getting ready to dive
Ted B.

Had a great "2 Tanks local diving in the Cabo Marine Park" on June 30, 2024. The dive was lead by Joy, who was very helpful, patient, and educational especially for me as a newbie diver. The boat picked us up in front of Casa Dorada Resort where they have a Dojo and give lessons. It was only a 5 minute boat ride to the dive site at Pelican rock. Joy made sure me and my buddy were all ready and briefed and in when went. Joy pointed out the unique fish and other sightings. She took care to make sure we were O.K. throughout the dive. And we had a fun time, with lots to see. When we are back in Cabo I'll definitely book with Dive Ninja's again.

Mobula mobular. Very near the surface. This trip was snorkel-only

I was on the May 17-24, 2024 Mobula Ray Expedition. I have waited until now, a month later, to write a review, thinking the euphoria might have subsided. It has not. This trip gave me exactly what I hoped for, reassurance that despite so much damage by humans, nature will find a way. When I saw the aggregation of the mobula rays (Mobula munkiana) for the first time I was so moved I cried. Despite snotting up my mask, it was definitely a peak experience in my longish life of 72 years. It was a blessing in disguise that my camera failed and I was able to be fully present to the experience. That was only the first day, and we swam with the same hundreds of rays for a couple of hours. On the following days we snorkeled with a small group of the much larger Mobula mobular, (which I swear were showing off for us), more huge aggregations of munkiana.  No company can guarantee that you will see what you could see, but the expertise and intuition of our wonderful wise-beyond-her-years guide, Victoria, and our captain resulted in one magical experience after another. I really cannot say enough about the quality of an expedition with Dive Ninjas. There is not one single suggestion I could make on how any aspect of this could have been improved. Short list of highlights: 1. Dive Ninjas are serious and knowledgeable about conservation and sustainability 2. Max group size is six and they will still do the trip if only 4 3. I felt very "cared for", attended to and safe throughout the expedition, on or off the water. 4. Though I was the only vegan on the trip, the wonderful cooks meticulously cooked separately and deliciously for me. 5. There is very much an egalitarian team atmosphere among the staff. 6. The accommodations are fabulous villas, very private, the whole location rented by Dive Ninjas for their expeditions.  I have such complete trust in Dive Ninjas to create a memorable experience, I am already in the process of booking two more expeditions. Recommend bringing a GoPro

Our family had an awesome set of dives both day and night. We are a family of 4 with two boys 14 and 17. We did two dives in the Corridor and one night dive in the Marine Park. Marco and Chelsea did a great job of explaining everything and taking it nice and slow. This was by far our best diving experience. We saw devil rays on the way out and fake killer whales rolling along. During dives in the day we saw morays, mantas and so many types of fish it was crazy. The night dive was great as well with rays swimming around and a huge striped eel hunting. My older boy really enjoyed the lobster. I can't say enough about the entire experience from the book with Samira to the check in and everything was in place. Gear movement to the doc and the boat captain has so much experience diving (48 years in Cabo) he was able to put us right on top of so much and explain the surroundings and what used to be there. If you looking to book some dives in Cabo I highly recommend Dive Nijas!

As good as it gets! I took my first breaths underwater with Dive Ninja and quickly became addicted. I live in Cabo and I´ve had the pleasure to do all my certifications with them so far. From the Open Water to the Rescue Diver Course. All of them full of patience and fun. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. Jay is awesome! If you want to know you are safe and enjoy Baja with happy people.... I unequivocally recommend them!

Online courses for ocean conservation
Christy K.

Wow being homebound I was able to take online courses for ocean conservation through this company. It has enriched my soul and helped me learn about this little blue dot we call earth to have so much to be grateful for and how to take care of it even more. So not only do they have awesome expeditions but they also do a lot more, check out Ocean Stories!!! I got certified for Coral reef conservation and Project Aware. Looking forward to my next online certification and did I mention inexpensive??? Yup!

About to go diving near the arch.

Found Dive Ninjas on Yelp, read the good reviews so decided to give it a try. Jay was very helpful with booking the type of trip I wanted. I'm advanced open water with Padi, but hadn't gone diving in a few years. We did the refresher practice course in the pool, and then they took me out for two dives in the afternoon. They provided all the equipment, which was great and well taken care of. The dives were incredible and beyond what I expected. The second dive we swam with the sea lions and watched them play underwater. They would swim up super close to you! Will definitely come back again. Jay wasn't able to be there that day, but his team took good care of me.

Excellent experience! Thank you!

