My girls have been swimming here for years. The instructors are fantastic, lots of patients. The place is always clean. It doesn't have all the fancy stuff that the big box swim lessons have, But the instructors are the same week to week they remember their students names, and they remember their students skill sets. The fees are the same amount as the big box swim places, but those fees go straight to the instructors not the fancy stuff. I highly suggest this place or swim! read more

We participated in our first BIG EVENT at Diventures, Alpharetta, GA yesterday - their 34th Anniversary. Not our first visit to the shop. We have utilized the pool for some equipment fine tuning. The staff is also outstandingly helpful as well as being willing to make suggestions/recommendations when asked. Chelsa Foster has been very helpful in getting my wife and I enrolled in the DAN First Aid Course & SSI Stress & Rescue - we can't wait. We've been here for scuba and swimming lessons for the kidddos! Everyone is so amazing. Matt was my Scuba instructor he's patient and a great teacher. Tory was my husband's instructor he says she's very patient and made the class exciting and not so intense. Harrison helped with both I and my husbands equipments he was so very helpful and is always so welcoming and willing to answer our millions of questions! Not to mention his super cute accent . The store has great equipment and their prices are comparable to market prices. They don't over charge for things. The heated pool is a plus, though the pool is small for the many activities happening at the center. It's often busy in the store and the pool but I'm 100% sure it because of the excellent, kind, welcoming and accommodating employees!!!! Great dive shop. The staff is great and it's a one stop shop with a pool for all the training you need before going out in the open water.

It appears SeaVentures may have built a business model that includes so many customers and students they don't have to bother with or make time for new ones. I visited the shop in February 2019 (now middle of May) and spoke with Dan Weekly for more than 30 minutes. I am interested in adding an instructor rating, as well as a dozen SSI specialties. Dan answered my questions, gave me a tour, and took my contact information -- promising to add me to their monthly mailing list and contact me when classes in which I was interested were scheduled. Three months later without a single contact from SeaVentures. Great customer follow up! I'm currently looking for another facility at which to do my training (and spend disposable income). read more

My wife gave me SCUBA lessons for my birthday and I convinced her to do this with me. After doing some due diligence we decided to choose SeaVentures and are extremely happy ever since. From the first time we went into the center to ask about SCUBA lessons, to our recent certification, and through the recent purchase of our total dive system we couldn't be happier. All of the staff are friendly, well-informed, and happy to keep educating you and helping you grow in your diving experience. Our teachers and certification divers were patient with our group, the variations required with all different types of divers, etc. We have always been given the time needed to answer questions, good follow-up, etc. Thanks to Bridget, Melissa, Tim, Steve P, Drago, Harrison, Claude, John, Steve T, and the others that have helped us through this part of our SCUBA experience. Scuba diving is something I have always wanted to try and would like to cross off "the bucket list." Think about it for a minute instead of looking at those beautiful images on t.v. you could take lessons, get certified and swim in those waters, touch those turtles and take those breathtaking photos we all love to look at. Most classes are held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which doesn't work for me and found they also have classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings this might just work? If your not sure and would like " to test the waters," there is a class offered for $50.00 from 6 - 8 p.m. For those of you who already have certification about twenty trips a year are offered so if you are feeling like swimming with the manatees in the Keys or maybe a quick trip to the Bahamas for some night diving call or check out their web sight. DO NOT REGISTER UNTIL YOU KNOW THESE GUYS AREN'T DOING a 50% OFF GROUPON! I recently signed my daughter up for her 5th month of swim lessons and paid for the next 3 months . . . then the 1 month groupon comes out. . ..I only asked if they could allow me to use the value of the groupon to future services beyond what I've paid for. . . They were completely uninterested in keeping my business. RESPONSE: At the end of the day, the person who suffers here is my 2 year old daughter. She loves swim class, as well as her instructor Mr. Chris. Even though you claim you "don't know me", I'm fairly certain that Mr. Chris would say that he knows exactly who my family is, as he's been essential in continuing to develop my daughter's water skills. I have to say that he is an amazing instructor, and does an outstanding job. For these reasons, I have a heavy heart knowing how disappointed she will be to move on to another instructor at another facility, and how disappointed both my wife and I are knowing the same. I think we could have come to a fair and reasonable agreement had there been any willingness on the part of Seaventures to express empathy toward this situation; just an apology would have gone far with me. Because that did not happen, this grew into something it did not need to; a "he said / she said" type of misunderstanding. I was simply looking for customer service, and did not receive that in any shape or form. Instead I now have a 2 year old who is saddened that she will not be doing 'Ring Around the Rosie' with Mr. Chris and her friends this evening......that's the real shame in all of this. Again, I truly am sorry if you feel I've "trashed" your company . . . nowhere in my original post do I see anything that does that? It merely demonstrates that you were uninterested in me or my daughter . . .my family . . . just to reinforce: "I think your instructors do a wonderful job." In closing, I realize it's my fault for paying for 3 months of your services in advance of receiving any. I should know better. Had I simply had less enthusiasm for my daughter's swim lessons and a desire to guarantee her spot for 3 consecutive months, this never would have happened. I simply should have paid month-to-month and used your Groupons as they were issued. read more

