Susan and Rachel are always eager to help in anyway they can, and have been instrumental in helping me choose gear. When I first walked in, very unfamiliar and new to diving, they made me feel welcomed, not becuase they wanted my money and were trying to make a sale, but they honestly want to be a part of making me a more successful diver. I started my diver journey in 2014. I shopped different dive shops to begin my open water cert. Certain shop prices were exorbitant requiring you buy top of the line gear and expensive dive trips. Diver's Supply is a family owned down to earth shop. Good balance of great service and low cost. Their dive trips are in the hundreds of dollars not thousands. They are a bit sleepy, but friendly and remember their returned customers. They do have high turn over but the culture remains great. I've gone to other shops but always return to Diver's Supply. If you want to check out gear or just refresh your dive experience, they are pretty liberal on letting you used their pool--though the pool cover is tattered and falling to pieces. Susan immediately came to the door and greeted me. From there we began looking for the best BCD for me. I tried on a couple, then she had an idea. There was a Zeagle, that could be reconfigured to custom fit. She the shoulder part off and put a smaller one on and it made a big difference. After a second opinion, we exchanged it for an even smaller one. This ability was extremely nice as to get the perfect fitted BCD took my BCD in for regular service, only to get a call that the bladder was trashed, and the second stage was so old, that i wasn't in the 2011 catalog at all. An absolutely great experience. Their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful while selecting our gear. They also didn't try to up sell us like most places do. We are a family of 5, so this is definitely not an inexpensive venture. I really appreciate how Willy James and Jack Schmidt helped us find the most affordable options. If you buy anything online, be prepared to keep it no matter what. I bought a $60.00 snorkeling set, and the swim fins were way to big. I have 10 1/2 EE shoe size, but the large size fins were so big they couldn't stay on my feet in use. The heel straps were not tight even when on the shortest setting. To return them I would have to pay return shipping ($42.00) plus they would charge me handling fees, whatever they decided those would be. I was also supposed to return the warrantee card, which were not included in the shipment. (Not sure this applied to my purchase.) Since I would only get a small fraction of the purchase price back, I had to keep them and give them to friends. Waste of money to buy anything on line. The sizes are a real crap shoot and the return policy is not reasonable for an e-commerce site. read more

The positive first - I used Divers Supply to certify my daughter age 10 and her friend age 13 for basic open water. I was very happy with the instructor Bobby Smallwood. He had the patience to make sure each child knew the course content and could do the skills proficiently. It was obvious talking with Bobby that he was passionate about teaching scuba to others. The negative - DIver Supply is an aggressive retail sales business. When I dropped off my four reg sets for routine service. The tech informed me that parts would not be available for one set and that he actually said we "take trade ins" so I could get a brand new set (there). Unfortunately I had done my research and I knew the parts were commercially available. Next he asked me when I needed the regs. I told him two weeks and he told me how busy they were. When I told him the website listed seven business days as their standard turn around then he hesitantly agreed. I also experienced a heavy pressure up sale for my ten year old to do private classes. However my ten year is very smart and she is the fifth person in my household to be certified, so we declined the private classes knowing that we could review the the material with her. Long story short, we declined and she passed the course without incident. After this experience I went home yelped Divers Supply and saw two other negative reviews. I immediately called the manager and related my fears. The manager Brandon called me back in a timely manner and got the equipment serviced early. However had I not known my own equipment and the companies own policies, I would have purchased an unneeded new regulator and paid to expedite my annual service on the other three. Please do your due diligence when dealing with this company. There are positives, we experienced a great instructor, convenient class schedules, and a central location. Yet the high pressure sales and perception of impropriety earned it only a meh rating. read more

I will start off by saying that Divers Supply had a great variety of BCDs, and a number of dive computers. I was referred to divers supply by family friends, so my girlfriend and I decided to go to the shop to purchase dive computers to use on our upcoming dive trip. After waiting for 5-10 minutes, all while looking at BCDs and dive computers, we had yet to be addressed by any of the staff. Two employees were consumed with the actual sale of a bcd, and another was fitting a younger girl for a bcd. Ultimately, we decided to leave the shop. I am of the belief that if a store's employees cannot take the time to say "hello," then that's not where I should spend my money. Off to Seaventures! read more