Hence I would have given 4 stars because of this. I was expecting a much better informative tour with the marine biologist. However, in general, she didn't cut short our time and they did speed a long to various areas whenever we saw a spout of water blow up. And, in general, had a great time seeing e humpback whales- we saw one full breach too. I think we may have seen about 20 in January 2026. I heard Cabo is the best place to see the humpback whales and from December through March. I would reccomend the blow up boats as you can get much closer. We were in a small boat with about 8 people but I saw videos of people in the blow up boats that could actually touch the whales if they wanted to. Would have liked this better I think. Also, we forgot our water bottle in the boat afterwards and the company was very customer service oriented in helping us restrict the water bottle. Thank you for a great first time experience in Cabo and seeing humpback whales!

She was able to give us information on the whales in both English and Spanish (she also speaks French and Icelandic). The tour was good, we didn't even need to take photos because Victoria had a giant camera to do it for us. This way, we can really enjoy the natural settings of the Whale habitat. Towards the end of our tour, we were able to see 8 whales swimming together. Victoria said there are 7 are males chasing 1 female to see who would end up 'dating' her, aka - put a baby in her. Mating season was in the air and we got to see that. Best excursion ever! Private small tour. I'm happy to say, they followed sealife protocol and didn't get too close to harm the whales and there were only a few boats out for whale watching. It didn't feel commercial.

We were picked up by a driver in a passenger van prior and dropped off after which was great since we knew we would have some cocktails on board the boat. He was great! Very nice and took good care of us. When we arrived, the driver escorted us to the Cabo Adventure center where we were met by one of the crew members and then escorted to the boat following check-in. We walked a short distance to the boat, passing by many vendors and shops who of course chased you down for sales, donations, etc. But all is good, just say no thank you and they leave you alone. We arrived to the boat and were introduced to our captain, and team. Mauricio, Manuel and Derick. All three were very nice. They catered to whatever we requested from drinks, lunch and snorkeling time. When we arrived, they shared we had a photographer taking pictures throughout the day. I was excited as I am usually the one always taking photos so it would be nice to have a photographer taking pictures of our group instead of me. And, to have professional photos would be great! I only snapped a couple of pictures as we boarded because it looked like he was taking a lot of photos of us in front of the arches, hanging on the boat, etc. throughout the afternoon. I also thought the photos were included. They are not. The boat ride was great. Drinks were great. They made cocktails for us. Snorkeling was nice. Views were beautiful. They answered our questions of the area. We have a delicious light lunch of chips and guac, pasta salad, chicken salad and fruit. The staff couldn't be nicer. The photographer is nice. When we arrived back at the center, we were directed to the "photography" area where we quickly learned our photos would be $200! I calmly said let me look at the photos because if they are really that good, I'll pay for great photos. Sadly, they were all just awful! Only 1 decent photo out of 50 or so photos and even that photo needed major editing. Shadows, weird light. We had 2 different group shots. The photos in front of the arches, the top of the arches were cut off! Who cuts off the arches? Not one good picture in front of the arches. They do NOT have professional photographers my friends. Take your own photos. Don't let them convince you otherwise. I still purchased 3 photos as I thought I could use apps to improve them and wanted a memory of our day. $100 for 3 photos. Such a disappointment. I want to give this company 3 stars because of the photo situation but the rest of the experience was great and the photo situation is obviously a personal preference. If I had any photos other than 2, I would share them, TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS. Do not let them talk you into their photographer or you will be disappointed and out a lot of money.

Nely taught how to get Kobe to spin, be a shark zooming to us, blowing underwater rings, and other tricks. Best morning experience coming here. There are lockers as you're not allowed to keep jewelry, watches, earrings and such on while in with the dolphins; NO sunscreen either, but call and ask about reef safe sunscreen when you book if it's ok: I believe the policy is absolutely none. We don't want to unwittingly harm the dolphins when hugging ! I suggest you book direct with them as opposed to through your hotel or other agencies. While waiting to be escorted to the pool there's some chairs and tables in the shade near the lockers, after you check in. Inside you can have sandwiches and some other snacks, beer, sodas and such; also a selection of T-shirts, sweatshirts rashguards, hats, and lots of dolphin plushies.