Beware getting your gear inspected and serviced at SeaVentures. We had issues now with the last two service overhauls. When I brought a video of my wife's leaking spg hose (after paying $225.00 for service) I was offered "it's no fault of ours", "maybe it was damaged in transit" and "I can offer you 10% off on a new hose". Take my advice and do what I'm doing; find another provider. You don't want to lose dives using your equipment you hauled or worse yet, have a diving accident. read more

My husband and I haven't been diving in 10 years. We're going to Belize for our 30th wedding anniversary and want to dive the Blue Hole. I can not say enough amazing things about Seaventures. Dan helped me get my 12 year old son set up for scuba certification. He was extremely knowledgeable and I felt confident he was realy looking out for my sons best interests in all our purchases. I was terrified to let my son scuba when I walked in but Dan really answered every worry with knowledge and reassurance. When it came time for the scuba classes Mike was amazing. My son came home every night with great stories. Mike was patient and understanding if anything was hard for my son. My son finished the classes with all the skills je would need. I had to return an item and there was zero hassle. They treat you like family and how I would want to treat people. Rare in most businesses. I will tell everyone about them and will go to them first for any scuba/ snorkle things I need. read more

Not the friendliest dive shop. Pretty full of themselves. Very few smiles, expensive gear and always trying to sell you up, not necessarily the gear you need. Visit before last I was in the middle of a conversation with one of the clerks when (apparently) the boss emerged from the back room and interrupted my purchase question with something obviously more important. Not even an "excuse me" or a friendly hello. I've been in dozens of dive shops from Singapore to Houston and never encountered a shop as unfriendly as this bunch. Other shops in Marietta and Lawrenceville which is where my future business is going. read more

Everyone is really nice and knowledgeable. On the last Sunday of the month you can take your gear and dive in their pool...FREE. They give you air and lend weights. And they have a dive locker from which they'll let you try gear before you buy it. read more

My wife and I were PADI OW certified last Sept in Maui. Our training, while thorough, was somewhat rushed. As such, we have not felt comfortable enough to pursue this hobby. This month we decided to jump back in. To get more comfortable we looked for someone offering the PADI Refresh program. This is where we met Kim at Seaventures. She spent a good deal of time explaining the program and assisting us. We arrived at the shop around 6:30pm on 6/17 for our class. Kim was with a customer so another associate assisted us. My wife needed a new wet suit. The associate took one look at her and picked out the perfect size. He actually got it right on the first try. The suit he picked out was also very comfortable for her. It was a good deal over the amount I had planned to pay, but since it had been selected by a professional that seemed to know what he was talking about, we made the purchase. There was absolutely no sales pressure and it was a decision that was well worth it. Kim conducted our training. I don't think I have met a more patient person - EVER. First, my wife had a good deal of trouble getting weighted correctly. Then, once we got going, we were very rusty with our skills. None of this seemed to faze Kim at all. She totally removed our apprehension and soon we were feeling much more comfortable. Kim never made us feel rushed or that there was any specific agenda or timetable to follow. Yet in the end, we had covered all the necessary skills required of the Refresh program. I really can't say enough good things about the team at Seaventures. One thing I can say is that they have made us "customers for life". read more

I was introduced to this facility via a groupon purchase I made about 2 years ago. The staff was very nice and helpful when I was signing my daughter up for swimming lessons. The teachers, especially the director of swimming Ms. Karen are very nice and patient with the children. My daughter was enrolled in the year round swimming program and I think that was the BEST! The students work with the same group of students on a weekly basis with the same teacher. Loved that! We've been swimming at SeaVentures now for 2 years and plan on doing scuba diving classes with them once my daughter is old enough. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. Went here with a voucher for their Discover Scuba class and had a blast. The class was a mix of adults and kids- works for people of all ages. We started off with some training and a test. Very prudent. Then they got us all set with appropriately sized equipment and get changed. You get a decent amount of swim time in a pool. It was a great learning experience. I found scuba to be not as scary as I first thought and I want to try it again. Works your lungs pretty good. They tell you about their class offerings but you do not feel pressured at all. I have offered to do the class again with my boyfriend so that he can try it out, as well. It was quite fun and enlightening. read more

