Beautiful nice and clean beach. Less crowded than other beaches in this area. Great views! Definitely a hidden gem.

Want perfect conditions? Follow my suggestion: Wait until there is no swell over the course of AT LEAST 4 days which will allow the debris to settle and drastically improve visibility, little to no wind, around 11a-2p in the summer on a sunny cloudless day, and when water temps are at least 70 degrees or warmer. Bring snorkeling gear and have at it. You'll be amazed! You're welcome.

I've been to this beach before as beach enthusiast, but never thought I would be diving here! This past weekend, our Open Water class went out to do our last ocean dive. We met up at 7am, bright and early before all the paddleboarders and surfers were out. Snagged a good parking spot right in front of Divers Cove for $2.25/hour on the meter (they take credit cards). Our instructors gave us a heads up that Laguna Beach are sticklers for leaving gear on the sidewalk and such, so make sure you leave it close to your car or setup where it isn't a pedestrian walkway. Once setting up our gear, the hard part is going down (and up!) the flight of stairs. Slippery and sandy, so make sure you use the handrails. I am a novice when it comes to diving and I was getting tested for my OW skills, so obviously, I was a bit nervous. This beach is a good place for beginner divers because of the shallowness of the ocean (about 15-30ft) and the calmness of the shore/waves. However, to the contrary, I did get caught in a wave, tumbled around and lost my mask and fins the first time in!! Guess I didn't lean in sideways enough when the wave was coming!! However, once I got in and swam away from shore, it did calm down quite a bit. Visibility was quite low that day unfortunately (about 5 ft) though our instructors told us it is usually about (15 ft). There were a few fish, mostly kelp and sea foliage. Maybe if I went out a little more, I would've seen more rocks formation and such (didn't go out too far due to my skills test). Exiting the water seemed a tad easier than entering, though you have to really time it right. Stuff you don't learn in the pool folks. I was such a scaredy cat about this dive so be careful out there if you really are a beginner and have some hesitation with scuba diving. Definitely want to try this dive again once I get a little more practice!

First beach north of Main Beach. Small beach... definitely lives up to its name. For Little cove beaches head south of Main Beach.

If you are in Laguna this is one of my favorite beaches in southern Cali. On good days the water could be clear lots of sea life, rocks to climb on, tide pools, and lots of beach to relax on, way better then main beach Laguna!

This little grato is amazing makes anyone feel like a mermaid

We love visiting Diver's cove it's always a nice clean and relaxing place to have some family fun. Not to mention it's beautiful! It's a real gem! Definitely recommend going. Meter parking available and they take credit/debit card which is always a plus.

Gorgeous view from the top of the stairs.

What a fun experience! We came out on a Friday morning and it was just us and another group going…read moreout into the water. They had a kayak that could hold 2 adults and a kid in the middle, along with life jackets. We filled out the waiver online, so it was pretty quick to go out once we got there. We parked a little farther up at the paid spots. We launched from Fisherman's Cove. Before this, we had only been kayaking in calm waters in Newport Back Bay. The open waters is a totally different beast. Not gonna lie - I was a little nervous during launch because the waters were definitely rougher than the bay, and I can't swim. But I always felt safe. We went out to a few kelp beds and just chilled there for a bit, chatting with each other, learning about the area and each other. Living in Orange County, I was surprised at how much I didn't know about Laguna Beach and I learned a lot just chatting out in the water. The effect was surprisingly calming as the waves moved underneath us. The kelp beds definitely help break the waves a bit. Although we did pick up some kelp while paddling, it wasn't too bad. There were a few waves that were a little bigger, and our poor kid started to get a bit seasick about halfway through the tour. The way back was pretty straight forward, and we landed right where we launched. Everything was done with such ease - we all really enjoyed it! Even our kid was talking about it once we landed. We were able to wear basic beach footwear on the kayak, but were encouraged to leave everything in the car since there could be a tipping event - luckily we didn't experience one! But they took some photos for us and texted them over. While we didn't see any marine mammals, we did see several types of birds. The experience of being out in the kelp beds alone was pretty cool - I can imagine how magical it is to see some dolphin or a whale out in the water!