As a beginner SCUBA diver, I went to Diver's Supply for my "start up" gear--fins, snorkel, mask, and booties. I had many questions and needed lots of information in order to figure everything out, and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. After a brief instruction on each piece of gear, including what to look for and how the piece should fit, I was left to discover on my own as the shop was crowded on this Sunday. I thought I might be forgotten about, but the shop assistant checked in on me regularly between customers. Once I had my gear accumulated, the shop assistant went through each piece and made sure the fit was right--he even moved me into a different pair of fins than I'd chosen based on information I gave him about a previous ankle injury. The shop was clean and organized, and provided a depth of gear choices. Diver's Supply has an online store, and the staff made it clear that should I want something that wasn't in stock, they would order it and have it for me the following week. The store makes regular diving trips around the Southeast. I feel like the group at Diver's Supply Marietta would be fun, knowledgeable and helpful to travel with! read more

We were referred to Divers Supply Marietta by a friend who was thrilled with the PADI certification they got here. We signed up and everything went according to plan. The classes were great, the instructor was awesome, the equipment was good and the added benefit is the pool is on site and HEATED! We completed our check out dives with 2 awesome dive masters and all was good. We purchased ALL of our equipment from them and just loved all of the staff. Then something changed. Not sure what but it was not good. All the staff we loved were booted - just fired. Completely new staff. After several dives, we took our equipment in the be serviced. Right before every one brought theirs in before season started. I was told 2 weeks. I was also told that our regulators were going to be double the price for service because ATOMIC thinks too much of their regulators. Really? You sold them to me. I said we were not buying new regulators because we liked ours just fine. Two weeks - no call Three weeks - no call - I called them on a Monday - they said they would be ready Wednesday. Wednesday - go in and they are "just finishing up the last one" (there are only 2). They bring them out and proceed to tell me they did NOT change the batteries in our computers because they are showing full charges. Really? Isn't that part of "service" every two years? 1st dive after service - BOTH computers have flashing batteries. Thank goodness we have dive watches also! Remember, always good to have a back up!! Return to dive shop after the trip - they give me flack about not needing it etc - I show it to them - they are replacing batteries - say it will be ready in 3 days 2 weeks later I receive a call they are ready - go in to get them and lo and behold, they are charging me service! After a bit of a go round, they did remove my service fee and only charged for the battery. I will say I was having a problem with my boots and they did replace them with another pair for an equal exchange. Now, throughout this whole process, they are telling me that not only do I need new regulators, but that I also need new computers. Why would they sell me products two years ago and then say they are no good products now? Well - turns out they are no longer dealers for these products. There is the REAL reason! Me thinks we will be finding a new shop! read more

They let students use top-of-the-line gear in the training pool, and took as much time with me as needed to ensure I am confident about diving knowledge and procedure. Every aspect of our experience with Divers Supply Marietta was great. From signing up for our open water certification, to putting together some basic equipment, to doing our certification dives, everything was fantastic. We opted for private lessons and our instructor John was super. Very thorough and helpful. We choose the Blue Grotto and Rainbow River trip for our certification dives and our instructors there - the 2 Kims - were fantastic. We didn't love the Blue Grotto because it was so busy and a bit crowded, but the Rainbow River dive was an absolute blast! Kim and Kim did a great job working with each of the students to address their particular needs and made the whole experience a fun way to work on our skills. As for the dive shop staff in Marietta, everyone we worked with was great. Jerry did a great job helping us out with picking the right wet suit and gear and Chris was so helpful with the logistics of our certification dive trip. They all made the whole experience fun! We went through Divers Supply to get scuba certified for our honeymoon. We could not have asked for a better experience or instructors. My husband loves scuba diving so I wanted to get certified so that we could enjoy it together. I was extremely nervous about the whole experience. I only recommend this place if you need your equipment serviced they do a good job at that but don't let them sell you on anything else they are crooks . My husband purchased a new bc and private swimming and diving lessons then they changed management and would not honor the lessons so about $1000 later we are stuck with equipment he can not use unless we agree to spend more money to add more lessons and when asked for a refund we where told no. The employees and management would not even try to work with the situation or call us back. The staff there will pretty much tell you what you want to hear and promise you things just to make a sale they dont give a cap about the honesty or integrity of the sport. I have been diving for years and I have never been to a dive store this dishonest and dealt with staff pushy to make a buck. read more