Just did a refresher scuba class with Ed 1 on 1. I haven't dived in about 15 years so was feeling uneasy and I am going to the Keys in May. Ed was patient, caring and very understanding as I needed some extra help on some of the skills I had forgotten! The company did expect a dr's signature on a health form before they would even get me into the water, and even tho it slowed my lesson down; I fully understand their liability. We both wanted to be scuba divers for a long time. We walked into Sea Ventures and Hunter answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable enough to schedule our classes. We were lucky enough to get Hunter as our instructor as well. HE WAS AWESOME! He didn't make us feel bad when we struggled with some of the techniques, he was totally the perfect instructor for us. He was so patient with us. And we were lucky that the management let him travel to Turks and Caicos with us to do our open water dives! IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN A BETTER EXPERIENCE!! read more

This dive center has the best selection for everything diving! Since I'm just learning it was awesome because I can take the class, get the gear, and do a trip all from the same place. They run a large variety of dive trips and even have a pool for me to learn how to dive. All the other local dive centers are really small and limited. read more

If you like a dive shop that cares more about actually teaching you how to dive instead of turning a profit, then you'd best look elsewhere. I came into SeaVentures a while ago based on a recommendation from a friend who has helped out there on occasion. While the shop is all right, most of the staff quite nice, and the pool a nice touch, their company policies have turned what could have been a top-notch dive shop into a money-grubbing cesspit. I had gone in to see about getting a high level certification, but once I started talking with the staff member I had been assigned to, I immediately got the sense that something was off when my simple, personal reasons for wanting this level of certification were brushed aside. I felt that this action was odd, but I let it slide, hoping that the course would be great. What was absolutely absurd though was what I was met with when I was asked what dive gear I had. I figured that this was a pretty standard question so that the instructors would know what I would be working with as they worked with me. I have a great set of gear that has never done me wrong in the few years that I have had it, and I take excellent care of it so that it will take care of me on any dive. However, I was quickly informed that if I was going to take this certification class through their shop, I would need to buy all new gear, even though my gear was all in great condition. Now, if my gear is good enough for even the staff member to call it such, why would he tell me to buy all new gear, from a regulator to a pair of fins and everything in between? This is where a poor attempt at policy comes into play. Apparently, for this shop to certify you, you are REQUIRED to wear gear that they currently stock in their shop, from the general brand name right down to the model. This policy turns anyone from a student into a walking advertisement, and that is not fair for the student or their wallet. Basically, if I had gone on ahead with the certification here, regardless of the costs of the course and materials, I would have had to spend over $2000 just to have another set of dive gear in addition to my one set that works perfectly. Going in, I was more than willing to pay the cost of the course and materials, but even that high price tag was not enough for this shop. It was akin to going to purchase a new television and being told that you need to buy an entire new living room and set of furniture just to have it. In other words, complete bunk. I will say that some of the staff was quite nice, the array of course materials was good, and that some of the dive gear items they had were decent deals. However, a few other staff members taint the image of what could have been a great shop, and the company policies bring it down to irredeemable levels. In the end, the shop is only out for money, not just enjoying diving and teaching people how to dive as one would like to think. I cannot in good conscience recommend this shop, although I do wish everyone else luck in finding a better one. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Unlike a lot of dive shops, they do not pressure you into equipment you don't need. The staff serviced my dive gear and the service was very fast and good. They also made sure I tested everything with them to ensure it worked correctly. Their class schedule is very good with a lot of different classes to fit your schedule and their instructors were also very flexible with setting up a private refresher course. Their selection of equipment is very good and geared toward more serious and experienced divers. They do have some lower-end intro-level equipment but this isn't a warehouse so don't expect to see a large selection of everything. They seem to focus on carrying high quality gear (which comes with some cost - you get what you pay for). This isn't the place to go for cheap snorkeling equipment and that's ok with me; 120 ft under water is not where I want to take a chance with low-end equipment anyhow. read more

My 4 year old son has been taking swim lessons at Seaventures for 3 months and absolutely loves it! We signed him up because of his fear of getting his face/head wet, and he has really blossomed and is now so comfortable in the water. Each class includes 4 children and 1 teacher who spends individual time with each child. They have fun activities to get the children excited and comfortable, and are patient with kids who have a hard time. Ms Mia and ms Kira have been phenomenal! Minus one star for the makeup policy - requiring a doctors note is extremely inconvenient. read more

Both my dad and my younger brother (age 13) got their Open Water Certification here, and after the Discover Scuba class, so have I. I found all the staff very friendly and knowledge, as well as extremely helpful with any information regarding additional scuba education and training. The Open Water training materials provided were clear and easy to understand, and the instructors are patient and took extra time for people who were not grasping certain skills. My dad and brother went on their Key Largo trip and loved every minute of it; I'm planning on doing the same later next month. The facilities are excellent and clean. I would direct anyone looking to get certified or continue their education in scuba to Seaventures. read more
