office and didn't want to admit it and that no one else had this problem with the website. This went on for several minutes before I was able to state that I just wanted to cancel the appointment without discussing it any longer because I was pressed for time. She told me I would have to pay a fee because even though I called a day ahead of time, it wasn't exactly 24 hours ahead of time so it didn't count. My appointment time would have been 11 am the next day, and I was calling at 1 pm the day before. The difference of a couple of hours meant I would be required to pay $47. I insisted that I would've called earlier if the office hours weren't cut short because of the holiday, the weekend, or most importantly, because I'm a nurse and I work an inconsistent schedule of rotating shifts and had been working nights. I wasn't awake at 11 am that day because I had worked 3 night shifts in a row and was sleeping at 11 am. She wouldn't honor that request for me or allow me to speak to her supervisor because "she was busy and won't be returning your phone call until tomorrow. We'll be charging you now." I told her I wouldn't allow her to authorize the charge until I was able to talk to someone and dispute it. My fear was that I would be charged regardless because this office has my credit card on file since I became a patient there several years ago. I never received a charge to my credit card or a bill in the mail, so I thought perhaps they were being understanding of my situation, especially after being a patient there for several years. I just got a phone call today from a debt collector who threatened that if I didn't pay TWICE the amount of the original bill, I would be taken to court by the dentist office. Wow! Some professional business right there, huh? I've never in my life had such a negative experience with rude staff who didn't want to be understanding. What baffles me more is seeing responses from Dr. Clancy himself that say they honor cancellation requests UP TO 24 HOURS AHEAD OF TIME. That was not the case for me, however. I will be taking my business elsewhere and deterring as many future clients from Dr. Clancy's office as possible. read more