Very nice Atlanta location of a family owned group of dive shops. They have the most economical option to become a certified diver and a wide choice of equipment brands at all price levels. They move a lot of gear online and in their shops and qualify for good pricing from suppliers--which they pass on to customers. Also, if they don't have the exact color or size you need in a piece of gear they can get it transferred to Atlanta in a day or two from one of their other locations, or will order it for you from the manufacturer. What's also helpful is that divers with a wide range of interests and experience comprise their sales team from cave divers to spearfishermen to just plain old divers like me. But best of all, THEY SUPPORT DIVEHEART EVERY MONTH BY HOSTING DIVEHEART SCUBA EXPERIENCES! Yup, every month...actual diving with disabled children, adults and wounded veterans in their pool. My wife and I did our basic certification here several years ago and loved the staff and their style of instruction. Everyone was super knowledgeable at that time. We also purchased ALL of our dive gear here as we were newbies. Fast forward two years and a change in personnel...... 4 weeks ago I took our dive regulators in for service and got the biggest load of BS I have ever heard. First of all they tried to tell me that Atomic parts had doubled in price and that I should get rid of them and purchase new Scuba Pros.....Let me think - get rid of the best reg on the market for a cheaper brand? I left the regulators to be serviced and didn't hear anything for 4 weeks, when they said the service would be complete in 3 days. Last week I returned to the shop, the regulators had not been touched and I received a lot of ATTITUDE. Then I was told they could service the regs in 15 minutes. Just a second DUDE, this is my life underwater and you want to give me 15 minutes of service time?? I don't think so. I gathered the regulators and no shock here....I won't be back. What happened?? P.S. - After a little digging it turns out they are no longer Atomic certified and that's why the parts are double. BE WARE!!!!! read more

Sadly I wish I had done my research and I would have never ended up here. My first day in the shop was to sign up for sucba lessons. This took over 2 1/2 hours!!! the guy running the place is a total drama queen who can not handle the slight stress of having more than one person in the shop. He called his wife to come help as well as a "regular" who happend to come in to drop off a tank to get behind the counter and assist the customers. What should have been a 15 min process (and my first clue to go elsewhere) took the better part of an afternoon. My second clue was when we did our scuba lessons. Let me be VERY clear, the two instructors we had were great guys. You won't find anyone better than Andy but the complete disorganization at the store carries over to the classes. On our first day we were told to arrive at one time only to find out the entire rest of the class was given an earlier time, we almost missed our certification dive! Lastly, after you are certified you are welcome to use the pool facility to practice and keep your skills up. I called one week to see if the pool would be free that weekend. After being assured it was I told them what day I would be there. They asked that I call again the day of just as a reminder and to let them know how many of us there would be. I called at 12:15 on the day off, spoke to a different person but was assured again the pool would be available to us about 3 when we wanted to come and told them we would see them soon. We arrived a bit after 3 (after driving 40 miles) to find out there is a class going on until 5! That was it. we will never be back. Luckily we found another dive shop less than 10 miles from this one who is happy to have us and will be our new "home" dive location. read more

Avoid if at all possible. Tend to have low prices on gear, but terrible service, both in the service-to-customer sense and in their technical abilities to do annual service to your regulator, etc. I traded with them for several years and bought gear from them. But my experiences getting that gear (and other gear) serviced have been terrible. First, it's never ready when promised and you have to call repeatedly to get their attention. Second, the service isn't performed properly. I once came in to pick up a regulator set, and one of the 2nd stages was completely free-flowing as soon as the air was turned on for testing, apparently not having been tested at all in the shop. On each of the last two times I've had my gear serviced right before a dive trip, one 2nd stage has leaked enough air that I've had to discontinue its use and borrow a spare 2nd for the duration of the trip. This on freshly-serviced gear. They won't be servicing my gear anymore. Don't buy anything here that your life might depend upon. Go to a reputable shop. You may pay more, but for good reason. read more

Gave them my regs for the yearly service. I'm used to the old crew telling me it would take 2 weeks but then taking 6 to 7. Then for 2 years in a row the regs were still needing work before I could use them. Today I came in to pick up my regs, it did take 3 weeks instead of 2 (not a big deal) and for the first time ever Mike (who serviced them) brought me a tank of air to make sure they work properly. I would rate this lot a zero if I could! Four weeks out from my dive trip and my gear still hasn't arrived. When I finally was able to speak with someone, after many phone calls and emails, I was told that I had definitely been sent an email saying some of the gear was on backorder. I have every email sent and there is no email saying that. Apparently my things are being shipped in 3 different parcels, though I have emails stating 4. I have not been able to track the parcels even though I was assured I would be able to. The person I spoke to had no empathy at all - he could not care less. I am not happy, and would warn anyone even thinking of buying from Divers Supply to think again!!!!!!! read more

I live in Florida about 300 miles from Divers Supply. I checked on the status of my order on the 9th day after it was placed, and the order had not shipped! Then I checked my sales invoice and saw that Divers Supply had charged me $6.68 for "shipping and handling" on three spear gun bands, plus 6% Georgia sales tax! Cancelled the order.