I wanted to use a company other than the big one in town to see how the the experience would be. CaboTrek respects the whales in giving them their space, and if there are a lot of boats to join in around the whales that they are watching, they the boat will move on to other whales. My wife and I took part in a baby turtle release, and a few whale watch trips with the deal on multiple whale watch trips. They are easy to book activities online or by phone. Our 1st activity the baby sea turtle release. We took a bus ride up the Pacific Ocean coast to the beach for release. The marine biologist in charge of project gave a presentation on the various turtle species, how they lay the eggs. Maria, a marine biologist with Cabo Trek, was our host with the company for the trip. She also helped with any questions, and assist the slowest turtles with a lift into the water after a while before the birds showed up. We went on a few whale watch trips the next 2 days. CaboTrek uses small boats with cover that can carry up to about 12 passengers. There is a marine biologist to answer any questions and take pictures. The 1st day was a very unique experience in that we had 2 whales decide to have curiosity fun with our boat and 2 others in putting on a show. These 2 whales spy hopped, fin slapped the water, tail slapped the water, full breach jumps, and swim under the boats several times. The 2nd day we saw momma and a baby humpback whale. The marine biologist estimated the baby to be about 2 or 3 weeks old. The baby decided to showoff for mom in jumping part way out of the water. This was a wonderful unusual experience to see. In the office Bee is great to work with in booking activities and any issues. The marine biologist are Andrea, Adrian, and Maria. They are all very knowledgeable about the ocean wildlife and nice. With small whale watch groups we got a more personable experience. The boat captains Adrian and Freddie are great in getting the boats around crowd at the Arch, and working around to find the whales for a wonderful whale watch trip. We will be returning in the future for more fun wonderful experiences.

We wanted a tour that included the Arch and whale watching. We chose this tour as opposed to another tour that we were considering because there was more than 20 minutes of whale watching, and this tour WAS WORTH IT!! Towards the end of our time we'd located a small group of whales that were showing off with belly slaps and breaching...and our guides stuck around so that we could see them repeatedly so this instead of rushing us back to the pier because we were at time.

She arranged a two day trip for us to see the grey whales with their babies in the "Santuario de la Ballena Gris", and planned another day for us to swim with the whale sharks. She planned every detail. Communication was perfect and she is organized and prepared. A true professional, she was also so flexible about allowing us to decide how to spend our time, giving us plenty of ideas, and switching things around when we wanted to. She took care of all the transportation, permits, snacks and meals, boats and wonderful captains, wetsuits, equipment, Spanish translation, and lodging near the grey whale sanctuary. We learned so much from her and always felt safe and cared for. We were fortunate enough to observe caracaras, countless grey whales feeding and training their babies to prepare for their long migration, and herons and seabirds on our trip to the reserve. She had a long drive, but the experience was phenomenal. Then we had planned to see the whale sharks, planning the entire trip around the peak time for whale shark viewing -- but on the day of our trip, the whale shark refuge was closed (I believe because the previous winds had encouraged them to move 60 miles away to feed, something that was unprecedented). Although we expect they'll be back soon, we had to decide what to do with our last day with Karen. She had so many fantastic ideas and was able to pivot her plans, preparation, boat and captain to a custom-designed trip for us. She drove us to La Paz with a plan to take us out to swim with the sea lions at Espiritu Santo, part of a UNESCO world heritage site. But before we got to the snorkeling site, we were astonished to have two juvenile humpbacks repeatedly breaching out of the water in front of us. We were the only boat around and paused to peacefully observe their playful antics so close to us. We also got to see blue footed boobies and frigatebirds with their red breasts on our way to the site. Then to the sea lions. The pups were around 4 months old and many of their mothers were off fishing, so the pups hopped in the water with us to play as we snorkeled over the beautiful reef. Karen pointed out so much while we snorkeled together. It was an experience of a lifetime and we felt like we had so much time enjoying the pups; other boats were there but Karen guided us to an area where we felt like we could really enjoy the pups in solitude. They tugged on my fins and jumped on my back more than once. Back on the boat and on our way to our next stop, we paused to enjoy the playful dolphins checking us out. Peaceful and touching experience. Our final stop that day was Balandra Beach. We walked from the boat in the shallow clear turquoise water all the way to the sandy beach and enjoyed solitude at the beach, listed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When we returned to the boat, they had prepared a delicious fresh ceviche lunch that the captain had prepared. It was a perfect three days and we plan to return again to see the whale sharks! I cannot see any reason to enjoy this area with anyone else and highly recommend it. Definitely take some time from your Cabo or La Paz vacation to explore with Karen.

