Re-squaring and spacing the hangers and getting in the way while we were actively trying to look through the shirts for a family member who was visiting from the mainland. She acted like we were a bother when we were trying to look through the shirts. She even rudely asked do you even know where that is (Mākaha/Wai'anae/Ma'ili/Nanakuli)? We left without buying anything. Told her - Yes, auntie of course, we live right up the road. SMH - customer service fail. It's sad because uncle Derrick had a really nice place; my daughters used to get all their supplies here for surfing and bodyboarding, they did jr lifeguards every year, various meets, the Grom, etc. I also asked some friends about our recent experiences there and several of them said that they have had similar experiences there recently. She talks down to people and acts like customers are an inconvenience. I think this auntie is probably his family member since he doesn't seem to be able to correct her, it's at least the third or fourth time she's been rude and dismissive to us. This is the third strike. Who knows, maybe she just doesn't like the way we look!?! The last time we told uncle Derrick about the way she talked to us before we left, it doesn't seem to have made an impact. We probably won't be back again.

From my very first meeting with Leslie, I could tell she was experienced and professional, which put me at ease. She is also very kind, and listened to my preferences and what kind of look I was going for. I went to Leslie's house a few days before my wedding for a trial run with my hair and makeup. My mom also wanted a trial run with her makeup, and Leslie did an amazing job with both of us. I told Leslie I wanted a dramatic smoky eye look with fake eyelashes, and she knew exactly what to do. My mom loved her makeup too, because Leslie was able to make her eyes look bigger, which normally squint when she smiles. My mom raves about Leslie's work to this day, that it was the best makeup she has ever had! The day of the wedding, Leslie arrived to the house promptly and ready to go! She was calm and cheerful, and did hair and makeup for myself, my mom, and my 3 bridesmaids with ease. She stayed around while our photographer was taking pictures of me, touching up my lipstick and making sure everything was perfect. She helped me feel relaxed and confident, and even added some last minute orchids to my hair which was the perfect touch! My hair and makeup stayed in place all day and night--it looked great in all the pictures even after sweating on the dance floor! Mahalo Leslie for your amazing work!!! If you're planning a wedding in Hawaii, La Bella Wedding is the place to contact!! Before connecting with Jennifer, I reached out to a few other well known wedding planners in Honolulu. Out of everyone I talked to, I liked Jennifer the best. She was a great listener and catered to all my needs. She wasn't pushy like some other planners I talked to, which I really liked. La Bella Wedding also offers many package deals to choose from, depending on your needs. I wanted a small/intimate wedding but did not have a strong vision in terms of colors/themes. We were in communication over text and she helped me choose and prepare everything I needed up until my wedding day. I was also quite budget conscious and she was very understanding. When I first met her in person (the day I landed), a day before my wedding, I immediately knew I was in good hands. She's extremely professional and has tons of experience. I had rented a veil that did not look good with my dress and she was able to quickly swap something out for me that she had at her shop. My dress was also too big when I got there and she was able to help me with that :) La Bella Wedding has tons of wedding dress options at their shop, which is really convenient if you're looking to rent something. Prices are also extremely affordable and was a fraction of what I paid to rent in LA. Jennifer has a great attitude and it was such a pleasure hiring her as my wedding planner. I have no regrets and highly recommend her and her team. While it was super hectic on the day of my wedding, her team kept me in check and made sure everything turned out the way I wanted things to be. I was so pleased with her services that I even tipped her a little extra after the wedding, that's how good she is! Hiring La Bella Wedding was worth every penny!

The space looks shiny and clean, the wood floors gleaming. We had dinner at Garden Island Grille next door tonight and spent a few minutes beforehand exploring Koloa Trading Post. It was notable for its interesting and appealing merchandise and the absolute unfriendliness of the young woman who was working there tonight. Alan and I wandered through for 5 or 10 minutes looking over the merchandise. We were not acknowledged, nor were any of the other customers who wandered through, as far as I could tell. There are hats and aloha shirts, interesting decorative and functional ceramics, funny socks and oven mitts w/ funny and vulgar sayings.. There are t-shirts and jewelry and other items. We left and went next door to put our name in at the restaurant. The wait was about 30 minutes. Alan saw an attractive long sleeve t-shirt in the interior window facing the hallway to the restaurant. Because he liked it we went back. I thought it was for him, but it was a woman's style and he was thinking it would be for me. I liked it and decided to buy it. He gave me his credit card and I took the shirt to the front desk where the young woman had been helping another customer, who seemed to be making a return. I handed her the shirt and she asked if that was all I wanted. Yes. She rang me up, folded the shirt carelessly and put it in the smallest bag possible. Whoever owns this store has nice taste in merchandise, but needs to hire staff who are more outgoing and helpful. I'm not particularly demanding, but I do expect to be acknowledged when I'm in a store. The 4 stars are for the merchandise.