Knowing it's a 20 minute walk from the place where the cruise ship tender drops you off to the place where the tour boats dock, we decided to scout it out the night before. The email from the company instructed us to check in at the Roger's office ("kiosko 2") to ensure we got the correctly-fitting snorkeling gear, so we went looking for the office using a map from the Roger's website and Google maps. We tried inputting the exact address from the email and asking everyone we could find at Puerto Paraiso mall, but when we went to the alleged office location, nothing was there. As a last ditch effort, on the way out of the mall, we paused and asked a random guy at a booth with ads for tours (mind you, nowhere did it say Roger's on it)! This booth was NOT located in the same spot indicated in the map on the Roger's website. However, this guy was somehow able to look up our reservation, and it was legit because he knew my name even though I never said it. He told us to just meet at the dock the next day - not to even worry about going to the "office" (wherever it may be). So that's what I would advise any future travelers to do - just go to Dock D, which isn't hard to find. Ahead of time, I had emailed the company and asked if I could add additional people to our tour and how to pay for them. I received a response indicating we would need to pay 35 per person and they could either send me a PayPal account to put the money in, or we could pay at the dock. When we got on the boat, we inquired about the two extra people and were told to pay 40 dollars. Thankfully I had the email from the company and I disputed this. I was given a roundabout explanation about how the corporate office is somewhere else in Mexico and sometimes there's miscommunication. This felt like an attempt to con more money out of us, but to their credit, they did honor the emailed price. The tour itself was great. We had Jonathan as the guide and Memo as the boat driver. Jonathan had great English skills and was knowledgeable. Our kids got to drive the boat, which had them laughing hysterically. They also dropped a couple members of our party off to snorkel in a designated spot, and the snorkel gear they provided seemed nicer than the cheap stuff we brought. At the end, they offered to drop us off closer to the cruise ship to help us avoid the 20-minute walk, but said it would be a $2 dock fee per person. We did take them up on that, as we had small kids in the party and didn't want them to have to do the walk in the hot sun. They do take pictures during the tour and offer you the chance to buy them at the end. Technically this is mentioned on the website, so it's not surprising. However, I will note that they offered us a discount on the photos at the end if we left them a review - lowering the price from 80 to 50 dollars. So, take that into account when you read other reviews. We declined. I recall when I was researching tour options that some other customers had mentioned their tours being outsourced to other people. There is definitely something odd with the "company." It presents itself on its website like a small business and frequent references are made to "our boat." But when you get to the dock, nothing says "Roger's" - no signage, no uniforms, etc. There's also more than one boat - another party was checking in at the exact same time as we were with the same people. It's almost like they've been bought out by a bigger conglomerate of tour operators. Perhaps this explains the conflicting information in some spots (i.e., the email confirmation saying to check in early at an office but a guy at a random kiosk that doesn't say Roger's on it somehow having our reservation and telling us to just go to the dock). Overall, we enjoyed the tour itself, but the issues with finding the location and being asked to pay different fees than we were quoted were off-putting.

At this point, it was like what the heck. We're here now. And he didn't seem pushing whatsoever. Friendly was always a plus and got our attention. They up sale you with other add on, but we just wanted to do the boat ride to the arches. The price was good per person compared to what Expedia or what the hotels would have charged. It's better to get the rates when your actually there in town as they tend to be cheaper than booking through the hotel or site. He walked us to the docked, also there was a 1.00 per person fee for the dock entrance. Not sure if that really was the case or add on for gratuity as a sale. Either or, it was fine. First off, we had the whole boat to ourselves. Just us and the captain. Leaving the marina, water was nice but once you got out to open sea, the water got a bit choppy. Our boat tour of the arches was about 45 min or so. He took us along the arches to see pelican rock I believe, as well as lover beach. Snorkeling was also in the area and kayaking. We could have paid more if we wanted to be let off on the beach and be picked up Later. Obviously there was the arches, which was nice. Depending on the time of day, it does get pretty crowded with boat tours. The captain was sweet, explained the tour, joked around. All around cool guy. Also, there was a section of the boat that was clear so you could actually see the fishes down below. Plenty of picture perfect spot. Tour goes from the marina, towards the rocks, pelican rock. As well as where snorkeling are, lovers beach, the cave. Then arches, sea lion rock or something like that, around the arches to the Pacific Ocean side, divorced beach as he called it. Not sure if that's the real name of it. But swimming on that side was hazardous as current was pretty strong. You go around the rocks and return back to the marina. But the view are amazing. Nice to be on the Baja peninsula sea of Cortez where it meets the Pacific Ocean. Then going back you have the view of the beaches with all the hotel line along the water front. Sunset tours are popular as most people would want that perfect picture but as well as all the lights coming from the city. Overall experience was amazing. The tour was nice as we were the only one on the boat with the captain. It can get crowded with other people but if you can, just get your group on.

We have used Kelly Cabo water taxi every time we're in Cabo. Alejandro and Ismael and Crew are…read morethey go to people. Their service is impeccable! For six dollars per person they will take you on a 20 minute tour to Lands' End. Then they will ask you if you want to be taken to Madono Beach- the office, mango bar or any other restaurant/ beach location. They will then ask, what time you want to be picked up. Yes, they will show up On Time to pick you up!! So you better be there! Enjoy Cabo!! #carnivalPanorama #chooseFun #AlohaCaliteam
